Got a call from this same phone number saying they were Windows Service Center. Strong middle east accent from this caller. He said my computer was doing something it shouldn't have been. I immediately suspected this as phishing and asked the guy what their contact info is. He said 808-189-1442. I knew the 189 was a bogus exchange code and I told him "I don't think so...." dead air. He hung up. Don't know what these guys are after but hope folks don't buy into this scam.

I got a call this morning from this number informing me that they were from Windows tech support and that my IP address had been used in several illegal internet transactions. I asked them for my IP address and then made up an excuse to hang up, asking they call me back in 15 minutes. I've been told this is a scam, but the problem is the IP address they told me is correct. I took my computer to a professional that the company I work for uses for IT. I didn't give them any additional information, but they've been calling me back ever since and I'm nervous to answer my phone. How did they get my name and IP address??

Windows Tech support calling.... told me some hacker was using my computer to do illegal stuff. They tracked my IP to 101.192.10.001 (which of course isn't my IP) When I said it wasn't they asked me for the correct one. Didn't give it to him so he went on about how they must have the correct IP as they have my phone number.
So I asked him another question, who was it they were getting this information since my Windows computer is off the grid (aka no network cable attached)...
He hung up on me.... the nerve.
