We got a call this a.m. at 8:30 from the Milwaukee police, the first part of the message was in Spanish, then it said it was the Milwaukee police, press 0 to talk to an officer.  I pressed 0, talked to someone from the police dept. saying he had some very distrubing news about a traffic accident, our number was in the cell phone found in the car, but he needed me to call Denis Smith back at a *72 number, he couldn't give us any more info.  I called that number many times, the line was always busy.  Then we got another call from the same man saying he needed us to call Denise McDow back at another *72 number, that number was also busy.  After an hour of this, we started thinking that everyone we know would have had ID with them, their car would have been registered and they would have had insurance so police would not be calling numbers on their cell phone.  We *69 the number (we don't have caller ID) and got 773-847-8862, and I searched the internet for it, came up with this page.  It disgusts me that someone thought this was a prank.

Called at 1:22pm and said someone had me on their emergency contact list and that I needed to call *72,1-773-887-4436 asap. He claimed to be officer Hill. When I called a man answered and said "He stepped out to check on an accident."

A few minutes later, officer JOHN called asking if I got in contact with officer HILL. Asked me to try again. This time I changed the name... when the man answered I said "I am supposed to call officer DELKO".  He said "Officer DELKO stepped out to check on an accident victim."

Do NOT fall for this scam!
Called at 8:00am saying someone had me on their emergency contact list and was in an accident.  I needed to call 1172-1-773-887-4436 for more information.  He claimed to be officer Ricky Ware.  The caller ID said PRISON and gave this number.  Interestingly enough, there is a Ricky Ware listed as recently paroled from an Illinois jail.  I don't have long distance calling on my land line, so I couldn't make the call and by the time I'd thought it through, it all just seemed a little fishy.
Bottom line: people suck and I wish this guy would redirect some of his energy into getting a friggin' job and contributing to society rather than trying to rip people off.

call started automated line in spanish... lisended to message and then hit 0 ....caller said he was officer baker and were investigating a an accicient and our number came on on ladies caller id and wanted me to call the officer back on the scene at a diffrent number than what came up on caller id and i was to hit *72 before dialing 773-619-6381...got several calls from this number in a row.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend - 11/21 thru 11/25 we got 25 calls (checked by scrolling down our list of missed calls) from a variety of phone numbers, all identified as PRISON.  Last evening after we returned from a short vacation, we received four calls in a row, one after the other, all after 9:30 p.m.  We're turning on the mute on our phone ringer, but that will prevent legitimate people from reaching us too!

Caller ID said Prison. Did not call back.
