He claims he has a house for rent that seems too good to be true for Orange County - you express your interest in renting - he claims he will be out of the states for a while then requests you sending him the application form, $1500 deposit in return he sends the keys. I have attached parts of the email I recieved from "Ernest Wellington" i.e. urbanprince241@yahoo.com

"Thanks for the response.I actually will be away for a while.so we dont have to wait till i get back.Below i have attached the application form which you have to fill and returned to me.

I can have the keys mailed upon receiving the deposit payment which is $1500 that includes all utilities."

I have posted this because I do not want any innocent house seekers to be scammed by this FRAUD!!!!

I have seen the property he has posted and spoke to the tenants, when I asked them if the house was for rent, they had no idea what I was talking about!

He is nothing more than a SCAM ARTIST FROM AFRICA! There's a bunch of them on Craigslist so be careful.

This guy is a jerk and we need to ban together to put him in jail! I looked at a house in San Jose that he said was for rent by him. My husband and I went to the house, loved it and asked why there was a for sale sign on the property and he told us he purchased it on a short sale, but would rent it because of the market there were no buyers. I told me that I needed to see the interior and he informed me that if he got the realtor involved it would cost him $500 to rent the place. He then told me that he would have a key made that afternoon and when I called Michael Perrone in Puerto Rico (he had to have ID to pick up the Money Gram), he informed he that I had to pay the rest of the deposit to get a key. I told him that I wanted a key first and proof that he owned the property and he said, "it does not work that way" and hung up on me. What an a** and I will report him to San Jose Police Internet Fraud unit.

The guy is a total fraudster and has been reported. He stole $500 from me! The guy is good at fraud and fraudulently induced both my husband and I. Karma will come back to him!

There is a SCAM going.
They stole the pictures and uses the address of the most exclusive buildings ( Wilson Ave. or the one on Del Mar in Pasadena)
They ask for ridiculously low rent. Because they only listed their e-mail. When we reply, they claim that they are out of the country and want to sublet their condo/apartment. They ask us to send them money via TNT and they will send us the key without seeing the apartment.
We drove 50 miles to find out that it is a SCAM from the leasing office.
DON'T BE FOOLED!
If you unfortunately send them the money, the Pasadena police wants to talk to you. They have history of all their previous postings.

This is a scam. I got an email back that asked for $3000 up front from Senator Susan Collins - all misspelled and with poor grammar.

There is a couple in South Houston near beltway 8 and 288 that advertise a place for rent which is a room in a house. They tell you that you will only be living with one or the other (wife or husband and the other will not be present)and that they are split up. Once you sign the lease and move in then the other spouse that supposedly was not living there comes back and all of a sudden lives there. When you tell them you are not comfortable living with a married couple they take your deposit and tell you to move out that same day. If you have to leave some of your belongings becasue you can't get it all in one trip then you get messages stating that you can't get your stuff and they are getting rid of it.

This post is a scam. Below is the reply you will get: (I got this ve)y same reply from another ad I answered, from a different person/email address. No instructions as to how this will work, no phone number, nothing. Again, this is a scam.

Dont Rent this Condo these people are scam artist, I rented this 3 bedroom and was told By the Condo Board that the owner Could not rent this condo with out approval from the Board and according to the Condo Rules and Guidelines this people are never allowed to rent out this condo located at 4614 S Calumet, They Defrauded Section 8 and Me. so if you move in you will be meet by the Condo board advising you to move back out, I have proof and The Condo Board Contact Info I have the condo board contact number and section 8 can confirm these people defraud them and me as well.

Wow! He sure has been busy in Orlando. Most of the Craigslist ads have already been flagged but you can see them if you google 206 600 6800.

That is the same thing he told me when I questioned him about the realtor and he said they wanted to charge him a fee if they rented it and that as soon as I gave him the deposit he would take down the for sale sign!!  The next day the agent calls me back and says that it is a bank owned property and was recently placed on the market!!!  But by then it was too late!!

