This number called my cell phone first as "unknown caller"  then call my "unlisted" home number.  Neither time no message left.   Sounds like a scammer.

It's the Fraternal Order of Police looking for $$$.

Got another call from 773-295-1981. Did not answer and they do not leave messages.  Must be telemarketing. I am on do not call list. Tired of these calls, why do I still have a land line?

I have been receiving calls from this Apostol Penny (773) 295?198?1 I try to block the call, but somehow this person seems to keep getting through.

this number calls and leaves a noise on my answering service that sounds like they are using a cell phone driving down the road and holding it out the window.  they call at least twice each evening.

I keep receiving calls from this number.  A message is left but it is just static.  I phoned the number back and an automated message states that it is the "Fraternal Order of Police - Troopers Lodge # 41" and that they are in the midst of their fundraiser and will call you back. It also states that you may call customer service at 800-584-5341 if you have any questions.  I did not try calling this number yet.  I don't know if this is legitimate or not, but I make it a habit to never give donations based on a phone call anyway.  Just wanted to share the information.

They are posing as a charity. Charities can call you even if you are on the Do Not Call List.

Announce they are the Fraternal Order of Police asking for a donation.  A VERY OLD SCAM!

We were getting Apostolic Penny calls all the time. Phone just rang (9 am on Saturday, btw) caller Id was 7632951981. Penny must be trying to outsmart us. We didn't answer. Alain on DNC.

They left no message (typical) since it's just another one of the crap numbers that continue to call.  Everyone already knows that the Do No Call Registry is a total JOKE!!!!  The system is worthless.

This number calls my house at least 2-3 times a day, including early Sunday mornings.  I haven't answered this particular one, but I've been caught by similar ones.  If I want to be bothered to take the time to mess with them, I start asking questions about the organization: how does a person go about getting help from your group, what number can they call to get your help, what percentage of your intake goes to administrative costs, are you a paid employee of this company, do you get paid for making these calls, how much do you donate to this organization, what is the name of your CEO, etc.  By this time they have usually hung up on me and often don't call back.  If they persist with the call, I refuse to give credit card info over the phone and tell them to mail their info to me so I can look it over and decide whether to donate.  I have NEVER YET received anything from any of them through the mail.

3/24/12: #773-295-1981 has called several times this week. "Apostol Penny" is what the caller ID reads. We never pick up, caller never leaves message, and this is getting tiresome. I'm sure another request for donations. We give enough, to several orgs. via mail request only, now. I/we are really getting ticked off.

interesting- I had no clue what or who Apostol Penny was and so thought would google it. Lo and behold more folks have had these calls. Oh well, doesn;'t bother me any, just another caller that we ignore. Springfield, Illinois

Third call in six days. Were told not to call. Have been reported to the DNC registry.

A third call. I answered and told them we are on the DNC registry and told them not to call again. We shall see...

Another call - second since Monday. I'll wait for Jesus himself to call, not one of his second stringers. Reported again to DNC.

Got a call and we just hung up. Second call from them I believe. Last was a few months ago. Reported to Do Not Call regsiter. Apostal Penny - I know about  Peter, James, John, etc so when did Penny make it to the Twelve?

We do not know a Penny Apostol and when we answer the call, the person just hangs up.

I received a call from Penny Apostol 773-295-1981 (info on caller ID).  I did not answer, and she left no message.

i got a call from them.  when i answered which i usually dont  they hung up.  i called back and all i got was gibbish and didnt understand it. also   with static on the line.  its a scam alright.

this number called today. I didn't answer b/c I didn't know it. Thanks to all of you for reporting this. Now I know what to expect next time they call. Think blowing a whistle will work? I am on the do not call list. Funny how they find us anyways.
