They called today. I picked up by mistake - thought it was a friend of mine. Male voice asked for me by my first name! I asked what they wanted. He said he was fundraising for homeless veterans. Got kind of pushy and insistent. So I hung up, and blocked the call.

Called on 06/13/2013 at 7:08 PM.  Caller ID shows "Telenet & Assoc."  Did not leave a message.

So far, just one call.  There was a huge delay right after I answered, which should have tipped me off. Then the voice of a younger man came.  It appeared that he was soliciting for veterans. I was already on another call, so I told him that I was unable to speak.

www.dexknows.com says that it is a landline, but no identity is given without $$$.

Identified as "Illinois Call".  This is the first from this number.  No message left on voice mail.

Claimed to be "[something I couldn't understand] AKA the Police" and wanted me to give money to help "the children."  I assumed it was a scam, said "No, sorry," and hung up.

Like one of the older posts, picked up the phone and heard a lot of background noise.  He said he was with the TIA?, but it was for Viet Nam veterans.

I was not home when this call was made.  It went onto my answering machine and all I could hear was a bunch of people jabbering in the background for what seemed like a minute or more.  Caller ID showed "Illinois Call".

Received a call, I said hello and hold music started playing. No one ever picked up.

I have gotten hang up calls from this number.  I suspect it is Santander?  A collection agency that has called me for more than a year looking for someone else.  I have repeatedly told them to take my number off their list and yet I still get hang up calls from them.  I have reported them to the Gov Do Not Call List and will contact my lawyer if I get another one.

Called and left no message. They call about 6 - 8 times a day.

Same as some others.  They called and hung up without leaving a message.  If it is somebody fundraising for "police," then it's a professional fundraiser, which may or may not be legitimate, which will take 80% to 90% of every dollar you donate.  Don't fall for their scheme!

This number has kept calling my home for various days and at different times. As the number is not familiar to me, I do not pick it up. It should be stop if people like us join forces.

We receive intermittent calls from this number.  I don't answer any more because they are listed in my phone's address book under "Charity for Police."

I have a feeling that this is one of those organizations that does do charitable fundraising, but most of the money collected goes toward "administrative" costs rather than to the charity itself.

Received call from 773-922-5743. Sounded like they listened, but not talking. Probably trying to figure out who is at home. Looking for potential victim house....???

Said he was from the police and wanted to talk to my wife to thank her for her support.  When told to just pass along the thanks he threatened that he would keep calling every day until he got to talk to her.

Did not state who party was. Since this was a repted call from the night beforeand there was no number to press to take me off thier calling list I waited over 30 seconds and no one picked up. I hung up. This is a robo caller which I thought the FTC has banned. If previous messages are correct its from a police organization its funny they are breaking the law by not allowing for a call removal and robo calling..
