I was on a line already when I got a call from 778-807-9478. I went to pick up the other ringing line and it was something about I won a free cruise. I was getting similar calls in the past, so I hung up. Years ago I did call back, and got 'an agent' - the cruise didnt turn up to be free at all. I didnt waste my time calling that number I received yesterday (jan.20th,2014)..knew it was a nonsense call/spammer.  I just don't bother with numbers I do not know. I used to get spammers (criminals) calling me last year and I played their games. I matched their wits and (knock on wood) this year haven't received much. Except for the 'free cruise' call.   I hope it's not starting again.

Do not press 9; nor call back; nor speak to a 'real' person - these are scammers using fake/spoofed numbers, using a computer auto-dialer to call number after number.  If they think they have a 'real number' they store, share, sell/rent the lists and you get MORE calls.  Ideally, if I'm home I try to pickup and immediately hang-up, it confuses the equipment into thinking my line is no longer in service (greatly reduced the # of these calls, once I tried it).  If the line clicks on - just hang up.  Don't waste time being angry or harassing if you get a real person - they'll note the number and you'll get 'nuisance calls'.

My Rogers Home Phone system cut off most auto-dialers, but these crooks have inserted a code so it gets to my voicemail anyway.

This is another fake 30-second survey saying "Congratulations, you've won a free cruise to The Bahamas'.  It isn't real.  People who have participated in the past were told it was a timeshare tour; and one couple posted they are now in a lawsuit because the timeshare itself was a scam, a front for organized crime and so did a lawyer.  What these fake survey/won a prize/cruise/(fake free Disney trip) people REALLY want is anything they can use to make a Fake ID - your name, address, phone, income levels, credit card; anything they can use to make a fake ID that they use to commit more fraud.

I googled 778-807-9478 while they were ringing - not like I'd pick up anyway, idiots.

Your tax dollars at work blocking these scammers. What's that?  Oh it didn't.....we'll fix that before the next election.

Tip for others: If you call the number back and press 9 to remove yourself off list it just keeps record that your human VS bot.

It called me today, January 17, 2014 at 10:53 Atlantic Standard Time.  I was outside the house.  I wouldn't have answered anyway.

Encore la même gang qui appelle. Encore 3 fois en une seule journée et ils appellent sur une ligne réservée aux urgences en plus !  Aucune conscience. Ce sont des tas de m***e, des moins que rien qui n´ont même pas le courage de s´identifier sur un afficheur et en plus il changent constamment de numéro pour emmerder les gens. Tabarnak les compagnies de téléphone nous disent qu´ils sont incapables de les retracer ou faire quoi que ce soit, bin si la SQ, la GRC le FBI ou la CIA sont capables de retracer une personne ça devait être possible aussi avec eux autes non ? Les compagies de téléphone sont complices et je dirais même criminelles ! Ça mérite des actions ! Les compagnies de téléphones veulent uniquement le cash et se câlisssent des clients, voilà pourquoi ils se disent incacaples de faire quelque chose. Puis si ils me sortent que je devrai payer plus cher pour qu´ils puisssent faire quelque chose, comme 20 $ de plus par mois bien j´en mets 50 $ et je ne lésine pas. Assez c' est assez ! .. mais je doute que  ça puisse changer car ils vont voler mon 50 $ pis se foutre de moi. Curieux tout d emême si c´était UN seul appel du genre ou menace sur un numéro des gouvernements. la planète entière serait informée qu´on a retracé l´auteur des appels.
