An obvious scam. They want you to get the money to them before the check clears, which it won't! You, and the company who's name is on the check are victims.

It is useless and morally wrong to attempt to cash a check you suspect as being fraudulent. First of all, it won't clear and your bank will charge you a fee for a returned check. If it somehow falls through the cracks and clears, it's still fraudulent. Your bank will have to return the money and will deduct it from your account.

The proper thing to do is provide copies of what you received to your local post office and your state's attorney general (address easily found on the internet). They will take it from there.

This is NOT evidence stolen identity, btw.

I also recieved a letter from GTB Financial Services with a check for $4,720 from Ann's Choice Inc.  The check was written on PNC Bank, 400 Clay Ave, PA.  Larry Smith was the claims agent and Molly (something) was the tax agent.  They tell you to deposit the check then send a moneygram for a lesser amount to the tax agent.  Then you will recieve your winnings.  Several people have deposited the checks but they never cleared the bank.  They called "Larry" and he told them that they had to immediately sent the moneygram to the tax agent anyway or else they wouldn't be able to collect there winnings.  THIS IS A SCAM!!!

It's a scam!!! If you deposit that check, you will be held liable for every cent of it, plus any overages it causes you. Take that letter and forward it to your Atty. General. IT'S A HUGE SCAM! DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!

Received a letter from GTB Financial Services with a check for $4,720.00 from Archon Vitamins Corporation to pay for non-resident government service tax: tax agent Melinda Gray.
Instructed to call this # for claims agent Larry Smith for advice on how to claim winnings of $450,000.00
