If you google the number you'll see it comes back to the American Sweepstakes and Promotion Co.  An elderly friend received a phone call from a guy named John (many here have mentioned the same name).  John told my friend he'd won close to half-a-million dollars.  But, and here's the kicker, my friend would have to wire $400 to Costa Rica.  My friend does not want to make a police report.  I wish he would.

When I called the number back a message answers saying the mailbox is full

Missed the call & I don't have CID.  *69'd it and got the #.  Called it back & was greeted with a RUDE message saying "I'm too F***ed up to answer the F***ing phone but leave a F***ing message after the F***ing beep and I'll return your F***ing call, you F***er."

My answering machine recorded some sort of hubaloo in the background but no message.  I am on the do not call list also.  This needs to be stopped!!

Got another call from this number today (9/12) at 8:37 pm.  One of many in the past month.  When I answered they hung up. I am also on the do not call list.  How can they get away with this?

My daughter has also been recieving these calls for about 2 weeks now.

I just got ANOTHER call from this number.  They call during the dinner hour and hang up.  Why can't this be stopped?

Recieved a call from this number at 8:30 pm, Thursday, 25 Sept 08. Said they were from the police protection division or something like that. I said Yeah right, and hung up, then searched that number on the net. Found this, left comment.

Have gotten 2 calls from 1-775-293-4515. They have hung up after my answering machine picks up the call. Mail box is full.

Received a call from this number at 9:05 pm today, 9/1/08.  I said hello and they hung up.  I called back and got the same message as above "this mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages".

They have called twice in the past few days. When I say "hello", they hang up and we are on the Do Not Call List.

the person calling said he was from the police protection committee and when I asked why in Ely he hung up.  I live in Henderson, Nv..

They have called my house 4 times....When I answer they hang up when I call back from my house it says I have reached a number that has been disconnected, then I call from my cell and it says the mailbox is full and is not accepting anymore messages.

I've received daily calls from this number.  They NEVER leave a message and the mailbox is ALWAYS full.

They called today and said their with the "Injured Police Officer's Fund".

From the KLAS-8 TV Website, "It turns out that neither the Police Protective Association nor the Injured Officer Protective Fund in the Las Vegas Valley solicits any type of donation or contribution over the phone". Don't give them any information!! It's a scam.

Scam,Spam,Sham.  Not from a Dr. Seuss book.  It never ends that some lowlifes will try to separate some fool from their money and this is no exception.   But we can all sleep better that we are protected from online poker and Cuban cigars.   Post this number EVERYWHERE and use it when you fill out other junk mail etc. forms and it will clog up their system eventually.

Received a call from 775-293-4515 and it only rang twice so my voicemail could not answer

Received a call from this number last night.  They said they were from the firefighters protective fund and were asking me to donate. I told them that my husband is a firefighter and not only have I never heard of this organization before- especially since they are calling from a NV # and we live in NV. I told them that I am on the DNC registry and they shouldn't be calling me. They quickly hung up.

I'm so sick of these phone scammers, especially when they claim to be on behalf of fire and police. I got this call last night asking for money for some firefighter fund I never heard of.

Received a call from this number tonight.  When I answered a man said he was calling on behalf of the Nevada Firefighters.  I told him the firefighters do not call and ask for donations, and he said "you'd be surprised".  I hung up.

I recieved a call from 775-293-4515 at 12:50 this afternoon 12/12/09.  I was on long distance when the call came in so I told family I would call back. I clicked over but no one answered. Tried calling the number back with and with out the area code. Call cannot be placed as dialed and with the area code number not in service at this time. Whomever has this number is back at it again so beware. I have seen extensive response in several websites about this number. Good luck everyone. Maybe if he starts calling attorney's homes or law enforcements homes something will become of it, but don't hold your breath.
