I am getting calls from this agency also. They leave a name and number and message about collecting a debt, but are very shady over the phone, refusing to identify themselves. I have been paying the bill for months, with a payment agreement,  so I don't know why it went to collections. When I call the phone number on the actual bill, no one answers or calls me back. I do not feel comfortable giving out any of my personal information to people who will not state their business or identify themselves.

Patient called stating she was receiving phone calls and bills from a collection agency stating that she owed money to our company.  Her account had been paid in full.  I called the number that was left 757-873-3667 and spoke with a "supervisor" Becky Kirk. I advised that she was receiving bills and phone calls from this number and she has a balance that was paid in full.  I asked her what kind of company this was and she refused to divulge the information.  She did state that she was with R&B Corporation

That is against the law.. Call the Federal Trade Commission.. they will stop it.. Once you tell them to stop calling you at work.. They cannot, must not call you... better yet, talk to your supervisor, explain what is going on and get them to say the same.. That way you are covered two ways.. They will break laws to get to you..

What a Rude Company. They called to speak with me. I said "speaking" thinking..this has got to be important the way this women is panting.. YES PANTING.. She informed me I owed a bill from Sentara, and if I didn't pay, well, I would have  more problems than I have even seen. Yep that direct. So, I went there.. I told her I have my EOB's, check's I wrote to cover what was not covered, and yep, now she had to be worried. She called me outright a lier. Yes a Lier!  I know of FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION and the good they do for us out there with people like this... now she has a problem and that panting is going to get worse, I gave her the FTC number of complaint I filed on her and her company and they took over. FEDERAL TRADE told me she broke 16 laws  in less than 20 minutes.. Needless to say, our system is really screwed up to try and get money out of people..And the sad part of this is this... Had they of called my mother.. she would of paid it.. Elderly just don't know and if you say they owe something, they pay it. I hate that our country that is falling apart has come to this. And pray that others will take my advice and warm people like this that this can be stopped. Just tell them you will call the FTC, and do call them. get your case number, and have this information ready.. 1.Who  you talked to, 2.what was said,  3.what they wanted and 4.who they were calling for.. Odds are the people they are calling for, don't wanting to do with the FTC. Good luck and let's put an end to this kind of punishment we have to endure just by answering our phones..

They called me at work, and I don't appreciate it.  The caller did leave a voice mail message identifying herself as Miss Valdez and did say that it was a call to collect a debt, but she did not give any other identifying information for her company, nor did she give any reference number or mention the creditor's name.  I figured it was probably about a medical bill because I was hospitalized with a bad case of pneumonia this year, and I've had several follow-up chest x-rays in recent months.  Although insurance didn't take care of everything, I did set up a payment plan with Riverside, which is the entity under which the hospitalization and all of the follow-up treatment has taken place (including visits with my primary care physician, who is also in the Riverside system).  Because I wanted to know who called me at work, I searched on the number Miss Valdez had given in her message, 873-3667.  Although she had not given the area code, I figured it was 757 because that's the area code of my work number, as well as the number from which she was apparently calling as recorded by the voice mail/caller ID system at my workplace, (757) 223-5641.   When I searched on (757) 873-3667, I got this page, which is how I found out that the company was R & B Corporation.  Out of curiosity, I first tried calling (757) 223-5641, the number Miss Valdez apparently called from, but although I tried two or three times, the number would automatically refuse to connect, sending my phone back to a dial tone.  I called (757) 873-3667, and the woman who answered (not the same voice from the message) gave her first name but did not identify the company.  I asked for Miss Valdez but was told that she was on another call.  I asked if this was R & B Corporation, and on receiving a positive response, I said I was just wondering why they're afraid to leave their company name when they leave a voice message.  The woman (Patty) said, "We're not afraid to do anything" and asked my name.  I said I wasn't going to tell her but was just curious as to why they wouldn't leave their company name on a message.  Patty said something like if I told her who I was she could find out and tell me why, and said "I'm Patty Young.  Who am I speaking with?" but I repeated that I wasn't going to tell her and signed off.  I think I'm going to look my bills over and consult with Riverside and my insurance company before I address this any further.  If necessary, I will then deal with R & B only in writing.

So "Dawn Rivers" called me and left a message. Did not say what company she was from, just that it was an attempt to collect a debt. If you are going to leave a message, you should probably tell me what company you are with. Because now I've got a feeling that it is just someone working alone just trying to get money.

I have recieved calls from R & B Corporation from this number 757 595 2000
I found these websites with information on the company including contact address.

I am sending a stop calling letter to both R&B, and the AKA company Credit Control Corp to cover all the bases. http://www.credcontrol.com/contact.html
As a note if the caller gets nasty when you are trying to get information from them call your Consumer Protection agency they are usually very helpful, and will file a claim against them if you have done your due dilegence.  Cheeper than hiring a lawyer.

