THIS IS A SCAM!

I had a very intelligent converation with a "Sgt. Lewis Marcus" claiming to be with the DEA last year who proceeded to speak to me (as an attorney).  My client got another call from a Special Agent Anthony B. Williams. When I told him I discovered his scheme and was going to see he was prosecuted he said, "I'm going to kill you and your family." "I know you and you have a son and a daughter." ) Which, coincidently, I don't have.)

He alleges to be from Field Division 97 San Francisco CA.

It's complete BS! I called the DEA in San Francisco and reported the phone number to the desk duty.  They are aware of it and have referred it to thier HQ. The officer stated if they want you, they are going to come after you with a warrant and arrest you at your house.  (Which, coming from a background incriminal defense is absolutely true!)   Google the phone number and see what happens. The DEA has addressed the scam in a press release advising NOT to provide any information or payment.

It's a brilliant scheme really:  order Rxs online and then they sell the info to these scam artists to scare people out of money.  That being said, it is a crime to buy Rxs online without a face to face with a doctor. So, please, word to the wise, don't buy online scripts.

I received a call in work on my cell from a man claiming to be an Special Agent for the FBI and that I purchased some pills in 2007 over the phone from Florida that were really from the Dominican Republic and  it is against federal laws to purchase drugs from another country so I had a hearing in 10 days in Washington DC. As soon as I told him I had to speak to my lawyer he hung up. I really couldn't talk to see what he had to offer but as soon as I told him I had t speak to a lawyer he hung up I got a call like this 2 years ago and he told me I could pay a fine of $2000 and they would let me go.I figured out it was a SCAM and hung up.

This call yesterday seemed real I called the number back and got an answering machine claiming to be from the FBI problem is I didn't buy any pills in 2007 over the phone and I don't know how they got my name.

I received the exact same intimidating treatment from this guy claiming to have the same name--Sgt. Gill Morales, but from another phone number--301-327-7253. Beware everyone! He's well-schooled in interrogation techniques and this is a total scam.

I received a call from a "Special Agent" Joe Morales..who claims to be a FDA Special agent badge number 1203.  This is a scam artist trying to allege that you have committed crimes and want to give you a "Second Chance."    (He indicated that laws in the Dominican Republic had been broken.)  I asked for the desk sergent...and he would not transfer me or give me info.  He would also not tell me what section of what law I was alleged to violate. He did give me the "switchboard." 301 327 7253.  Some woman answers and pretends to be apart of the FDA.  She will not give their location.
Beware and call the REAL FDA Office of Criminal Investigations and report this person and phone number - the Real FDA office of Criminal Investigation is: 1800 521 5783. You can verify by going to the www.fda.gov site.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as FDA special agents and other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scam.

The criminals call the victims -- who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the Internet or via "telepharmacies" -- and identify themselves as FDA special agents or other law enforcement officials.

The criminals inform the victims that purchasing drugs over the Internet or the telephone is illegal, and that law enforcement action will be pursued unless a fine or fee ranging from $100 to $250,000 is paid. Victims often also have fraudulent transactions placed against their credit cards.

The criminals always request the money be sent by wire transfer to a designated location, usually in the Dominican Republic. If victims refuse to send money, they are often threatened with a search of their property, arrest, deportation, physical harm, and or incarceration.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be an FDA or other law enforcement official who is seeking money to settle a law enforcement action for the illegal purchase of drugs over the Internet should refuse the demand and call the FDA?s Office of Criminal Investigations Metro Washington Field Office at (800) 521-5783 to report the crime.

FDA special agents and other law enforcement officials are not authorized to impose or collect criminal fines. Only a court can take such action, with fines payable to the U.S. Treasury.

turn this man in!!! file a report with your local authorities and fbi.  he is out of control and needs to be stopped.  my story is very similar to everyone elses.  he was rude, yelled at me, and threatened me, and constantly harrassed me too.  claims to be an FDA agent and is delusional.  i cant believe someone has the nerve to call all of these people and go to the lengths he has to continue a scam like this. i only worry about the people that it works on.

You have nothing to worry about.  Tell your employer that you are concerned about a phone call you rec'd at your desk and that you are being scammed.   Tell Sgt. Marcus you know he's a con and he will stop bothering you to search for his next victim. Call the FBI, too, I did.

I just got the same phone calls to my home and cellular.  When I spoke with Sgt. Louis Marcus he said that I am in possession of a controlled substance and I will have to go to court next week.  I immediately told him not to call me again and then I hung up on him because A.) I don't do drugs and B.) he had an ugly tone.  He called me several times and left messages for me then for my husband saying that his wife is 'in denial' and I am going to prison and that he is a federal agent working on an international case and if I don't call him, he will reopen the case.  I have to admit, I'm always a little suspicious of 'government authority' and was concerned this might be a case of identity theft or wrongful accusation.  Thank God for the internet and so glad I found this site and these stories!  Now my husband's going to call the good Sgt. and mess with him---where can we send the money, please get her out of trouble, etc., etc.

I also received a call from Sgt. Louis Marquez and he does sound real and convincing. He continues to call me and tell me that I will be going to jail and that he is sending someone to pick me up. He also says he has talked to my local law enforcement and they will be over to pick me up at my workplace. He tried to scam $2100 out of me to get me off of charges he says that are being brought against me. I have called my local law enforcement and they are looking into the situation. If you get a call from this man, hang-up and do not hold a conversation with him. Call your local police and let them know!
