yep me too. same thing wanted my personal mailing address, did not even try to talk me down in price and offered additional 50.00 plus stated they were out of town and could not come see it.  These sh*ts have ruined a good thing on craigslist.

Scammer responding via text to CL ad in maryland.  They ask if "the item" is still available. Avoid them.

They texted me for an item I'm selling in Craigslist. Said they'd give me an extra $50 to hold it as they're out of town for a while. But could only pay me in money order.
I told them I would accept cash or Paypal only and would hold the item only after I was paid. Haven't heard back.  Stupid scammers

If you want to help catch these criminals agree to take the check.  When it arrives, Do NOT CASH OR DEPOSIT the check.  Take it to your bank with any identification information on the sender such as a delivery address to ship your item to or the name and contact information for any third party pickup service the buyer specified. Ask to speak to someone at the bank that deals with check fraud.  Explain your concerns and ask them to investigate and determine if the check is real or not.  If it turns out to be fake, ask them to forward all the information to the proper authorities for investigation.  After you receive the check if you get inquiries from the buyer truthfully tell them you are waiting for the bank to notify you that the check has fully cleared the system.  If the check is actually legitimate, apologize to the buyer and explain that with all the scams out there you had to be certain the check had cleared before sending the product/items.

Yes, I also had a text from them. They are scammers who try to lure you in sending them your item that you have posted on craigslist. The check they send clears for the first business day and then immediately after is declined. Just enough time for you to send them your product..BE AWARE. only take cash in person.
