Receiving calls from this phone number too!  Can we not just report it to the Indiana "no call list" list keepers?  Seems to me if we have this law and it isn't being enforced then what is the point?

Yep, got a call from them this afternoon.  Caller ID said AFFILIATED VM.  I added their number to my rejected call list and now I won't be bothered by them again until they change their phone number or use a different number.  I don't like cops anyway!

yep. state police or whatev wanting $$$. caller ID says AT T MESSAGING. altho I graciously declined he just kept going on so I reiterated to him that I was not interested and still he kept on talking and I then told him the conversation was over and to stop calling me.

These calls from purported Indiana State Police (sometimes FOP, sometimes Troopers Association) usually begin in the fall and continue through the New Year at my house.  Even if you tell them you aren't interested they still call and bug you, sometimes every day, sometimes more than once a day. I think it must be some sort of illegality for them to post a called ID name that indicates AT&T (i.e. AT T MESSAGING) so they can fool you into answering.  Plus what is the point if when you answer, half the time they hang up anyway?
Makes not a lot of sense. The best indication that this might be a scam is that when they send you literature in the mail (which I have requested a few times), there is a disclaimer that your donation is NOT reportable for federal taxes.  That means not enough of it is used for the purpose they are saying for it to qualify as a legitimate charity. This has got to be bogus!

Ridiculous law that allows them to do this with no accountability; no message, no ability to call them back. Glad this site is here so at the very least, we can vent our frustrations----and, I was able to find out it was the police again. Jeez.

Tired of getting calls from this number? If you can't block it on your phone, get on the internet and go to the Indiana State Police website. Find the "contact us" link and send them a message asking these calls to stop.

The call is NOT coming from the Indiana State Police but from a company hired to collect money from one of the troopers groups ( Indiana Troopers Assn or Indiana State Police Alliance) or it is a complete scam.

To the best of my knowledge the state police groups DO NOT solicit any money for the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) and the Indiana State Police Department does NOT solicit money for any group.

If you need more, call your nearest state police post!

I receive calls from this number 3-4 times a week. I Googled the number and the caller I.D. information on it and all the links go to scammers. Don't these fist f***s have anything better to do with their time or did they get walked on all their lives for being nerds/misfits/deviants to the extent that they feel obligated to harass people they don't even know. I actually hope they keep calling. It'll keep me entertained.

Got a call from this number on 4-6-11.  Nobody said anything then hung up. Caller ID showed At messaging. Or maybe this is  Pooter from Brookston, playing games along with his cousins. Talk to mah son~~

good god they just wont stop will they?!? I get a call form them everyday i just don't answer but today i did and its the fraternal order of police asking for money. now don't get me wrong if i had it id give it (the money gos to their death benefits) but i don't have it and they are just so damn pushy. its not like you can hang up on them (hanging up on the cops is just a no no) were in a recession its like they don't get it. i feel as if they are trying to force me to give them my money and like many people iv got to pay the bills i cant just give it away. if you get a call form them and you don't have money to give don't answer the phone.

Back again folks.  Just got 4 calls in the same day from this same exact number.  One of them at 4 in the damn morning!

I HATE THESE SCREWHEADS!!!!  I wish someone would just like...bomb their HQ or something!  Do the victims of these 50-call-per-week robotic lowlifes some justice!

*Never* give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 90% for themselves and sends 10% to the charity. Best to find what charity they are collecting for, research the charity to make sure it's legit, get charity contact info from an independent source, then donate *directly* to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

I sure would appreciate if the number 765-454- 8918 would quit calling me. No wonder people won't give to worthy charities. These kind of people drive you crazy and won't take no for an answer unless you are rude to them. It makes no difference what time of day it is they call. Take NO for an answer.

If these people are legit, they would most likely be considered a charity and would not be covered by the do-not-call rules.  Indiana T.R. 45 has nothing to do w/ injunctions, but deals with subpoenas.

Fraternal Order of Police "want to thank me for buckling up by selling me a decal for $25 unless I'd like to upgrade to the $50 decal."  No, thanks.  I'll just keep buckling up.  Don't trust who they say they are.  SAID they are the Fraternal Order of Police.  Caller ID says AT&T Messaging.  When you call the number back it says they can't take messages.  Reading what everyone else has to say, it seems they don't know for sure what organization they are.

They circumvent the do-not-call because they are a non-profit (maybe) ... it is SUNDAY AFTERNOON. They just called.

The calls where there is no one there when 'you' answer are usually auto-generated ... they're determining the 'time' a 'person' is there to answer your phone ... I let my answering machine take those calls. The moment the machine answers, the auto-gen. dis-connects. If there is an actual person calling, my machine is set to answer in French (or Spanish,or German, or English, it wasn't expensive, just a feature I thought was cool); anyone who knows me, leaves a message ... telemarketers hang up immediately.

This number showed up as "AT&T Messaging" on my caller ID.

They hang up as soon as the answering machine picks up the call.   Pretty shady if you ask me.
