Hey guys...these people are still at it...now they are getting your email... and sending this stuff to your email... so instead of emailing this jerk back I contacted the court system where I reside and there is absolutely no warrant for my arrest, etc. No court case not a darn thing...I had an old old old payday loan that I paid off a very long time ago... it is scary how much information these jerks can get on you...I think I am going to change my email address now...good grief. Also reported it to the fbi and ftc...good grief...oh and btw do NOT open up the email on your computer...it contains malware and spyware and a virus to boot...*smdh*

Jen,

***Don't fall for this.  This is a scam and they most likely have all of your information because you have applied either recently or in the past for a loan or a payday loan.  They use internet phishing sites that appear to be legitimate but they are not.  ***

Please remember, most states require that if you owe a debt, if you request verification from a debt collector that it has to be provided.  They also can not threaten to have you arrested; they can sue you, but the requires papers being served and you have the opportunity to answer the charges and provide your proof.  People like Margaret and pino11 that say they are real, they have been to their offices probably are liars trying to post and make people believe their lies.  Contact your Attorney General and get your states legal debt collection practices; arm yourself with knowledge before dealing with trash like this.  If it involves an internet application, please go to www.ic3.gov an place a complaint with the Federal Government Internet Crimes Complaint Center.  You can also report this to your local law officials, the FBI and let your friends know that this is a scam.  I have seen so many people get scammed by being accused of defrauding when they are the ones being defrauded.  These trashy scammers prey on fear and scaring other people which is why they threaten jail time.  IT IS A SCAM...DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!  Tell them to kiss your A$$!!!!

Also, please be leery of placing your personal identifying information on the internet without knowing the company is reputable.  Check with your Secretary of States office, the Better Business Bureau and you can also do searches on the internet.  Good luck to you.

They are not real and if you paid them you are crazy.  This is a scammer with a middle eastern accent that tricks you into providing your social security number.  My bet would be if you think they are real and you are posting in their favor, then your post is a set up and you are actually one of the trashy scammers that call and prey on innocent people threatening to put them in jail.  If you are not part of them, you need to contact your Attorney General because you were scammed.  THIS IS A CELL PHONE PEOPLE!!!!  BY LAW, they have to erify this debt if you request it.  These people are callig trying to collect for payday loans; only problem is, the state I am in, it is illegal to give payday loans therefore any company that agrees to provide a payday loan in a state that bans their services is an internet phishing site and are criminals trying to get your information.

This is such a scam...I am getting calls for the 786 and 321 area code from the same voice claiming the same accusations of fraud and paycheck loans.  First off people, most debt collectors do not want you to know the nature of their call...because most people will not call back or answer.  They will generally say its an important business matter....there may be a legal reason they say that as well...not sure...but never will a legit debt collector give such granular detail...so like I said...it is such a SCAM...and as for the JACK D character...got to be linked to it...or a fool....sorry just being real.  My advice ignore it...unless they are harassing you at work...or simply change your number....I am seriously thinking about doing that...these are annoying as hell. Oh my guy claims his name is Jeff Martin...but definitely sounds Middle Eastern.

I received a message from this fool yesterday morning claiming he was Eric Parker, a lawyer/attorney general who was calling on behalf cash advance loans. Stated I had three frauds against my ss # (which I don't). Claimed I owed the company $691.26 cents (oddly I've never heard of them) and if I didn't pay it I would be sued and there would be a warrant for my arrest. He said I had a couple different options, 1) I could pay it off ( the full amount and would be droped of all charges or I could pay 50% of what I owed which he said would be $340 and he would do payments with me and put my case on hold till I paid it off ). In the mean while all this is happening I kept getting  disconnected from him so I called back and he was being a jerk saying I hung up on him even know he was the one who did it to me! This disconnected crap kept happening for the next few minutes but I kept calling back trying to get to the bottom of it. Here Is were I knew it was a scam, he said (eric parker) that to pay I would have to go to western union or my nearest Wal-Mart and get a money pack but, and I quote "a money pack that doesn't have visa/mastercard and no expiration date and then call back and give him the code and fax him the receipt" . A complete dumbass about everything and very rude! Once he finally realized I wasn't going to fall for his very Illegal scam he started calling me from several different #s and saying he was trying to help me resolve this case and I was wasting his time. What nerve this prick had and the things he said! He some how has all my numbers plus called my girlfriends phone and my dads house  where he and my dad got in a screaming match. The last call he placed was to my dad and he had used our local Police station number where he said he was and that I was getting served and arrested so my father and I immediately drove to the police station and the knot head (eric parker) was know where to be found.They use magic phones and are constantly using different names and numbers. I am not satisfied with this situation, I went to the lawyer and the police and filed complaints and the police tried to trace the # It came from Miami but the other #s were untraceable. There is really nothing that they can do but I know these pricks will be caught sooner or later. Scamming several people a day with false identity, my advice would be to just not give them the time a day but If they keep calling and bothering just throw it right back in there face, If nothing else it's cheap entertainment. Justice will be served one day.

There is absolutely no such thing as debtor's prison in the US.  I don't care if you Cash Advance America $50m, they can't do anything about it other than report it to the credit bureaus.  Depending on what state you live in, there's a large chance that they couldn't even garnish your wages.  They could take you to civil court, however, even if they won and a judge told you that you must pay...that's where it stops.  Until you sold a home or other property that is taxed.  At which time they would retrieve their money.  All of you who paid are either with them and lying, or stupid.  Do your homework.  These people should be shut down and imprisoned, but it's sad that people actually believe that they could go to jail for owing someone money.  Not here anyway....

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Received calls from Eric Parker connected to US Legal Services stating that I owe payday loan to Cash Advance of America and they have a claim against my SS# and I can settle out of court.  He keeps calling threatening me.  Shouldn't I get some form of written notification from these idiots before doing anything?  Anyone out there been in this place, please advise.

They have called me for over a year now.  They'll quit for a while and then start back.  I do not even call them back.  They're so stupid.  I wouldn't pay something over the phone to those losers.  It's sad we let them people into Miami anyway.  That's all that lives there.  They can't even speak English hardly.  And they come into America and scam us to make money.  I wished the FBI would stop their crap.  But they change their numbers.  They've called me from different numbers too.  If you pay this, you are dumb.  You don't have to pay anything unless they can prove you owe it.  Go ahead and let them sue you.  It won't happen.  They just try to threaten dumb people and make money.  Apparently it works by the sounds of some responses on here.  So whoever gives them money is keeping their butt in business!  They say 24 hours or 2 working days they're going to serve me with a subpoena against my SS#.  They leave that message every time they call.  That's so dumb.  They don't even know the law.

I received 8 phone calls from this number today, one right after the other.   I was out, and my husband told the caller, who did not give his name, to google the number and see what it says.  He stated he was an attorney and calling regarding a legal matter.  He didn't even seem sure what "google" was.  I did call the number back.  It did not answer with the name of the "firm" or business, just said the person at ext 2444 was not available and to leave a message, so I left one.  I gave them my name and even spelled it, just so they would understand me(as I don't believe they are even from this country).  I told them that I did not appreciate them calling eight times, they better not call back, that I knew they were trying to scam me, and that the number had been reported to the FBI ( and even told them what FBI stands for ) and that I would pass their information along to my attorney and that I would be contacting a criminal attorney to file charges for harrassment.
Not sure what else to do.  Please don't get caught up in these, if you know you don't owe it to them.  Paying them so they stop is just enabling them to continue, and if they know you paid once, they will contact you again.  This must stop.....sometimes bad things do happen to good people and when you try to get things straightened out, idiots like this make your life miserable.
