just got a call from them...its not legal for a public dept to call to try and get donations. ask them how much they are trying to raise for the dept and then ask them at what amount does the collection/telemarketing company stop calling for donations.

This number has called NUMEROUS times and they never answer.  I dialed *69 and it said "mailbox full."  There has to be a way to get rid of these irritating telemarketers.  I add my number to the "do not call" list - many times!  Does that work???

Receive 1-3 calls per day for the past week from 781-817-6743, when I answer, I get a click and then static. When I call back this number, I get a recording that says the mailbox is full.  What does it take to stop these constant and annoying calls from various companies, fundraisers and charities.

It's important to note that these police "fundraisers" keep 90+% of the donation for themselves, with 10 % or less going to the firefighters or police.  If your police dept has a children's charity, they will accept money directly to that charity without the need for a "third party collection agency".  I have taken issue about this fact with the people calling who can become extremely rude.  This is a predatory practice and as others have stated.  We all know easily duped/elderly people  who don't realize this is a for-profit "charity" that does very little for those they are claiming to help.

Received a call today, collecting donations for Braintree Police department.

Keeps calling, no message left.  When I called back to tell them to stop calling I get a "message box full" answer.

781-817-6743 called today collecting for the Wilmington Police Patrolmen. After these postings, I would only give directly to the Wilmington Police Dept itself.

I to have gotten calls from these numbers and I am on the do not call list. The dnc list does work it is just that some companies are exempt from the list. If you notice the only call you will get if they are playing by the rules is calls from non profits like Special Olympics, police and Firefighters assoc. Political party's and company's that you do business with such as credit card co. insurance co. cable co. etc.etc. any one else is braking the law.

I have receiced many calls lately from 781-817-6751 and 781-817-6767 and 781-817-6743 etc.  I get only 12 calls to block at a time with Comcast.  I recently called to see if I could get that number increased and the answer was no.  I would like to be able to block every annoying call not just 12 at a time.

I have received 9 calls from these people in the last week and a half. The caller ID says "local." I answered the first call and the man on the line claimed to be representing the Rockland, Mass Police Dept. looking for donations. I told him I wasn't interested and hung up. A few days later they called again. I told them they had already called me and I was all set. Since then, 7 more calls, none of which I have answered. As you can see from the list below, the last four numbers are always different, and they frequently call more than once a day. Sometimes the calls will be only moments apart.

I feel these are intimidation tactics. People will be afraid to say "no" because it is the police. I have fallen for this in the past, as I'm sure have many others. I am on the do not call list also. Obviously it doesn't work.

This 781-817 with different ending numbers each time has called me too many times in the last 5 days.
Blocking doesn't work only on a 6 digit number 781-817 unfortunately. These are the ending numbers I got,
6743, 6751, 6670, 6158, 6763. I just placed my number again on the DNC and these numbers have been calling me since. I think they hack into that list and call the numbers on it. I guess using DNC list is a waste of time. I won't answer those numbers anyway.

I receive numerous calls A DAY from this number and 781-817-6762,and 781-817-6652... all three come up as "LOCAL" on caller ID. Most of the time, I just let it ring.   I did answer recently, only to be immediately disconnected.  I called THEM back, and got a recording "not available".  I work at night so I'm sleeping most of the time when they call.... needless to say this is quite aggravating.  There HAS to be some way to stop these calls, short of getting an unlisted number!

Got a call today saying they were the woburn police superiors looking for donations

claimed to be collecting money for Chelmsford fire dept.

i immediately ( within 5 seconds)  and a message saying the number wasnt available right now