I was hired by the guy "Max" who owns the phone number that I found on Craigs list.  He wanted to pay me 1,000 week plus $500 per abanded home that I found.  I've been trying to call him to speak to him but his phone number is not working right now.  Thank god I was just getting ready to start.  His email is the.richguy@yahoo.com.  
I contacted him yesterday about a job and he hired me.  His company name was Global Resource Solutions.
Now that I handed him 11 addresses of homes that were vacant in the pine hills area of Orlando Florida I find this out.

I'm sorry you got taken by this guy. Like I said before the same thing happened to me. APD did less than nothing but I am greatfull that I found this site. I Google his number at least once a week to try to get more info. I hope this can help people with at least this scam. I wish you the best.
Just a word of advice to anyone else:
Never wire money for a purchase on Craigslist! (It is even posted on the site)

ive just come across this guy today 5/15, and it is definitely a scam.  he's out there and using 2 different numbers.  he has a current listing on the san diego craigslist for a home in a great, safe area that my husband took a look at. the 206-600-1800 number went directly to a voice mail saying that if we were interested in any of his listings to call the 787-235-1300 number.  what do you know... the home turns out to be a home that is bank owned and up for sale.  i call him back @ the 787 number and tells me not to call the realtor who is selling the home and tell them that he's trying to rent it out because she will charge him a fee. ??? weird!  he says he works with the bank and leases these homes for however long you want to, no minimum lease and that the sale process will be put on hold until we decided to move out. (is this for real?!) he said the home was available to look at just by going there, no tour with anyone.  i asked about the lockbox and he said the door would just open.  in my email i asked to meet with him to drop off the application but his reply was "if the home is still available wednesday, it's all yours."  so anyhow, he's using another number on his craigslist ads.  he said his name is max and is email address he used to send me a fake lease agreement is the.richguy@yahoo.com.  BEWARE of this guy.  im glad i did my research before any money was given up.

I am not looking for a free handout just what is rightfully mine there is a big difference and I don't intend to get over it!!  I intend to help other people from being his victims.  If I can help one person from being another victim of his then I have succeded.  As for two sides to every story you are truly right but if he was so inocent don't you think he would have returned my deposit or responded to my comments or better yet go the Police Department and clear up this whole situation.  That would be the right thing to do!!!  But as you can see that hasn't happened!!!  So believe it or not I have everything to back up my claim, does he?? and where is he as to his response??

You know I went back to the website and you are right the website exists but the content that was there last night has now been removed.  The funny thing is the guy listed on their last night I sent an email to indicating that I would give his info to the APD, the website was taken down and three of you responded.  Like I said all I want is my money back.  I have all the proof you need to back up my claim!! Can YOU??  Also, after I called the number that same person called back and when they heard it was a law office they hung up?? How convenient??

I am a mother of three, I work for an attorney and I have decent credit!! I am not looking to make problems for anyone I have the money gram transfer paper work showing that I transferred money to Michael Perrone in Manati, Puerto Rico.  I can show you my phone bill indicating that I made and received calls from Mr. Perrone.  I can show you the police report that I filed with the APD.  I can also show you the listing that he was renting and am in the process of getting an affidavit from the selling agent to show that this is a foreclosed bank owned property and that no one was renting it.  I am not looking to make problems for anyone I just don't want anyone else scammed from this jerk!! Although I am not done pursuing this claim all I ever wanted was my money returned.  And as for the number I did a search on it and it was an unlisted cell phone but I am not done yet because I will be issuing a subpoena to retrieve phone records for this number to find out who it is really listed to.  Anyone that wants to confirm all my info can email me and I will be happy to share it with you.  And if you are so intrigued with my living situation I found a place to rent!! As for the website and the number I called and the website does exist and I called the number again and a man answered not a counseling number....The next time you choose to critique someone else at least get your story straight.  As for my name he has (along with my money) so he knows who I am!!!!

I looked up Michael Perrone, He is a real estate agent in NYC. Why are these people trying to defame him? It's probably some kind of prank. Anyone can make up stories online, make a website, or put someone's number in the classifieds. Some people are unstable.

I went to the site you spoke of and it doesn't exist. I called the number you listed 787-235-1300 and it is a Free At Risk Teen Counseling Line. What are you trying to do to these people? What kind of liar are you anyway? I am sure there is some reason why you can't find something better to do.
