We received a similar call but from a different number stating the same. They said that my dad called the police and because of that call, some people got arrested and that he needed to pay so the bad guys could get out of jail or they will going to kill him. My poor dad paid the money. :-(

OMG!!! My mom just called me from P.R and she said someone had called her saying that my brother that lives in NY was in a accident and that he was in jail and needed a bound for the amount of $800. My mom being pretty old and naive didn't ask this A Hole for more info so she transferred the money into the account then to find out that my brother was doing well and that he has not been in trouble or in any kind of accident. What's so sad about this is that my mom lives only by her SS check she took a loan in the bank just to send the money and now she has to pay this money back. It breaks my heart that people take advantage and scare the heck out of other people just to keep control. They have called back again demanding more money and threatening to kill my brother luckily my aunt was home and shut the F off them and told them that she already knows about the scam and it's being reported. Now just hoping for the best hopefully they get caught.

this just happened to me they called from an unavailble number and said that someone was in an accident and they had my son hostage with a gun on his face then the story changed and said that my son owed him money for drugs they would not let me off of phone nor put my son on the phone I had my ex husand do a threeway done by that person my x transferred 1300 into a western union account never heard from my son after.  But we sent police to his house but it was late already and we wired the money My son could not believe what happened nothing was wrong with him.  I don 't know how they found my cell number? We went to police NYC and they said if nobody was hurt that was it they couldnt do anything.  I feel violated I am still trying to comprehend what just happened we did go back to westernunion and they already picked up the money.  They gave my x an 800 to call because they do photo copy ID it was transferred to Puerto Rico. So what really happens they get away with it.  I know that my son is ok and I am happy that it was only a scam but its happening to a LOT of us.  This world is crazy we live in.  (this saga went on for 4 hours they didnt want you to hang up.  I really thought they were going to kill my son.

Well they just called me but the number was from Florida. I see Puerto Rico is not the only one. They said that my uncle was involved in a car accident and that he got all tough and they beat him up and he have my number saying that I would pay them some money. I thought it was fishy since I'm still in high school and why would my uncle rely on me instead of someone else. So I told them to kill him and hanged up. I called my uncle and he was sleeping in his house.

These a***oles called my mom and grandparents today. They did not give any money but are now scared to death. This time the guy's name was Michael Rivera alias Melo Bemba. They called from 787-421-4985. It's a cell from from guaynabo. This j***off had the same story about being the boss of the neighborhood gang. Do not give any money to them!

Today I received a similar call from 787-421-4985 & 787-981-7654. The person(s) on the other side stated that they were drug dealers who control the area where my mother lives. They also stated that my mother had called the police on them and as a result a 400mm gun was taken away from them. They demanded that I go to the nearest Westen Union and wire the money within 30-minutes otherwise they would kill my mother. They ordered me not to call the police or contact anyone or my mother would pay the price. They stayed on the phone line until I got to a Westen Union and wired them $500. The name of the person who received the money in Vega Baja, P.R. goes by the name : Jose C. Collazo Carrion and is about 23-years old. His profile can be found Facebook, and Myspace. PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THESE LOWLIFES!! TODAY I FELL FOR THEIR SCAM, TOMORROW IT MAY BE YOU.....Should this happen to you, call your nearest Police ,and make a complaint..Together we can help fine theses b*****ds!!!!!!!

My Father got a call from this number and the story was the same as the rest are telling. Except that they described me very well, they said i was tan (on the first try) and that i was the oldest. Thats when my dad got scarred, they also talked and screamed about my boyfriend, which i have. So of course like any father he was terrified. They didn't let my dad hang up the phone and made him do a lot of stuff. Thankfully, before sending any money, my dad rushed to the police and they picked me up from school. Later the policed explain that the calls were fake and they came from PUERTO RICAN INMATES and that have some type of phone trackers.
Never Answer Any Numbers You Dont Know! Alway let them leave a voicemail.

I also got a call from 787-980-9587, similar story...These people are sick. Don't give them any information. Just hang up and call your family members direct to make sure they are ok.

Just got the exact same call about the motorcycle hit and run story.  this is the number they used. 787-980-9587

My 17 year old daughter got a call from this number saying her brother gave him her number to call because he was involved in a car accident with his brother and they also had a big fight.  He also said that his brother smashed my son;s head with a gun and he was losing a lot of blood.  He wanted $2,000 in order to get my son back if not they were going to kill him.  He spoke in Spanish to my husband.  My son does not drive and he would have given my cell number not my daughter's.  Caller also paid close attention to background noise, since my son was not at home, my daughter told me to call his cell phone, they heard that and then said I heard his cell phone ringing if we didn't hand up they were going to kill him.  My husband kept asking to speak to my son but they kept saying if you ask one more time they were going to kill him.
They insisted that we go straight to the bank and send the money.  We drove straight to the house were my son was, thankfully he was safe and sound with his friend and wonderful family.
On the way they attempted to contact us twice, we did not answer the phone, they then text and cussed us.
Four officers responded to the call when we got the my son's friend's house and calm our fears regarding this scam. PLEASE BE CAREFUL, THEY ARE ALSO ATTEMPTING TO GET INFORMATION FROM YOU.  DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY NAMES, NUMBERS OR PERS INFORMATION

Today got a similar message from PR, The call was about a drug dealer complaining because my dad had called the police on two of his dealers and it cost him 175K to get them out of jail. He threatened to kill my dad, when I told him that would be in his conscience forever, he never got to the part of money issues, he just hung up on me...(I guess he just got pissed off) Police stated that this is an ongoing scam. Just ignore them.

