I donate money directly to my nearest VA Hospital on a monthly basis. I have repeatedly asked that the Foundation For American Veterans (ph: 1-877-871-7162) to stop calling and sending me mail. I feel as if i am being harrassed because I am elderly. This is email is being sent on my behalf. I continually received mail from:

1-800-201-4910 Foundation for American Veterans have been calling me for months.  Lately it is 4 or 5 times a day and when I answer, no one is there.  I suggest everyone call the Better Business Bureau or your local and state Police and have them investigated.  It seems they want money and are doing this to a lot of people.  My question is this, Why don't they answer me if they want money?

He got me at a good time, wanted me to give $100 donation for prostectic limbs for our wounded troops coming back home. Told him only could afford $25. Found a article from the Hartford courant that said the veterans get pennies on the dollar if any at all. I don't think I'll send the check.

They keep calling for my husband and when I say he is working they hang up on me.  They finally called when he was home and then when they asked for a donation he said "no, cause you keep hanging up on my wife"  Why did they even do a "Do Not Call List"  I am on it and I still get calls and then they say that they do not count for the "Do Not Call List"

They called me and hounded me and I said I would donate $25.00 to the foundation because I support our Veterans but first I wanted to speak to someone about the amount of monies that the Veterans Assoc would be getting.  The supervisor got on the phone and said that $5.00 went to the Administrative cost and when I qauestion her about the rest of the monies she put on a "Manager".  I never got a straight answer from them and ended up hanging up on them and low and behold I got an envelope wanting me to send the money to them.  I shredded it and refuse to send them anything at all.  They never did confirm my name and address so I am not sending them a penny.  I checked with the BBB and the organization has not sent in anything on there organization even though they have been asked too.  I will not send one penny to them.  I also filed a report about them on the Do Not Call list.

These people call almost daily. I have caller id and I am on the national do not call list. I do not answer the phone and they never leave a message. Please get them to stop

They have been harassing me for a week.  the call at least three times a day starting at 3:pm central.  i have told them not to call back.  today when i told them that he said, 'give us some money, call you tomorrow.' and hung up.

They have called about 3-4 times a day at all hours...even in the evening.  I have not answered the phone,but will turn my phone ringer off for the rest of the day. I am tired of them and if they do not stop I will report them to the FCC.

Calls Continue for weeks now  A min of 3 a day.  Received at least 6 calls today,starting around 9am!  No one on the phone when we answer it. Call back there is a message saying they are the "Foundation for American Veterans" leave your number and gift amount.
Filed complaints with "DoNotCall" but the calls continue.

He said he was with the foundation for  american veterans and that this was a security issue.

These people have been calling us constantly, never leave a message. I have never had anyone call my house this many times in one day.

I have received two to three calls a day including weekends for the last two weeks and when I have answered the line is dead but connected until I hang up.

this number calls constantly from early am to 9pm. how can this be stopped. i have do not call but they continue calling.

I would like the calling from this number to stop

I don't even dare answer the phone anymore! They called every two hours all day long, and then three times in between 4 and 5 pm!

I am on the National do not call list and yet these people persist.
They ask for my wife ( by name ) because they know I will not be swindled'
Once I ask whose calling they hang up.
Is there nothing that can be done.
I am really getting fed up.

What good is the Do Not Call List? I guess that's the reason they call and hang up.  That way, if you have caller I.D., they hope you will call them and then it is not considered that they called you. Let them spend their time calling me and getting my machine, because there is no way that I answer these numerous calls.

These people call at least 6 times a day. They call and ask for my mother. I say she is at work. So they say i will call back at a better time. then they cal back ten minutes later asking for the same damn thing. Ugh greedy a** people!You donate once and they never stop!!!

Have been getting several calls a day.  No messages left.  Since getting caller ID, have not answered these calls, but they are still coming.  We are on the "Do Not Call List".  Feel this is severe harrassment.  Agree with previous comments about them not giving much to the troops.  Shut them down!  Even non-profits should honor those who ask to  be removed from their list.

Like most of the other comments, I get several of these a day.  Do not be confused however about the "Do not call" list.  If they are classified as "non profit," they do not have to subscribe to the do not call list.  I do wish something could be done however.  They are extremely aggressive, and as one writer noted, it is a very small percentage of the proceeds that actually go to any veteran's assistance agency.

This number has shown up on my caller ID for over a week. With at least 8-9 calls a day starting as early as 8:00 a.m and not ending till after 9:00 pm.I'm listed on the do not call list and it does NO good.
What other recourse can anyone do with a company ?? like this. I'm very tempted to go for an unlisted number with the phone co.
I'm fed up with these harassing phone calls.

This person keeps calling and asking for my husband. He said he is calling from the veterans administration. I explained that my husband is very ill and asked that he stop calling. (We have no affiliation with the VA). Today alone I have received two more calls since this morning when I asked that they stop calling.

Rec'd call yesterday Wednesday, August 29, 2009 @ 7:25PM PST.  Rep was very aggressive.  Advsd husband out of work right now and cannot afford to donate at this time, asked yet again to be removed from calling list, the guy kept saying he was going to mail me some kind of envelope and that I can put in the amt I feel comfortable with.  I told him over and over again not to and he kept saying that he was going to anyway and then he h/u.

Rec'd call today July 24, 2009 @ 5:50PM PST, person on phone stated he was calling from the "Vertans"  stated not interested and the guy h/u.  Rec'd 2nd call today July 24, 2009 @ 6:54PM PST, again stated not interested and the guy again, h/u.  Tried to call back heard recorded message asking to leave a message, no where did it give an option to remove myself from the calling list.  I pressed 0 and was told to enter an ext or press 0 for operator, pressed zero again and the line disconnected.
