I just spoke to someone at the State Comptrollers office and they said the paperwork we filed are now public records and there isn't anything that can be done about who gets it the public record information. -- The best thing to do is block their number. There are several websites on how to block telephone numbers. Here is one of them
http://www.wikihow.com/Block-a-Phone-Number There are several more websites that can help you do this. I've already entered 4 numbers from receiving at least a dozen calls within 2 hours.

I just began receiving calls from this number and I have yet to open a bank account for my company so this place did not get my number from a bank . -- I only just registered my company with the State of TX, so it is at the state level where they are selling the number.

Receiving 3 to 4 robocalls per day since registering for Texas sales tax permit. Too bad the registration demands your phone; too bad Texas publishes this info.

This is now happening to me too. I applied for a tax license back in January. Today, I received 8 calls within two hours on my home phone and cell phone. Isn't there anyone out there who knows how we can stop this? Thanks.

electronic message left requested I call a local number 281-971-3503 Texas Business Division. I used reverse lookup and 800notes and found out this number was bogus

It is probably my computer calling yours routed through Arizona, or actually I got that one too, last night, could be from a computer in Cleveland is my best guess. If each computer is assinged a phone number from google specifically. Like, I can call out from my computer, does that mean I have a phone number assigned to my google account? I know you can get one, but you can call for free, I believe you have to pay to be able to except calls through to your computer, not sure.

This number keeps calling me as USA Taxpayer and offering a 1200.00 credit card swiping machine. Please tell me how to get this stopped. I get a call from them three to five times a day.

I also have received several calls from this number. It is a company selling credit card processing services. I have yet to actually speak to a person to get them to stop calling. I too have Chase Paymentech, but have discovered that it is not Chase selling the info.
I had to make an address change for my business with the state comptroller. Every time I make a change or update our status, I get these calls. When the state comptroller updates and existing or provides a new sales tax certificate, your business info (name, address, phone number) is placed on a new business list that is publicly available in downloadable .pdf format. Many businesses who make their money providing credit card terminal services, advertising and other business start up services regularly use these lists to contact new business owners and attempt to gain customers. It's a pain in the backside and I haven't found a way to keep us off the list.

I have received five calls this morning from (775) 200-0308 (831) 219-4756 and (281) 971-3503 (three calls on my home phone and two on my cell) both stating that they are Texas State Business Development Center and that they want to offer a free credit card machine value of $1,200 as part of the Texas business development and that they had mailed me information and that it was undeliverable (if they are using the Omaha, Tx address then it would have been delivered. These phone numbers are not part of the Texas Small Business Development Center.

this number along with others have been calling me all morning wanting to give me a free credit card machine or whatever since i recently filed for a Texas sales tax id. but seriously this is ridiculous for them to harass people like this calling non stop all from different numbers not all of which are even local. so far these are the numbers i have received some of which were not polite enough to even leave a message, which this number did not. I would much rather receive junk mail from them than receive these calls all day as far as i am concerned this is harassment our numbers should not be allowed to be given out for companies to call non stop like this.

I got phone calls from these numbers too all within the same day. I also think Chase sold my info to this company as I just registered for a credit card with them.
| Amber 2012-04-23 15:27:10 Unknown |
I, too, think Chase PaymentTech sold my information.... Needless to say that I am dropping them! They make enough money off of me without having to SELL my personal information!

I have received several calls from this number over the last couple weeks trying to sell me credit card processing services. It's getting really old.
I understand that I just filed for a resale license... but that doesn't chance the fact that they're using an autodialer and this is a CELL phone.

If you have recently set up a reseller account in your state, this is where they get their numbers. They will keep calling. Suggest you report them to your local State Attorneys General office.

called and left computer-generated voice message "Please call the Texas Business Development Center at 281-971-3503"
also received calls from these numbers all within a 45 minute span:
701 557-9341 (ring central says Bismarck, ND) (I picked up on this one, but no one was there, called it back but the number didn't seem to ring, google says credit card processor)
831-219-4756 (they called me twice didn't leave a message, ring central says Aptos, CA, google says credit card processor)
775-200-0308 (this number, credit card processor)
512-652-0606 (Elliot Management Group here in Austin, also a payment processor; I think I am going to visit these guys in person and show them the meaning of karma -- google says they are obvious scammers)
btw, these all seem to be selling credit card processing services; it seems that someone at Chase has sold my information from either my business checking account or Chase PaymentTech card processing services.

I received a phone call this morning. They left a message: Kate Hatfiled with Texas State Business Development. I won't be calling them back, thank you for your post.
| Sharon 2012-01-24 16:59:05 Unknown |
Second call 20 minutes later. Still no message left. From my Number Guru phone app, it says it is from Reno, Nevada. An internet search indicates they contact businesses to try to sell them software or equipment so the businesses can process credit cards.
