There is no scam here.  Tax lien filings / recordings are public information.  All the tax resolution firms contact those who have tax issues to see if they can help.  People can help themselves, but if they knew what they were doing, they wouldn't get themselves into trouble with the IRS.  Safe Harbor Financial Consultants, LLC is a firm comprised of tax attorneys and enrolled agents (enrolled agents are licensed to represent the public and shield them from the IRS) and are legitimate. They do not purchase your information, it is public information when it is recorded with the county recorder in your area. If you do not want the IRS to levy your bank accounts, seize your assets or file tax liens which ultimately get found by all three credit bureaus, Safe Harbor Financial Consultants, LLC can help. Most people do not want to deal with the IRS and need representation in order to not only turn their situation around, but also to learn how to maintain it themselves in the future. Small businesses, in particular, have enough to worry about, with respect to running their business rather than dealing with the state or IRS threatening to close their doors.   If you don't want or need their help, simply tell them you will communicate with the IRS directly. It's that simple.

Not sure what all this chat is about. If you do your diligent research with the BBB, there are no complaints with this company. Otherwise, the rest of these comments are worthless.

I don't get what you're implying. Safe Harbor Financial Consultants helps people with their taxes, and you're stating that SC Tax Department (Department of Revenue for South Carolina) is calling and it is a scam.  This doesn't make any sense. I received a call from Safe Harbor offering to help me with my taxes, and I was looking into information about their company when I came across this page. Why on earth would you call them a scam when they have nothing to do with your state's department of revenue? I've had some lengthy conversations with a person by the name of Sam Fisher who seems genuine; I just wanted to look into the history of the company before moving forward.

I got a call from this outfit, claiming to *need* to speak with a rep of my company regarding a tax lein.  We have no current lein and are working directly with the IRS on our back taxes.  He was very rude and combative.  I think these guys are scavengers that purchase information from banks or use FOIAed documents to harass.  There's no way I would put such schuysters in a position to handle my legal and financial affairs.

Received a call from a Mr. Roberts at Safe Harbour and heasked to speak to the Business Owner.  I told him the owner wasn't available and that any tax related questions should be addressed to our Accountant.  He laughed at me and continued to chuckle when I repeatedly told him that there is no on here at the office right now and that I will relay his name and number to the Accountant and Owner. He just continued to snicker and then rudely hung up the phone. His number 773-360-2116.

Guy asks questions, tells us we have a tax lien, and hangs up when he's not getting the answers he wants. Blocked the number, but called back to get the company name -  "James Deluca, Safe Harbor".  Kinda feel bad for him... get a job, dude.

This is Safe Harbor Financial Consultants, they have two locations, Westminster, CO and Chicago, IL.  I went to the trouble to research all of these types of companies.  Names, addresses, google research, BBB research, and in some cases supreme court research.  Thousands of people hire these companies every month.  I tried to be as impartial as I could, ?just the facts.?  Some of them have multiple locations, and some of them have multiple names in the same location.  14 Linked reviews for all the companies are at the bottom of the article.

If you want to read the article, google ?safe harbor financial consultants 800notes? and scroll through the results until you see:  irsbacktaxhelp.wordpress.com and click, might be on the second page of results.  It will help spread the word.

The guy interupts breakfast, asks questions about corporate finance features that we do not have or may have under some other name, when i ask questions regarding what he is talking about and what he means, he calls me a jerk and hangs up.
I call back to complain and he again hangs up.
Certainly less than professionl.
