Phone rang, I answered and they immediately hung up.  Probably a scammer - tried to call back to see what was on the other line but I got a "this person is unavailable message" as if they were using Skype or some other internet phone service.

This is the same scam from 222-555-7777. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS STEAL.

They are criminals looking to gain access to your computer to steal your personal information and gain access to accounts.

FIRST OF ALL. Look at the caller ID folks. That is an obvious sign that it is a scam. 777? 100? NAME NOT FOUND? C'mon people. A heavy indian accent? Your computer isn't working? Really!

STOP FALLING FOR SCAMS. Telemarketing scams are the new email spam. NEVER EVER give out personal information over the phone. Be weary of every telemarketing call. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE, especially to callers who call you.

Report every call. warn others, ignore the call, never call back, be aware of the calling signs, they are all the same. Never give out personal information over the phone.

THEY ARE CRIMINALS. DOnt bother calling them back- number is fake- dont bother messing with them, you will recieve more calls, just ignore them, warn others, and report.

Google for more information. Please report to State Attorney General's Office and Do Not Call list.

There is no 777 area code. And the first three numbers are 100 ... That's a dead giveaway it's a scam!

Telemarketer
Wary -
This is a scam to gain control of your computer to search it for personal info.  The deal is the victim get a call from a 'computer security expert' (usually made from a call center in India) claiming the person's computer is in great danger, usually from a virus and the only way to save it is to follow the steps given over the phone.  The 'fixing steps' allow the scammer bypass any security on the machine and gain FULL access allowing the hard drive to be remotely searched for any personal info or to be used as a spambot.

Not only did I receive a call claiming a problem with my computer but after I said I was not interested he called back several times.  Anyone know what this is about? He gave the name Michael John and had a middle-eastern accent. He wanted me to access my computer to see what programs were not working.
