just called my cell but didnt answer

Received a call on my cell phone to verify info for a cash advance. They had my name, address and incorrect e-mail address. They stated this was an online submittal that they were following up on.

Pushed "0" and got "Jim" who said Mr. Ellis must have put another wrong number on his application. Jim said he would put me on the no call list. Right! Probably dumped a virus or trojan horse into my Blackberry!

They called to verify loan info. I havent applied for any loans in 10 years! They had my cell number and when I pressured them for who they were they got very brief said they would put me on their do not call list and hung up. I believe they are Phishing! Beware!

I received a cell phone call today like the one described by Dana.  I don't think I have applied for a lone since I purchased our home some 20+ years ago.  I hung up when they said to press 0 to clarify some details on my application.

Same as Amy and Dana above.  They called my wife's cell phone and asked for me.  I called the number back and they had enough of a system to look me up in their "records" from my wife's cell number.  I fished for as many details as I could -- all I could get out of him was the company name "Loan Verifification", they're (allegedly) in Las Vegas NV, they couldn't tell me which vendor I had "applied for a loan" from (but it was for a cash advance and I had applied online), and that the application was incomplete. The e-mail address I had supposedly put on this application was bogus, but it was my name (@secglobal.com), a domain that doesn't appear to be in use.

I told them this was clearly fraud, and he offered to "put me on the do-not-call list".  (Rather than, oh I don't know, connecting me to their fraud department.)

I just received a call like those above, where the caller hung up as soon as I answered.

I just received a call from this number. . ..said they have an application for a cash advance.  I called it back after receiving a voicemail message.  They want to deposit the money in my account within 24 hours.  That means I would have to give them my account number.  Well, I didn't come down with yesterday's rain!  I tried to pin them down and ask for a name of the person who applied for a cash advance. . couldn't tell me.  "Sorry for the inconvenience".  I said so this is a "scam" right?  Chuckle. . . "No maam".

this number kept calling me and I finally hit 9 to opt out of getting called and hope that works if I get called again I will post again.

Probable scam ("cash advance" supposedly ready for "me" to be deposited into "my account").  These guys are getting more and more brazen with each new phone call.

A payday loan company wanting my bank info to "deposit proceeds". Avoid.

Forgot to say the number is based in Reno and the guy said that the company was based in Las Vegas.

Received a call on my cell phone saying my mom applied for a payday loan. They had my address not my mom's.  They identified themselves as "Loan Verification" as their company name.  They said that they work with several companies to verify applicants information.  They wouldn't give the name of the company that supposedly received the application.

Answered the call...as soon as they said 'this is a message for...YOU' I was on to them.  Said my has been approved, I hung up promptly.

I'm also on the no call list but got one anyway from this number - annoying scam.

Just got the same call, "deposit for your account press zero, or press 9 to removed from this list". BS I'm sure. I too am on the no call list. This number needs reported to the no call list. No business name was revealed. Gave me number to call back 888-400-3471.

didn't answer just phone number came up this is my cell and if I don't see a # I know I just don't answer then look up the # on the computer, it does no good to be put on a DO NOT CALL LIST, as it does no good. one reason I got rid of home phone.

I thought I heard "press 9" to be removed from their list.  Hope it works.  I use a pre-paid plan and it costs me a lot of money to listen to these bogus messages.  I wish people would understand.  If I notice the same number more than once, I won't mess with it, but I don't remember seeing that one before.

Pretty much the same info and message as the other posts on here...I pressed the "9" to talk to the "loan specialist" for more info, but the call did not go through.  It sure sounds like the same sort of pitch that I get on the land line phone from "Credit Services"...also a bogus outfit..

Just got a message from this number--didn't answer the call since I didn't recognize the number.  The message was about putting money into a bank account within the next 48 hours--it was choppy so I didn't get the entire message.  A woman's voice came over the recording as well telling me to call 888-400-3471 for more info.  I am going to call my bank to verify my account it ok!  Weird, and beware!  No legitimate company or agency was identified in the call.

I got this same call too "confirming a deposit".. The voicemail cut off but I could tell that much. Lame.
