They called me and my fatherinlaw, about Identity theft and an old loan, that  I already paid off! Saying to call by the end of the day, or I will go to jail....ect...SCAM!

Received a phone call from Leonard Phillips, lead investigator for Cohen, Schwarz & Associates. Called back and was not able to speak to him (at lunch). Spoke with Miss Smith. Apparently regarding a payday advance from Loan Point USA in 2007 - balance of $170??
Report them to your local Atty Gen office for harassment and illegal debt collection practices.

Received a phone message stating that we were "linked to a matter" and were to call back immediately. The 2nd name they gave was Paul A. Colletti. Paul A. Colletti past away 5 years ago. We do not need these sick phone calls. This so called company never identified themselves. It is pretty sad to think these people can harrass innocent American people for no reason. We have no intention of returning these calls. Thanks for your help.

Received a letter the other day from National Credit Adjusters saying that they had taken the account back over from Investigative Recovery Services and wanted to re-establish my payment plan. Odd thing is the balance remaining was more than it should have been. I called them and stayed on the phone for 45 minutes and kept being put from 5th caller to 1st and back and forth, so I said forget it. Not sure what is going on with these companies, but fearful to send anyone any money now.

These people are scamers I called the RTFM and filed a complaint they told me that this company does not exist and it is a scam!!!!

I get the same thing threats to summon me and today Ms mahon advised me that my County police will be looking for me for a warrent they obtained for "deceptive theift" and they say that they are a law firm which they are a nasty collection agency.  I filed a complaint with the FTC  www.ftc.gov and was advised that this company does not exist and they are a scam, they also advised to go to the bottom of the page and click usa.gov then search payday loans, you will see that these collections agencys are under investigation by th FBI and icd internet crimes division.   anyone who gets herrassed by these foneys should file a complaint with the Consumer protection agency, FTC, BBB, icd.  good luck!

I got a call from a Mr. long at CSA saying that I needed to call or they will file a summons in jurisdiction if I didn't call by 5pm today.  He even called my grandparents home and I haven't lived there in years.   Thankfully I googled the number and found info about them.  They need to be stopped.  This is ridiculous.

This company keeps calling me about my son and a "serious" issue concerning his ss # yeah right... they said they want "more information to figure out what is going on with him"... I get these calls periodically and when I call my son he says it is a scam... Watch out people don't give ANY info out about yourself or anyone else w/o knowing exactly who they are.... This is illegal to keep calling me about my ADULT son in another state!!!!

I received a call on my cell phone this morning from this company saying a theft of services complaint was just received in their office for me. They asked for me, but thought they had my sons number, then said I must call today or they are forwarding the complaint to the county I live in for a theft of service investigation. If this is only a debt collector then these tactics are illegal.

this company "Cohen, Shwartz and Associates has called my home from a variety of different numbers. I wish I could get them to stop, it's a scam. They said the first time "You have bills that have been turned over to us and we're a collection company"  2 days ago they called and said "You have been reported for writing overdrawn checks, and your being watched. They will use any kind of scare tactics. I had a woman from Canada ask me on a different forum more information because she had given them her bank account to keep her from being extradited for using funds inappropriately. I wish the FEDS would do something to this company.
If you have a personal voice recorder I would call back and tell them that they are being recorded after they give you a big lecture of why they're calling. I did and it pissed them off, it was rather hillarious, I have them cussing me up a storm on a recording.

This place is calling my old home phone number and now my cell number telling me that a case is going to court, etc. They claim to be Choen & Schwartz a Debt Collection Law Firm. They leave a Toll Free number and a case number and tell me that they need to verify my SS#...yeah, right. This sort of crap is so irritating. The woman claims to be Miss Williams. I am so upset with these sort of scammers. Comeone needs to get the local police involved. They are listed elsewhere on this site by other numbers and names but all for the same place in Smyrna, GA.

just received a message from a young lady Ms Mahon at 770-239-6720 ext 831. She wanted a personal number to call but I would not give it to her and told her that I could not take personal calls at work. she needed to give me a number to call her back when I got a break. She stated that it was a personal matter and that she needed to speak with me before it went to my county attorney general office. I asked her who this was concerning and she would not tell me she said for my on personal rights at work. If they really want a call back they should be willing to give you the name of the person involved. Also, she stated wanted to talk to me before the cops came to pick me up at work. I told her to have a nice day and that they would not be coming to pick me up and to not call back. Sure this will not keep her from calling.

It's funny how majority of these complaints state the Samething. For starters they got in contact with my mother via text message. She forwards it to me and I immediately contact them. My first response is not to neglect these allegations but I distinctly recall this being paid off. In any case of debt we would investigate before I give payment information. This company was extremely unproffessionalism and rude. I asked questions regarding the cash advance loan and was told that I am acting like a victim when there client was the victim. I asked for the name of the company and there response was I'm not your secretary google that information. I was baffled completely shocked after they hung up on me. Was told prior to the hang up if i continue i was going to be sued for harrassment. So a few minutes passed I reached out to my family attorney and he calls them asked to forward all the documentation and went to provide the fax number then they hung up. So I call them again and they are like I can't speak to you have your attorney call. This whole situation completely upset me for I was threaten with jail time and fraud. If my funds were  even insuffient why are they treating me like s***. I was willing to comply but after the name calling and them not even trying to hear me I turned to this website for a complaint. they called here to tell me to get in touch with my daughter that they need to talk to her, it was very important. First complaint i have is, TELL THEM TO SPEAK ENGLISH, if they r making calls then they better know how mto speak the language. My husband + I r so upset that they r allow to call all hours of the day + four or five times a day, what makes u think if i didn't answer the first time u ask question y would i answer again. I would like them to stop calling.

They call our house threatening us with a law suit and telling us to return their call by today. They say that a complaint has been filed against my husbands social security number. How can I stop the calls?

got calls from them awhile ago, told them not to bother me that this was fraud, the guy was very rude. they started calling again. they called my work a couple of days ago and was asked if it was personell and then they hung up. they just called my cell and left a message stating that they need to speak with  me today or my lawyer and then they said good luck. I will continue to ignore them, because it is fraud. they can't come to your work or arrest you. you would need to get a summons in the mail.

these people called me also....... stated they represented Loan Point USA. said i owed 900. if i refused to pay i would have to go to court which would cost me 1500 then. that this is a hot check which has no end date. i paid this loan off. going to contact the District att today to see how i can stop these people from calling me. The cops said let them serve me, they can  not arrest you for a bad debt! The cops said they could be in another country using a magic jack which u can have any # u want to have so its hard to track them down. these people are a pain.

Yes the same thing here and I was about to give my information, but did not have the money today, and a swore I paid these people off, becasue the same like you and me these people where taking the money out of the account, and these people keep trying to tell me I wrote a bad check, and I kept telling him I did not write a bad check, but he was saying getting a pay day loan was the same thing and because I gave my account information I already think I gave them to much information as it is.  yes and he called my relatives which was and insult. I going to do some investigation also and find out what is really going on because if I may owe them like 100 bucks but I know I don't owe them $1100.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number everyday, 5 to 6 times a day and they are also calling family members and my place of employment.   I have mailed them a letter asking for validation and to stop calling till this whatever type of debt is validated but they keep calling.
