i just got a call from the same person you all did. My company is also a Veteran Owed Business. He stated that he was going to give me air time on the radio station during this Memorial Day. He then gave me prices on all packages  and stated that past customers of mine recommended me to him. The only problem with this is that i am a brand new company and havent even had a customer yet. lol. so i know this is a scam. Its a shame that  people go this low and use our military to get money. i hope he gets caught ASAP!! Please no one send him any money.

I think he is getting our names from Veteran sites like - Veteran Owned Business. he called me today at 2:21pm telling me how his station is doing this big Welcome Home for returning Veterans in September. he knew about my company in FL. My company is on Veteran Owned Business.

I told him to email me. he hasn't yet.

Beware and be careful. I will not give him anything now.

I just got a call today as well, he said he was with a very popular radio station, but never said the station name. He said I could make payments also and my word was as good as a contract with him.  He said that I would be contacted by his assistance for my package to be sent to me. Her number was restricted and she insisted on a credit card so I asked her to call back later. Again she called and I told her that James said I could be billed even though I did not think a radio station would let you make payments.  I told her to bill me and I know for sure it was a scram after seeing this site.  I am a retired veteran.  I also searched the internet for such a event and I am involved with the chamber of commerce and we get information on all events.

Got a call on my cell phone yesterday and was left a voicemail, talked as if he knew me! He called back again this morning I answered and he used the name Jim Doradey and said his was with WCGL News and Sports Radio the Executive Producer (very fast talker) and they are supporting our troops that are returning in August and attempted to sell my part time business airtime to the tune of $600 since they had heard such great things about my business. Said he had spoke with alot of my customers and they raved about my quality of work and felt this would not only support the troops but help my business as well. He even played the made up ad...well the truth of the matter is they haven't spoken with any of my customers and the WCGL station in my area is a Gospel station and they have nothing as such going on. After I explained to him that I had a handful of customers and know them all personnaly and didn't believe that he had spoken with any of them and that I'm a retired military member myself, he was all of sudden at a loss for words, when asked which of the customer's he had spoken with he said that his interns do the contact and couldn't say which one's. Needless to say the call ended shortly thereafter. I believe my information was obtained from the Veterans Owned Business website but not really sure...that's were my personal name, business name and cell number are all listed together. Anyways be careful here for sure...up to no good I believe

Got a call from this number and a guy left a message as follows. "Hey Chuck, it's Jim Doradey over here at the WMBL radio news and sport. Ah, if you could give a call back, I just want to give you a quick holler. We have something going on for the military guys com'n up here. Please give me a call, thanks Chuck."

I searched both phone records, WMBL radio stations in that area, and Jim Doradey... nothing came up. Be careful folks as there's a lot of scams going on out here.

 CALLED SAYING HE WAS PUTTING TOGETHER A WELCOME HOME GIG FOR TROOPS RETURNING HOME FOR SOME RADIO STATION.  TALKED ALL SORTS OF SMACK ABOUT HOW GREAT MY BUSINESS WAS AND HOW HE KNEW I WAS SUPPORTING THE TROOPS.  I CUT HIM OFF AND HE WAS NOT HAPPY.  MY IMPRESSION IS THAT HE IS A PHONE SCAMMER, LEACHING OFF OUR MILITARY!!!  I AM A VETERAN AND I PRAY HE GETS CAUGHT!

CALLER ACTED LIKE HE KNEW ME PERSONALLY...CALLED ME BEAUTIFUL AND HON....STATED HE WAS PULLING TOGETHER A FUNDRAISER FOR OUR TROOPS COMING HOME. CALLER WAS VERY OFFENDED THAT I CALLED HIM ON HIS BEHAVIOR AND THAT I BELIEVED HIM TO BE A TRYING TO SCAM ME USING OUR TROOPS TO DO SO. I TERMINATED THE CALL.
