He Called me and we set up an ad. I requested dates and times of ads. I called them to check on the script and the name of my business and phone number were wrong  When the ads were supposed to run the station was off the air! It's such a small station they have no crew to respond to calls. Total scam, oh and now they are going to send FCC log proof! It just keeps getting better! Folks these crooks are good, now they use a private number. Scam

This is an annoying occurence, although it may be legit, but IDK.
if I tell you I cant give you my boss' cell phone number there is no reason to get huffy with me. I think we may have used them once before for radio advertising. But i'm unclear on the details but if they were satisfied my boss wouldnt be telling me to get messages and tell them shes not here. very rude, thw wrong attitude to have to get business if you ask me. hope this is helpful

He was selling sponsorship spots for our local non-commercial station. If I want a spot on my local station, I will call my local station.

Called asking for "Mrs." (name of owner).  Asked who was calling and the purpose of the call, was told Michael Clark with KTWL, they were trying to get participation in a program helping to raise awareness of child/teen drug abuse.  Have received calls from this # before, they usually don't leave a message or say what they are calling for.  I gather from other posts left here, this is probably a company trying to get you to buy radio advertising to support a charitable cause.  Due to the nature of our business we do not advertise, so these people are wasting their time.

This number repeatedly calls our business.  I told the guy we have spent all of our advertising budget.  He said it wasn't about advertising so I told him to put us on their do not call list.  He said there was no such thing so I told him to quit calling.  He said no that he would keep calling.  Classy guy.

This guy just called me with a pitch about Drunk driving and drug awareness for graduates.  Sounded legit but got very rude when I told him this wasn't our target market or ad group and that radio wasn't the way we advertised.  He got VERY belligerent with me and when I asked him to mail us the information he hung up on me.  I was pissed and called the radio station he claimed to be with to file a complaint.  They'd never heard of him and had no ads running.  Further more he is trying to charge between $350 - $500 for a radio spot (which made me suspicious) and the radio station was shocked because that is way more than they charge for slots. So this guy is really scamming!  DONT give him any payment info - DO ask what radio station and then report him to the station and the police!

Man says he with a "local" radio station wanting to promote domestic violence month looking for donations. Asked him who owns the broadcasting company.  He couldn't tell me.  I knew he was fake, especially with a (773) area code. I was in broadcasting for many years, I know them all.

This guy called me from Radio Accounting and had a radio ad ready for my business.  It sounded great over the phone and the prices were good.  I authorized the spots and they sent me a script and an award for doing it!!  I listened to the radio and heard my spots, everyone I know that listens to that station heard them and loved it.  I have had a few customers come in and say they liked the ad.  I will be happy to do it again.

I signed up for a back to school message before researching this company (very unlike me) but once I called the radio station, they assured me they do in deed use the outside service. I called Ms. Pearl to change my ad and was told to fax my changes in. Though I didn't receive confirmation, I heard my messages on the radio and was very please with the quality & result. I knew something good came out of it when my son's teacher told me she heard it and asked how she can get involved. I only wish more people cared enough to take a risk on the unknown.

ok.. ill tell you. I cant resist. I used to work for this company. Alot of good people do.. ill tell you the best way to get back at them for bugging you. (even though i shouldnt.. because i used to be in this industry.. and yes folks, its an "industry".. many of these buggy "telemarketers" make 100k+ calling you saps) but anyway.. let the guy, or gal, go through his or her pitch.. give you the dollar amounts.. and just go along with the whole thing.. agree to purchase the ad.. thats what it is.. a radio ad. The saleman will say "i appreciate it... going to record billing info.. verbal non-cancellable agreement" etc... just say.. yes yes yes... and authorize the sale. The saleman will hang up.. write his happily made sale on a giant board (with thousands of other sales on it, the company easily do 80-90k a week in sales) A few minutes.. maybe even an hour later.. some other a***ole will call you back to "verify" the sale. this MUST be done. When this guy calls back.. say "I was just f***ing with him.. i dont want this." The sale then goes back downstairs to the saleman who gets gutshot with his cancelled order.. as it translates to hundreds off his paycheck. Yes, these guys make hundreds off each sale and many make 25+ sales per week. Its the f****ng worst feeling to get a cancel.. trust me. So just do that. Thats better than all this "I let him get all the way through his spiel and said not interested" b***s***. We're better than that. Frankly, we're better and smarter than you. We've got some of the best salemen in the country and only one or two of you f***s read this crap anyway. So if you want to "get these guys" ... thats how you do it. But they are way better than you are anyway.. so they'll probably hang up the phone saying "that guy agreed way to easy.. probably f****ng with me." Cheers.

