Just got the same call in Ontario but he knew my life insurance info. Thing is he didn't know how to spell my first name so I hung up, rather loudly. It's a scam of some sort you can be sure of that.

We (Ontario, do not call list) have just received a call as well. They tried to sell us life insurance. I said we were not interestedand hung up.

Called me up today. Asked for Mr. & Mrs. #####. Claimed to be from the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Interesting as they are more of a regulating body instead of an insurance company. Started to give me spiel about the changes to my insurance policies. Was going to transfer me to his "supervisor". Got fed up and hung up.

Called just now here in Toronto. Claimed to be from Sun Life Financial, selling life insurance. Pressed him for company info but he just talked over me with his pitch so I hung up.

The name of the company is POS Solutions. They claim to be from Montreal but will not release any of their contact information. They can not release their phone number because "they are calling over the internet".
If you are interested they will be polite and courteous. If you are not interested they can be quite abusive and rude.

They just called...sounded Asian. Wanted to speak to the "owner". Told him we weren't a business and not to call again and remove my telephone number from their list.

Just got a call---it's regarding Visa/Mastercard Point of Sale machines. They will send my company information on how to get cheaper fees for renting the terminal along with cheaper processing fees.
Difficult time getting the guy off the phone---hung up and he called back.

I suspect this is from telemarketers. I am on the DNC list. I am able to block this number through my phone, but callers should not call people on the list.

Boy, when they spoofed this number they really went to town. They created a whole new area code, just for them. I'm only posting this in case they start bothering other people and they end up here. I got a call from this number on July 26th, 2012 and of course, they did not leave a message.
