This number called me about two days ago. I was and still am in a bad financial situation so iw as excited and gave them my information right away without thinking. After i got off the phone, i was a little weary so i called the bank and they told me just watch my account if anything happens file a claim and open a new account. My account is allready 400 overdrawn so if they are trying to get money they won't get any. No one has put on here that anything has actually happened as in they took money so i'm wondering if it is a scam or not. So what do i do now?

I received a call today from a guy stating his name "David Johnson" from a Government Grant agency.  He knew my full name, date of birth, and my correct address.  He stated that I was chosen because I had never filed bankruptcy and had good credit. I was to receive $5000 American moneys. I questioned this immediately as he had a very thick accent, I could barely understand him, and he claimed to have a very American name.  He gave me an employee ID of 39003. He then stated that he needed the last 4 digits of my social to prove that I am an American citizen.  I asked where the funds came from and he stated from "the Federal Government and they will be transferred to my account." I then told him he was crazy! He started shouting "Oh my God, Oh my God you don't believe?" I hung up.

Same thing as sstated before, asking for all my information and they wanted me numbers to account, ss #, and DOB.  I said well then send a check because i dont give out information over the phone.  He said ok, pay the deposit and you will get the check, whats your routing number and account number?  I said the reason i didnt want the money over the phone was because of the security pg my account... so no... still asked again for the information, so i put him on playback and sent it to the police dept and the local FBI agency.

I also received a phone call from a woman by the name of Michelle Wilson who was trying to convince me to give her the same information mentioned above in all the other posted comments before mine. I almost fell victim to this scam because at the time I was in need of money and it seemed like a blessing that God was sending to me right on time. Fortunately I begin to question the mysteries of this call and I looked farther into the situation and ran across this page. If I had not ran across this page I probably wouldn't have figured out that this whole thing was nothing more than a scam this whole time. I am very concerned about the damamge that these people have the power to do to innocent people's lives. I hope that you don't fall victim to such a shameful crime as I almost did. Be careful and be safe and don't give out any personal information.

I received a call on my cell phone after filling out basic information online about Gov't. Grants. The call back # 091-06 was all that appeared and this went on for about a day and a half. I finally was able to answer my phone and receive a response from the caller and was informed that I was awarded a $5,000 grant from the federal gov't. to be used as I wished. His name was "Rex" and I was told I needed to furnish my bank account information in order for the transfer to take place. I questioned this scheme as to the fact I had received NO form of verification and I was told it would come with the transfer. I again questioned the validity of his call and he then told me I could verify his company by calling the telephone number he had given me to gather information. He insisted that by gettting my account number and routing number his company could ONLY make a money transfer. That is untrue of course! It is unfortunate that these scam artists hack into Gov't websites and prey on innocent people!! What is even worse is that most people, if in a dire situation, will do what is asked to receive what they believe is legitimate funding. I have already fallen prey to a scam artist in the past and it was not only costly but humiliating. HOW can these people be reported and caught before they end their collection of innocent people's information and money??? They claim to be representing a U.S. Gov't agency so there has to be SOME law they are breaking!!!!

I also received a call from a pushy man that sounded Indian and wanted my bank number and routing number.  He also said he was with the federal grant whatever and gave me his name (Sam Rose), this phone number as verification and his employee ID number.  I kept saying he could send me an email with more information, but I wasn't going to give him my banking information over the phone.  He kept trying to push me into it, but I didn't do it and he said that he'd send me the email.  He also said he'd call me back in about an hour.  The award was $3000 for paying my taxes and not declaring bankruptcy.

I received an aggressive phone call from "Rex" who had a very heavy Asian accent telling me my govenment had chosen me to recieve $5,000 for never filing bankruptcy.  He just needed my routing and bank account numbers. I said I wasn't giving it over the phone and he proceeded to chastise me for thinking anyone could get money with just my routing and account number they would also need my social security number.  I asked for his number and he gave it.  Ten minutes later her called back and said "Well, are you ready to give me the numbers now?"

I just received that call a few minutes ago.  I'm sure he is a scam artist.  He was foreign and I had trouble understanding him.  The one who called me was named "Stephen Foster". Yeah right!  He said he was in Florida but the other number he gave for me to verify him with was a california number who had a lady that was next to impossible to understand.  I gave up trying to figure out what she was saying.  i called my bank and the local police dept.-  both of which said that they had never heard of such a thing and don't give out any info.  _--if it was real, I just lost 5K.  Sheila