I have worked for this company. I just left recently actually. Now I work for another company doing the same thing. Why you may ask. Presumable I would have a biased opinion but this is not so. I am a realist. I talk to many people who have heard their messages and been completely satisfied and then do another program (the only reason I continued to work there after my first month).
I tried to find any little thing to determine if I had just been employed by a scam company and if my well being was at risk, but this was not the case. As one poster said there are many companies that do this. Can I vouch for them all? No. Am I vouching for Radio Adverting Services or RAS the Bane of all you posters existence? No. But for the most part this is a legit practice. I never say I am calling for a station or am there in your area. That?s misleading misrepresentation and borderline scamming. I am not afraid to give a return number to reach me even my cell in some cases. I have had to put people in direct contact with the station manager and then call them back and sign them and usually for a re larger program after legitimacy was established. The station will always vouch for what we are doing. These companies buy unused airtime in bulk (mostly during peak drives times) and put a message out raising awareness on different issues in your community, sponsored by local businesses like yours. If I didn?t believe in this I would not do it. I actually write my own messages and I do care about teenage kids doing drugs like crystal meth. I think working with nearly 100 radio stations nation wide is a great way to get my message out there. I have gone on for too long but I want to end on an advertising angle because that's all you people care about here anyway. Here is one more reason to advertise across many platforms. According to recent research from Integrated Media Measurement, Inc. (IMMI) advertising across platforms increases the reach of advertising campaigns. Advertising across platforms is a proven method of attracting more consumers or simply engaging more consumers because they see and hear the ads many more times than one simple commercial during a television program, for example. Well (owner name) that was a mouth full. So can you do the two weeks (owner name) or would the one week be a bit more comfortable for you. Have a good day (owner name).

Caller came through as Radio advertising claiming to be from radio station who knows. He had put together an ad for us to sponsor drug abuse. The ad read very well but I told him I was not interested and he would not stop and was not going to take no for an answer. I told him no at least three times and asked him if he didn't get it. He tried to bully me also and ended the conversation very rudely! This was my second call by this fraud!

If you are Canadian DO NOT add your name to the Canadian list.  American Telemarketers will buy that list and then phone you.  I was stupid and I also registered my cell.  I see that when they call my home within 30 minutes they are calling my cell. DO NOT REGISTER YOUR NUMBER!!!!!!!

Got a call from this number, told me XXXX sports radio, asked me to sponsor a radio PSA for "Child Abuse Prevention Month," read me the entire PSA and wouldn't stop talking (very loudly) so I could tell him that I didn't buy unsolicited advertising on principle. Kept him on the phone because it was entertaining and I could do other things while he was talking. He tried to bully/guilt-trip me. He was persistent and aggressive but he was not rude and he did not get angry.

I'm the President of a company in San Diego and I received a voice mail with caller id 773-478-0800. They probably called in asking to speak with
"the boss". They left a 2 minute music recording.  "You may be wrong but you may be right" by Billy Joel and "Open Your Heart to Me" by Madonna.  No words were spoken.  I felt the music selection may have been deliberate, like from an ex-employee or a stalker.  Pretty creepy.

Also, I just called my phone company and they have this thing where you can block certain phone numbers from calling you.  So you can call your local phone company and ask about that.  It only cost me around $6 to add it and they said that once I register the number that that person won't be able to get through anymore.

Also, check this site...https://www.donotcall.gov/

Hope this helps some of you!

The man's name is MITCH.  I called the number back and asked to speak to the man that keeps calling about a donation and they sent me to him, I guess b/c they thought that I was going to donate.  MITCH, that's him for sure.  I hope this helps some of you.  I've asked to be taken off the calling list a ton of times but they keep calling.  MITCH MITCH MITCH.  I'd call 773-478-0800, 713-478-0800 and speak to the person to be taken off the list.

I just got a call from this number claiming that they were representing "the large sports talk radio station in my area". They claimed they were selling advertising on the air for small businesses for charitable causes (abused children, it was). I am a sports talk radio fan, but didn't recognize the call sign of the radio station they gave me. The call sign matched that of a very small college radio station in this area. Because this area code is out of Chicago, and they claim to be working with a VERY small college radio station in my area of NC, I feel I have reason to be suspicious. I will be contacting this University, and possibly the authorities.
