I have a deadbeat brother, and because I have an unusual last name, the debt collectors call me since I am listed and my brother isn't.  Doesn't seem to matter that he lives in another city over 200 miles away.  They call me.  I have filed complaints but it does no good.  Should I call them back and tell them they have the wrong number?

I received 4 calls from a Mr. Leonard. which started on Thurs  He identified himself as Mr. Leonard and Ray Leonard.  His 3rd call was at 9:30am on a Sat morning - all from witheld numbers.  I let them go to voice mail.  He left vague versions of the fact that I had a complaint filed against me...or I was to have a complaint or I needed to call back so he could take my recorded deposition to waive my rights, or he was going to tell me what the judge decided. He said if would affect any future property or vehicle purchase. On Monday he then said he was filing on behalf of Citibank debt collection.  He had my correct PO box and said he had sent me paperwork....however I never got this paperwork that he mentioned.  I ended up calling him back and stating that he needed to resend me whatever it was that he sent in the first place.  I also wanted debt validation....as in a signed copy of a credit agreement or anything he had to prove that I was the person he was looking for.  He called back stating that I because of my attitude that he didn't want to help me and to have my attorney call him before end of day.  I checked with the local court clerk to see if anything was filed - and there hasn't been.

if you have received a nasty call from 800-214-5302 you may try to see if you can talk to stefon martinez. he was very courteous to me and helped me get a reasonable settlement amount so that the account i owed was paid off in full. i did get anther call from the same place from who i assume was mr. beers , because he was a real xxxxx,[well i don't use that kind of language],well anyway he was a jerk. he wanted me to give him a post-dated check over the phone and if i didn't my settlement offer would be void and i would have to pay the full amount plus some extra charges. i called mr. martinez and he took care of the situation for me, and i ended up not post-dating a check and paid it when i hzd the money to pay it, and now it is paid n full. thank you stefon martinez.   from d. carlson

Threatening call on my cell phone about some kind of legal action for
someone, not for me.  Called to let them know they need to remove that number and oh, my goodness, it was the most rudest person I have ever dealt with named Spencer...hung up on me three times and was just screaming at me
that I had an attitude.  Not a good way to start out your day!
