I got the same bs call from sam lopez he was talking as if i had a court date and  surrendered my rights blah blah blah needless to say the convo ended with me telling him to go f*** his mother!

After getting a new phone number last year, I've had to deal with phone calls from collection agencies looking for the guy who had the number before me. This makes number five, I think.... So anyway, I called back this number that they left and got Sam Lopez's answering machine the first two times. On the third try, I got Sam himself, and explained to him that the phone number no longer belonged to the other guy. He took the number out of the database, was very courteous. So far, after the other collection agencies have said they've taken the number out of the database, I don't receive calls from them....

Now, I know that the consensus is that collection agencies are Blood-sucking hounds, and I agree in some cases, I went through this some years ago myself. I'm not trying to convince anyone they are good people, I just don't care.

BUT, I really am starting to have beef with people that owe money and change their cell number. Yes. Someone else gets your cell phone number after you ditch it. Not cool.

Sam Lopez called from an 'UNKNOWN' number and asked for me by my first name, not my whole name. I said who is calling this is a business number?  He went around the question and repeated asking for me and then said my last name wrong!! He said he had sent mail that was returned regarding a 'TAX ISSUE'!!
I told him i would pass the message on and asked for name, number, etc. And then asked him 'what tax issue was this regarding?' he said he couldn't tell me. so I asked, county, city, state, Federal? He said..yes, yes, federal!  B.S.!
I HAVE AN ACCOUNTANT AND MY ADDRESS IS CORRECT WITH THE DMV AND THE IRS...TOTAL SCAM/COLLECTION TYPE OF THING GOING ON HERE..
The only collections i might have would be prior to my divorce..which are uncollectable due to statute of limitations..please check online for time frames of statutes!  these companies think people are just plain stupid...

This is a collection agency for Santander. They called and tried to tell me that I owed them $12,000 on a $7,000 bill! She then tried to insult my intelligence by telling me that I was yelling at her and she told me (like I was a 3 year old) to get a pen and paper and take down information that she wanted me to have after I told her I was going to research the information for myself. The company is Commercial Rcovery Systems. I believe that they are a mom & pop collection agency with rude and curt people calling everyone on the phone.

I called back to have them remove my number...sooooo rude!  No customer service skills.

Same number (600-214-5303) a woman now...."susan McKeenan" (sp?) ...no infor just a case number and implied threat.....99% sure it's a scam!!!

I received a rather threatening message on my answering machine from a guy who left this number. The caller id comes up unknown number. Said he was from Dallas Texas. Have no idea who it could be.

Got a call from a John Beers who gave this number stating he was an attorney attempting to collect on a debt, threatening to file a lawsuit on behalf of his client.

Got a message from a Mr. Beers in the Dallas, TX area stating that I "call back or since the company is in the same state as me..they can come and notify me in persons as is their legal right" and when I called back, he (or at least a  guy's voice) answered the phone with "hello" (not company or personal greeting). When I told him that I was returning a call...he said "I need to get your number and call you back. I'm on the other phone line with other people or do you have an attorney representing you".  I told him "before we go any further, who is this". He told me that "I can't release any information until I verify you. So I will tell them that they can go ahead and sue you".  He hung up the phone. Very rude. Very uptight.

Got a voicemail message from "Mr. Beers" stating he was calling on behalf of his client. He stated in the message that if we didn't get back to him or have our attorney contact him he'd tell his client to sue. When we called back I asked who it was regarding and he said, "Well I have no idea who it was unless you give me your name and information." This seems like a scam artist to me!

Almost daily, I receive a phone call with an automated generated message indicating to call 1800-214-5303 re: a person named Myra (can't understand the last name), but that is not my name or any of my family members.  It gives an account number to reference regarding Myra.  I'm not about to call a number that I can't identify.  Tried reverse lookup on 411.com and it says no such number exists.

Received A CALL FROM THIS #, FROM A MR. BEERS SAID IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ME OR MY ATTORNEY CALL, MADE A CALL, AND ADS FOR STAPLES CAME ON, OTHER THAN THAT NO COMPANY NAME OR ANYTHING ELSE.

I got the same exact call from a Mr. Beers on my voice mail.  He wanted me or my attorney to call him back.  Not returning a call unless I know what it is regarding.

A Mr Beers left a message on my work voice mail.  He said that it was  extremely important that me or my attorney return his call immediately.  He didn't say who he was with or what it was in regards to.  I'm not returning a call to someone who can't even leave basic information.  He sounds really gruff and rude.  why would I want to call someone like that.  I can't even imagine what he would want or why he is calling me anyway. Sounds like a scam to me.

Left a message to call back, but when I called he answered the phone with "hello" (no company name or personal name greeting). I told him that I was returning a phone call and he said he needs to get my number and call me back because he was on the phone with other people". I said "before we go there...who are you?" He wouldn't give out who he was or whom he worked for. He just said "Find then they would sue me".  He hung up the phone. Very Odd.

But in this economy and this world...I don't think I have to give out information on a phone call made to me.
