I also had the same issue with that company.  I had also recently had a credit report done as well, only through Transunion though.  I have read about several other people having had credit reports done as well who were affected by this scam.  The credit report is the only commonality I have seen thus far...it must be related to that.

We did not receive a phone call, but had two charges on CC, one in Jan and second in April. Our son found this site for us, which got us on the ball to get the card canceled. CC bank took charges off, but the company who has their LOGO on our card got involved and Fed Ex'ed us new cards the next day.  What a great Company!!!
We also had an account with Equifax, which charged us $4.95 each month to watch our credit.  This is the exact amount we were billed by Coastal Web Solutions for the 2 months listed above.

I noticed a charge of $4.95 on my credit card.   I know I did not authorize the charge.  It was from Coastal Web Solutions.

I searched the internet and found CoastWebTech.com.  On the contact page, I found the phone number and it matched the phone # on my credit card statement.

I used whois.com and found the Web site registered to:

Richard Ayers
619 Silverwood St
Oceanside, CA 92054
Ph# 208-361-3929

I filed complaints with
www.ftc.gov
www.ic3.gov  (https://complaint.ic3.gov/)
Local Police
My Local Bank Internet Investigation dept
I disputed the Charge

The only way to stop the charges is to report the card stolen
and cancel the card immediately.   Then you have to separately dispute the felonious charges.

I just noticed that there was a charge of $6.95 from Coastal Web Solution on my credit card. As I monitor my spendings closely, I knew this was incorrect.
As I searched for this company, I came across to this website.

On my credit card statement, it lists the company along with the phone number 760-994-4853. I also signed up for EQUIFAX service last year which I just cancelled (coincidentally). That would be ironic if they are the one leaking our credit card number to these fraudulent companies.
I don't know whether I will just dispute the charge or change the account number yet.

I received a charge on my visa for 4.95 on 3/24/2008 from coastal web solutions phone 760-994-4853 and I have no idea how it got there. Some how it looks like they have some way obtained a list of charge card numbers and are illegally using them to scam people. These people have got to be stopped.

I have had this charge ($4.95) on my checking statement for two months in a row.  The first month I thought it might be something I forgot and let it go, but when I reconciled this morning, there it was again!  I'm going to report this to my bank tomorrow and see if we can stop it as it's coming right out of my checking account.

I also have purchased from Equifax.   Obviously, there's a problem somewhere as I have never signed up for a monthly credit monitoring program...

Checked my credit card statement and found a $4.95 fee from Coastal Web Solutions.  I called their phone number (same one listed above by Claudia81880) and got the recorded message "This mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages at this time" after which it hung up.  I have submitted a dispute of the charge to the appropriate company.

Last month I refinanced my mortgage, and part of that was credit scores from the three major credit scoring companies, so it may well be that Equifax is the lead-in to these charges.

Yes, I most likely did pay for a credit score from Equifax last year since I stay up on my credit worthiness.  My new credit card statement has a $4.95 charge from coastal web solutions...but the kicker is this is the second time in recent months it appeared.  Chase did reverse the first charge and I will call again to get this charge reversed as well.

Now thinking about it...keep your eyes on your email, I recall in the past couple of months that I received emails from Equifax and just deleted them without reading.  I did not sign up for any credit monitoring service, and as a matter of fact, I used freecreditreport.com and they had a monitoring service but I cancelled before 30 days and there was to be no charge.  Unfortunately I used that site instead of annualcreditreport.com (totally free unless getting credit score).

Now I am on a mission...will keep you all posted.

I didnt get a call from this number, what I did get was a debit on my account for $6.95 from a so called "company" under the name of Coastal Web Solutions. I tried calling them and the same thing happened; got a voicemail but didnt leave a message. I contacted my bank just now and disputed the charge. Now I have to wait to get a new card and sign some form. This blows!

I also have been scammed by this company. The card that they were drawing the money from was used a few months back to obtain a credit report from Equifax. I received a charge on my card from Coastal Web Solutions for $4.95 a couple of months ago and then again today for $2.95. I called my bank and they reversed both charges, however I had to cancel both of my debit cards and now have to wait 7-10 days to get new ones.

The same scam happened to me.  I was hit with a 4.95 and a 2.95 charge on my visa (cancelled today) from Coastal Web Solutions with the same #.  I'm currently working with my bank etc to reverse the charges and to file appropriate fraud reports (police, FCC, credit bureau).  Got the same phony message when I called.   I also did purchase credit report from Experion last summer...I wonder how they are getting the #s.

I also received fraudulent charges from this company.  I did not receive any phone calls, however I did have a 4.95 charge from them in October.  I tried to check at the time and never found out who they were.  I again received a 4.95 charge in February.  I did call the bank and cancelled my cards.  I also had a transaction with Equifax a few months prior to the October charge.  Should I be contacting Equifax also?  These creeps are making a fortune charging small amounts that may go unnoticed.

Yes, I used my card to pay for a credit report from Equifax, back in the summertime.  Ironic!

However, I've also used this particular card to pay for a ton of other things as well, so I'm really at a loss to know just where the security hole is.  Oh well, the card is canceled now so the hole is gone...just wish I knew where it originated.

Same story as you guys.  $4.95 charge.  Just curious if you all had used the card in question to pay for Equifax in the past.  They had problems where employees sold numbers to scammers before, this was the only other thing I had used my card for in the past few months.
