My teenager is getting constant phone calls from either 786-871-0147 or 786-871-0145 trying to solicit money for a family member involved in an accident in Spain. Calls come in at all times of day. Going to report these calls to the FCC.

"I am your oldest granddaughter. My voice may sound funny because I was in automobile accident last night and broke my nose." When asked for the name of my oldest granddaughter the caller replied, "You know my name grandma." At this point I hung up.

March 23, 11:15am, Maryland -
My parents received a phone call from a female identifying herself as their oldest granddaughter. She proceeded to say she was in Spain, had a car accident, broke her nose and needed help. My parents proceeded to question her about the incidents and after many questions, the caller hung up. The caller was attempting to secure money for the "accident", but fortunately my parents did not fall into the scam. I will report the incident to the FTC tomorrow and encourage anyone else falling victim to such calls to make a report.

Got the same call. My grandson is in Afghanistan and coming home the end of the month. Got the call today and a young man said he was my grandson and had gotten in an accident with the rental car and need money to get it repaired. Said his nose was broken but the car that hit them sped away from the accident. Needed $3000.00 dollars to repair car befor he could leave Spain. His is a HOAX. I was really upset because I thought it was real but knew that it seemed strange since I had talked with my grandson yesterday.
The caller wanted to make sure that I didn't call any of his family to let them know because they would worry.

I got the same call, I called the Federal Trade Commission 1-877-382-4357 and reported it, if they see a pattern developing they might investigage, it's worth trying. Our local police in Ca really aren't able to anything about it.

I got the same call, I am in CA and called the police, but they can't do anything. I called the Fed Trade Commission 1/877-382-4357, call and report it and they might investigate it as a 'pattern".
