I just received a call from this number, which I did not recognize or answer..........no message! Caller I D shows Edefensefund???????

I have been receiving calls for months from Envirodefense, EDF ORG and Environdefense.  The numbers call several times a day and they are: 760- 946-6581, 661-434-1o81, 858 401 7478,   They leave no message, but here is mine... I will not ever contribute money to any organization or business that places me on a robo caller list.

That's too bad.  How about picking up the phone and politely asking them to remove you from their list?  They are a fantastic organization and a wonderful cause.

This call came in 1.5 hours after a scammer call came in from 617-960-0804 who I told off a bit because I had finally picked up one of their calls (before they hung up on my message making it look like I had a message) and asked them nicely to stop calling, that I am on the "do not call" register.  That number started after I finally answered a call from Quebec 514-904-3190 and asked them to stop.  The Quebec # says they are Ipsos and they have a www.  As far as I am concerned they are all scammers.  They have hung up on me if I answer, they have hesitated and picked a random name and then started reading something about a survey and they have agreed to stop calling when I ask them to---and yet, they continue to call or clearly pass my number to the next call center.  This number says EDEFENSEFUND on caller id.

Another call from Scam-7 in my contacts.  Didn't answer.

I redialed the number.  It is the Environmental Defense Fund, which is a legitmate organization.  HOWEVER, when I stayed on the line, they gave me the option of having my number removed from their list.  I just did this, so I don't know if they really will leave me alone.

Get calls several times a week.  ID says "Victorville, CA."  No message ever left.

I have received 21 calls in the past 3 weeks from 3 different numbers, all indicating caller as EDEFENSEFUND, EDF ORG, and ENVIRODEFENSE. It is seriously annoying. I blocked the numbers using my phone's block call list, but the call rings once before phone drops the call. I hate that I have to listen to phone ring once, because their calls are so persistent.

The only problem is that the DNC list doesn't include fundraising.  You have to tell each group that you don't want to be called.

This is the 3rd call from EDF (according to the other reports) with 3 different numbers and cities.  This one came from Victorville CA.  This is ridiculous!  I never answer these calls and it's getting really annoying!  

Received repeated calls from "Edefensefund".  They leave no message.  My phone number is on the telemarketer "do not call" list.

I have never answered any of their calls.  However, I do support EDF and their goals but I would never give money to a 3rd party telemarketer.

MAN these scam calls are getting INSANE, i'm getting 20 a day - these guys called just now, 10:05 am, no message, said EDEFENSE Fund on phone.  

Called me this afternoon. Caller ID said EDEFENSEFUND. The only fund they are funding is themselves. Hung up on them. Very annoying!!!

Unknown caller - didn't answer - saved to Contacts as Scam-7 so I know not to answer again.

Called, rang twice, hung up without leaving message.

Got a call 9:30 am Id says "EDEFENSEFUND" I did not answer Probably fund raising .. do not know where they got my phone number >:(

Nonprofits hire telemarketing call centers to do their telemarketing. They don't call from their own offices.

You would think it was that, but how have you determined that it is, in fact, Environmental Defense Fund? Just curious because it is NOT the number or area code listed on the edf website for either of its California branches.

It's the non-profit group, Environmental Defense Fund. Chances are you signed a petition of theirs and included your phone number and this is why they are calling. Either asking for you to take action or donate to their cause. I have received several calls from them over the past month or two. The mistake of adding my number was my fault in this instance. I do plan on asking to be removed from their database.
