This is direct TV calling. I called direct TV yesterday for pricing. So far today I have gotten 3 calls from another number 3 emails and now this number has started to call. Now they say they will put me on a do not call list. Comcast doesn't sound so bad after all!

Same thing happened to me. She wanted my ss and threatened I wouldn't get the same offer if I hung up and compared. She was down right rude. What a joke. Now they are calling several times a day. Take a hike direct tv. Your high pressure techniques blew it.

Direct TV. Ugh. Annoying. I made the mistake of calling them first. I just wanted information - i got high pressure sales - they wanted my SS# before they could tell me "what I qualify" for... Morons. I hung up on them.. They lost a customer for sure.

first energy refferredmy name to these people called Connections who are supposed to assist you when you move, they basically try to sell you Direct Tv of some sort. They are very pushy and rude. They talk over you when you try to respond .

This is direct tv. We started to sign up but I was one the phone for 45 minutes just going though the process. You can get the same thing locally . They are also associated with Wild Blue internet. We did sign up for it on a Friday to be installed on a Wednesday. Took off work for it as they were suppose to be here between 8-12. They never should up or called. Call them twice. They had no one in this area to installed it and would call back in 24 hours. As of today it's been a week and a half!!! Hope everyone reads this before they buy unless they buy locally.

I've never asked them to call me about their products! I have been with my cable company for 25 years. I am also on the do not call list. If they call again I am going to report them!

Yup - Direct TV - or Direct Star TV. I called to get info to compare. We figured out the plan and the price and then she wanted to begin collecting my billing info. I reminded her I was simply calling for info. She said that if I didn't sign up then and there, she could guarantee the "deal" she was giving me would still be valid. In fact she stated that the sign-up fee or whatever, of $9.95 would not be waived of I called back.
I told her that one reason I called, I was tired of being nickel-and-dimed by Comcast, and it looked as though Direct TV would be no different.
The only way they'll stop calling it if you answer the call and request they put you on their "Do Not Call List" or you call them and ask the same. They have to comply, and can be nailed a significant fine if they call you after that. Of course, you have to be able to prove it - hence a recorded conversation.

I just bought a Sony Blue Ray DVD Player the day before yesterday and had to sign up online for access to their netflix feature so that I could watch netflix. Then, yesterday, I got 2 phone calls in a row from a number in North Carolina first (704) 627-9660 and then 2 more phone calls from direct star tv shortly after. All of this happened around 8:30 p.m. But on the sony website, I unchecked the "check here for promo's and solicitations etc... Also, I signed up with Netflix a month ago and about the same time I signed up with Clear Wireless. This is the only way telemarketers can get your cell phone is when you sign up for services; at least, I think so. But, it appears that even if you uncheck the solicitation box they still bother you.
Stay on the phone with them and interrupt them by telling them to put you on their Do Not Call List. Tell them several times. Even tell them that you are recording the conversation and ask for their name. If they persist, inform that you are going to file a complaint with the BBB and that the telemarketers name along with the companies will be submitted in the complaint. This should stop any more phone calls.

I found it all hilarious. When asked how many tv's I had, I replied "well, none, actually. I'm moving tonight and haven't gotten to that yet". He couldn't believe it, it was almost funny. He ended the call saying things like "you're moving tonight? That's going to be terrible, just terrible, just to let you know" and laughed. Well, sir, it'll be okay since I'm not signing on with you. I almost enjoy these calls just so I can laugh at HIM. My roomie wanted me to check into them, and after all this, I'm telling her if she wants them, she can get the calls, I'm done.

Got a call from this number around 2:00am, WTF? Don't telemarketers have any professionalism at all? I didn't answer, except with a hang-up, which is the way I deal with most telemarketers. Instead of saying "no", just hang up!