I just received a call from this number asking for my father.  This is my personal cell phone and I have absolutely no idea how they would have gotten my information to get in touch with him. Naturally I was suspicious and when I got nosy with my questions she just kept saying it was a personal business matter.  I got online to research and thankfully found this page.  So I know it is a medical billing issue but have no way of knowing if it is something he's paid already or not.  Sent him the link to this page and hopefully he can take it from here.  Chances are he would normally chalk it up to a telemarketer if he didn't know any better, so I don't know what R&B have to gain from being so secretive and shady. If they call my phone one more time they're going to get an earful.

I run HR for a company, so I get a lot of calls looking to pass messages to an employee.  I received a call this afternoon from R& B Corporation.  I sent it straight to voicemail since I did not recognize the number.  Then I got online to do some research on this company.  What I found is not good.  They apparently harass people and, looking at comments here and elsewhere, have a tendency to be very rude.  Not surprisingly, they did not leave a message in my voicemail.

Collection agency for a local hospital.  I paid the hospital directly about 2 months ago, it looks like they have outdated records.  She was polite on the phone, and will call me back after she does the research.

Received a call from these bottom feeding scum to my husband's work phone number yesterday.  This is R & B Corporation, attempting to collect on a bill to Sentara Williamsburg for an emergency room visit for our daughter.

The problem?

The bill was paid in full to Sentara 64 days ago.. a fact that this "Dawn Rivers" ADMITS and yet, even though we have received no bill statements, never received any notice that the debt might have been sent to a group of scumbags like this (because we made the payments on the bill as agreed and paid it off!!)..  we're getting calls and harassed for a debt which was paid in full and these bottom feeding scumbags will freely admit we paid the bill but they want some kind of BS fee for..   what?  To get them to leave me alone?

Looks like later today I'll be calling a lawyer, and seeing about what recourse I have against Sentara  -  for sending our paid off account to a bunch of bottom feeding scumbags..  and against this collection company for fraud

Hmmm ... I got a phone message (for my husbnd) and the caller identified herself as Ashley, saying it was a "personal matter".  I figured it must be a bill collector since she would not give me any details.  All our bills are paid from Sentara.

Received a call from this number at 11:40AM
Lady asked to speak to my mother by name.  I responded with "she's not in, can I take a message"
She asked for my father by name.  I said they are both at work, how can I help you?
So replied with "Oh, both of them are out"  I said yes.  She said rudely, can I leave my number.  She gave me 873-3667.  I asked and who are you?  she gave the name Vivian Matthews and quickly hung up the phone.
I called back from an untraceable number.  Different lady answered and put me on hold. Then came back and asked how she could help me.  I said I received a call from that number and was wondering what company it was.  She asked for my name, I said what company am I speaking with she said R&B Corp and quickly hung up

After doing a google search of their number and finding this forum, I called them back.  They were pretty rude, told me how much I supposedly owed and who supposedly provided the service, but I had to ask for the date of service.  After hearing it was for August of last year, I remembered that I had received an MRI at Sentara Obici but I also remembered receiving a bill from them.  When I asked the credit collector's representative again about who they were collecting for, they told me Suffolk Radiology, but they refused to provide a phone number for me to reach the radiology group. When they rudely told me that I had failed to respond to bills sent by both Suffolk Radiology and the R & B Corp., I asked where they had sent them.  Lo and behold, they were sending them to an address that was similar to mine, but that doesn't even exist in our town - we all know how the mail carrier doesn't usually figure this out and get it to the right place anyway.

So, off I go to google Suffolk Radiology and talk to them.  The first thing they asked for was my account number.  How was I to know, I had NEVER received a bill from them.  Got past that and was told that I had failed to respond to three bills that had been mailed to me and that they were forced to send the bill to collections.  When i told them they had the wrong address, they said "you do live at ***, don't you".  I said no and was then asked when I had moved.  I told them I had lived at the address since April of 2004 and that I hadn't had problems receiving bills from the hospital and other billers.  She quickly checked my name in the Obici hospital database and sweetly said "Oh, is it xxxx?"  I responded yes, and she said she would have the bill sent back from collections.  Now, what about my credit report though???  I'm going to have to monitor it and get an attorney involved to write a nasty-gram to all concerned to clear it up.

This could have been avoided by Suffolk Radiology IF:
1. they had checked the Obici database after no response from my second billing.
2. they had simply called me to verify I was receiving their bills.
3. they could have even done looked at the local phone book!

It all boils down to common courtesy on their part!

I recieved a call from Ms. Blair from 757-873-3667; telling me that I owed the physicians bill from my Emergency room visit.  I called my insurance provider and they informed me that all of my costs are covered under my deductible.  She in turn called them and spoke to them directly and directed them to resubmit the claim and not to bother me anymore.  If anyone has this problem; they should immediately contact their insurance provider.  I initially thought that this was a scam since all their employees do not have employee numbers.

That being said all collection agencies are required by federal law to send a written statement via mail. Failure to do so will end with them being penalized. If you receive a debt collection from anyone respond with certified mail stating you do or don't owe them. It might be something you have never done business with but failure to respond can be devastating to your credit.
