I got a call from this number I called it back and got some rude person who was suppose to be a manager.  She laughed at me as I tried to explain to her that I was going through cancer treatments and was unable to pay the bill then she asked for my checking information and then asked where I worked since I worked I will pay this bill etc.  These people are horriable people.  I hope one day this person has to go through a rough time and then see what it is like when the shoe is on the other foot.

They keep calling

I received a call from them while at work, and this very rude female kept asking for my income information.  I first told her not to call my work number, then I told her three times she didn't need my income information.  I said I may owe a medical bill, along with several other medical bills, and that I was paying them back one at a time as that was what I could afford.  She said she wanted my income info to determine if the amount I was paying was enough.  I said it was plenty and it was enough and they didn't need my income information as it was none of her business unless she had a court order, then she threatened to take me to court.  I told her you do what you need to do, as will I, then said goodbye and hung up.  She now calls my cell number every day but I don't answer because I am at work, and they never leave a message.  I let her know I was reporting her for violating the Fair Practice Laws!

They called my work where I speak on speaker phone typically and also phone calls are recorded. The lady who called from this number was not able to answer how she had received my contact info or who she works for, yet asked me to confirm personal details which I would never give a stranger over the phone.

When she realized she was on speaker phone she asked that she be taken off speaker phone. I confirmed that I would not take her off speaker phone and that she may be recorded, since she called my business. She hung up quite quickly (mid conversation) once she realized she would not be taken off speaker phone and that she would not receive any info from me until she disclosed the company she is working for and how she received my info. This does not sound like a legit company.

I agree they call you with an attitude and then expect you to listen to their nonsense.  Yea right I will act like I have amnesia.

You or your employer can inform the caller that you should not be contacted at your place of employment and then they should not call there again, especially if your boss is the one who tells them.

Unfortunately, if you do owe a debt this agency would still have the right to contact you based on that.
However, yes... you can put your cell number on the DNC list for telemarketing and such.

They called me at work, asked if I was married or had ever been married to a lady with the same last name, no it wasn't anyone I recognized and said "no", then they hung up. I called the number back after looking it up and questioned why they would randomly call me at work, ask a question like that and then hang up without any kind of  explanation? I turned the tables back on them for a call like that and told them not to do it again without causing a person to wonder about the call.

I got a call from this number twice in the last 2 weeks. As soon as I answer they hang up.

I just received a email from the main office of my employer and a email from a front desk co-worker both saying there was a call for me from an Emily for coltech. I'm like WHAT? Who is this and why are they calling my job?? Now after reading these I see they are a collector. Not cool of them to be calling my job!

"Mary Anne" left a message that pretended familiarity (but no one I know) without identifying her business or purpose. From what others have noted regarding this #, I believe it is a collection agency going by the name of Colltech Inc., based in Plymouth, MN.

Caller asked for my sister-in-law (who does NOT live with us). Said it had to pertain to a personal business account and made it sound urgent and asked for a phone number or address to reach her.

Caller asked for someone related to me (both have unlisted number) and does NOT live here.  Said it pertained to personal matter but would not give details.   I do not  give out message to others with knowing who the caller was and what that call pertained to.

I called the number back and was transferred to Katherine.  She checked my home number and verified I was not the person who they were trying to reach.  She claimed to remove my number from their database.  It appears to be a debt collector.

I am one of the lucky ones.  I received a call ONLY because I have POA over my dying sister's debts that are in collections.  The lady I got must have been a supervisor, because she was very understanding and patient.  Never in my life has a debt collector been compassionate and willing to come up with a solution without degrading me or harassing me into dealing with something I can't deal with on top of everything else.  This will probably be the last time I ever have something positive to say about debt collectors, but I thought the good should be noted, as well as, the bad-even if it's only 1% of the big picture.

Received this call for my step daughter who doesn't live here anymore. The lady I talked to (don't remember her name) was very pleasant when I explained my step daughter moved 9 months ago and she is basically homeless, we don't know where she is. She said she hoped we find her and hung up. Haven't received any more calls since.

Yeah, they called my cell while I was at work... Is there a way to put your cell on the national do not call list?

Okay first things first...you guys all can sue...there is an FDCPA that regulates collection agencies.  I got a message today saying "This is a debt collection agency" and they left it on my voicemail.  GUESS WHAT...all I have to do is bring a picture of the caller ID, a copy of the voicemail (including time day stamp) and get that in Conciliation Court and boom...I GET $1,000 for FDCPA violation.  Now if they also failed to mail me written notice of debt or I don't get one in a couple days there is a second violation.  Bad news is waiting for company info so I can sue them....but it's 500-1000 per violation....so I'm happy they called....ha ha

I received a call for my son, who is in college.  Not only were they rude, but they wouldn't even tell me the name of their company.  They call late at night but then do not answer the phone number they gave me.

Very rude people and they keep calling places of business asking personal information.  Rude Rude Rude!!!  Wish they would disconnect their systems.

I agree! This was by far the worst experience I've ever encountered with an agency like this. They are horrible to work with and the person (still don't know if it was a male or female but that's irrelevant) was so incredibly rude to me to the point where I was speechless (and I'm a pretty assertive person). I can't believe I even have to deal with them considering what they're hassling me about is a medical bill (which is a whole other story). But basically be prepared to have them say some nasty things to you.

I received a NASTY voice mail from Kimberly DEMANDING that I return her call IMMEDIATELY because she has left several messages previously and I had never called back. I'VE NEVER HEARD FROM THIS PERSON BEFORE IN MY LIFE! Never once has she called me, and I've got the call logs to prove it! I can already tell that this isn't going to go well.

So I call back, and receive a recording answering machine type message. They're only open 8:30a-5:00p Monday thru Thursday and 8:30a-3:00p on Fridays...but, I can "leave an appropriate message."

I did my part, I called her back, although I didn't leave a message. I won't be calling from work or my cell during their business hours (they're the same as mine), because I don't want them harassing those two phones as well.