I received a call from this number asking me money to save some one from my family who was involved in a car accident , they were hispanic latino accent from Dominicana , but the number is an Area code from Puerto Rico .

In Puerto Rico, my wife received two calls, one telling i was hostage and being beaten badly, the second, to hand them money. She got scared and calls me, they don't call any more. Of course it was a fake to get money for nothing.

I got the same call and threat ! Who the he'll are these guys and why are they doing this this it's  not cool at all ! These guys need to get caught it's a shame they get off this cruel joke ! this needs to be told family & friends if any one ever gets a number from a 787 don't answer ! They first say " you speak Spanish " and If you say No they say If you want your son,husband,brother ext to live you better listen!
Then they say the same story over & over again about a stupid motorcycle! People Do Not Get Taken for a Fool by these Stupid Ignorant Jerks! They will get caught only if we work together to make sure they get caught please report these numbers 787-246-1973!

Don't let the numbers fool you. Just cause the area code states its from Puerto rico does'nt mean thats where they're calling from. I know cause I recieved one of these calls and as we hung up the call someone showed up to the block I live on to ask If anyone had called about an accident. Beware of these a***oles to put it mildly.

Strange! my mother recieved a call on her cell with the same threats yesterday. Same accounts of the gas station story but odd thing; they had mentioned my sons first name and I almost believed it, A mothers worst nightmare to get a threatening phone call like that. As we hung up the phone on these jerks a few minutes later someone comes to my block asking if we had called about an accident. He looked like the only piece of s*** in the steet. Beware!

I just got a call from a 787-910-1268, saying one of my family member had been beaten and they had him hostage and i had to western union them 1,000 dollars in order for them to let me have him, obviously it was a fuking prank, after i became historical i called the "beaten family member" and they were home in one piece lol.hen i called them back told them to give me all the western union info to send the money, and like idiots they did. then i called back and told them hey, i think u got the wrong person cuz my "family member" is fine and everyone in my fam is fine you fuking retard!, That dumb-f*** did the scooby doo "HUH".m sharing this with all of you because i was terribly frightened and nervous and stormed out of work like a mad woman and in case this happens to you please know its not real!! I hope someone kills them all for the a***oles they are!

Recibi una llamada desde este telefono en el cual me decian que mi hijo habia chocado una motora( motocicleta) perteneciente al hermano del bandido q' estaba haciendo la llamada y que ellos tenian a mi hijo y le estaban pegando y que querian q les pagara $1000.00 que tenia menos de 1/2 hora para conseguirles el dinero, que no llamara a la policia, no cortara la llamada, ni llamara  a ningun otro, que si hacia eso a mi hijo lo mataban, que solo les consiguiera el dinero, y cuando tuviera el dinero en mi mano fuera al Publix mas cercano y le diera la direccion al infeliz que me estaba llamando para ellos ir a recoger y gastarlo en la q ya Uds. se imaginan droga y sexo.

Got the same call this morning, a man telling me my "brother" had given him my cell number to call me and that he needed help desperately as he was bleeding profusely after being hit with a "gun in the head".
Then, the man claimed that my brother was at a gas station and that he had "destroyed" this man's brother's motorcycle, so he needed payment immediately, that is why they didn't want to take him to the hospital as they wanted me to pay first. I could tell this was fishy.....I said "which gas station is he in?"....no answer, just more of the same story...."what kind of car is my brother driving?" , couldn't answer, only said that the car was at the gas station...., I then asked "just ask him to tell you his name' .....couldn't answer either.
He started getting nervous as I was asking too many Q's and gave me more threats, ....now....after he is realizing I wasn't budging the story turns to... my "brother" was so badly hurt he was now "unconcious" along with "do you want my cousin to kill him?... if you don't pay attention, he will kill him"..... Hmmmmmmm, sure..... so I said ....."go ahead, kill him as I have no brother" and hung up.

He Did not call back (of course)...I was shaken after it...... as I do have a brother, but where we live in south FL, these kinds of things wouldn't go unnoticed and the police would have intervened.....these scams happen in Latin America very often....the caller's phone number is from Puerto Rico.....doesn't surprise me....

I just got a call from this number in which they said that my brother had gotten in a very bad accident. The story was that my brother had had an accident and he "destroyed" his brothers motorcycle and that he did not understand anything that he just wanted the money to fix his bike. His brother has a very bad temper and broke my brother's head with a hammer and that he was bleeding profusly and if we wanted to save his life we needed to pay them $2,500.  I needed to wire the money and I needed to stay on the phone with him to make sure that I was not calling the police.  Once I pay them they would let me know where to find my brother. I received a call at 10:52 a.m today telling me my brother was hit in the back of the head and was severely injured. They make it seem that they need money to take your relative to the Hospital and to insure them that you will not report them to the police, since they're the cause of the "accident"
Police told me it's a well known scam, people call from Puerto Rico and demand a wire transfer.

I received a call yesterday from a guy talking in Spanish rom the same phone number, he told me that my oldest son was in an accident, I freaked out and hanged up, I started calling my son to verify that he was ok. This person called me again and asked me why I hanged up on him and I hanged up again. I realized then that my next door neighbor told me last week that someone called her husband and told him that their son was kidnapped. I was able to reach my son and he told me that he was ok, I was still in shock. When I came back to my house and I goggle the number I was taken to this page. These guys are monsters that want to take advantage of innocent people. There has to be a way to report them.
