I have received calls from this number several times.  Always say they are getting feed back from my computer, that they are working with microsoft, and want access to my computer to fix problems.  I ask how they were getting anything on my computer?  That I want a direct number to microsoft, which of course, they don't have.  I tell them not to call me again, they called again on 5/02/12 at 2/19 pm. They never give a company name, just that they are from microsoft.

Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

This was in the news, its a scam to take over your computer. Microsoft says they do not call computer users for this or any type of problem.

i answered the call, there was a moment of silence, then a recorded "Goodbye" and hangup. Out of curiosity, i tried calling the number back. since it showed what I thought was a toll-free area code (wrong), I dialed 1 before the number, then received a phone company recording before I could finish dialing all digits "It is not necessary to dial a 1 or a 0 before this number"  I suspect it is a test call to see if it is calling a valid number. Since I answered the call it will show my number is valid and I am now expecting more spam calls. Or perhaps there are other purposes behind the call which I am not aware of.

This number left a 2 second message with loud background noise, no words.

total scam I would assume to get access into your computer....Hang Up    don't even talk to them...or better yet...don't answer

Received a call twice this week from a gentleman who was very persistent that my computer had some type of microsoft problem and he wanted me to log on to my computer; I refused and later I hung up on him........What the heck was that all about !!!

I got the call about two months ago. My computer vwas real slow and I had just installed "Speedingupmypc" (another joke) and I understood that the call was from them (terrible english) and that they needed to control my computer to fix the problem, which I did. After realizing that they were not from Speeding up, I demanded that they get out. I went to add/ remove software and thought I had removed them. They just called again today and my computer is locking up. I see the adobe figure in my task bar and can't seem to be able to delete it.

There has to a way to get rid of these idiots-- what's in it for them? Are they some kind of perverts?

OMG---I keep getting the same UNKNOWN number calling me for the last 3 days,I dont answer unknown or blocked calls.I looked up the area code and it says its INVALID.I tried calling from my computer because it shows a california number and it says number isnt answering who the heck is this ???????

Received a call from this number yesterday but didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. They called again today but the heavy accent was making it hard for me to understand him but he was saying the same thing about me having some Microsoft problem. I told them I was busy and couldn't talk. What is this?!?

Just received a call from this number.   Heavily accented voice identifiying himself as being with Microsoft. He told me that my computer had a problem and that I needed to fix it and he would help.

I do have a lot of microsoft errors on one computer but I cann't access it during the day. This is the second call from this number in 2 weeks

Was told that my computer had a security problem and that he would talk me through fixing the problem.  It had to do with something being blocked.  He told me to be connected to the internet and then he would tell me what to do.  I then became too busy and hung up.
