I just now posted my motorcycle for sale on Craigslist and literally within seconds received multiple text messages from someone saying they are Shari and inquiring if the bike is still available and asking the condition....which is clearly stated in the Craigslist ad. The next message string said "I will be happy to buy it but I will not be able to come and view it because I'm not in town. Note that you will not be responsible for shipping and handling and the payment will be made through PayPal. My shipping company will come to your location for the pickup. Kindly provide me with the address where it will be picked up so that I canforward it to the shipping company to calculate the pick up cost for me. I have to pay you via paypal"

I received a text from Shari interested in Harley Davidson. She asked the condition. She stated she was out of town and would pay through pay pal and she would be responsible for shipping and handling. Thank you all for posting this scam! You were a big help!

Got a text regarding a car I had advertised on Craisglist .  Hi this is Shari, (same as above) wanted to pay with pay pal and have me ship the car.  I texted back I only would deal locally.  Thanks anyway.  SCAM!

Obvious scam in my opinion but looked up the number to see if there was any threads such as this. Go figure I was right.

However I am playing along with it to see how this pans out. My bike is garaged so im not worried about them jacking it. However if they do I wouldn't mind the insurance payout of it being stolen. =)

Yep, same story, on a tractor I posted on Craigslist. The sad thing is, they will probably scam some trusting person on this deal. NOT ME.

this number is calling me about a craiglist posting, wants to use paypal, obvious scam. person identified themselves as charles Jordan.

Yep, hit me up also via text, said he was disabled due to being deaf and we couldn't talk on the phone. Wanted to but my Jaguar listed on Craigslist sight unseen for full asking price. But insisted on using PayPal, Just needed my address so he could arrange shipping. Told him I would only accept a cashiers check and we would have to wait for it to clear my bank. This guy was quick to respond til that, not answered one text since. Searched his number and found this site, thank goodness. BEWARE of this classic Craigslist scammer !

Same story as above, I listed my car for sale on Craigslist and he wanted to buy it and use paypal....definitely NOT!

sent me a text trying to buy my car with paypal and have a non existent expert logistics transport. went by charles jordan.

Scammer using craigslist, trying to steal from me.   I posted a car for sale, they want to use PayPal to send me money and have a 3rd party pick up the car.  Classic scam and you are warned about it when you post big ticket items to craigslist.
