My wife got this call on her cell phone - the caller said his name was Tim and claimed to be calling from Travelodge in Orlando FL, where my son is staying for a few days (I paid for the room on my credit card through Travelocity).  'Tim' said they had accidently charged my card for 2 rooms, and needed my credit card number so he could void the charge and re-enter it correctly.

My wife thought this sounded suspicious, and didn't have my credit card with her anyway, so she took Tim's number and told him she would have me call him back.  I called Travelocity instead, and verified that the charges had already been processed through them (no reason for Travelodge to charge my card at all), and that everything was correct.  

I then called the Travelodge at the number listed in the Travelocity info - they told me there is no "Tim" employed there, and the number that called me is not even in their area code.

No idea how this guy got my wife's phone number, or how he knew our son was staying in Orlando.
