This company calls and leaves voice mail that a complaint has been filed against me and that my rights have been revoked.   He does not give any information as to what company he is representing.  This man is very rude, threatening and harassing.

I have recently heard from this same Wendy Smith.  I have had to file a complaint with the BBB and FTC.  She is threatening to come take the pennies out of my pocket.  She is a firstclass --tch!

I got a message from this number looking for my boyfriend.Never once left his name or what company he was calling from and that by not contacting him back would wavier his rights on the matter and to "not take lightly" the issue at hand.He was calling regarding a "document" that was placed on his desk. But before I got this message I was talking with my mother and she said that someone called her house looking for my boyfriend and that my boyfriend gave my father his name as a reference but wouldnt state any reason why he was calling.I get the message later it's this guy,i looked at the time and called my mom back and sure enough it was right around the same time when she got her phone calls from him.On her caller I.D. commerc systems came up on my cellphone it was unavailable. So i felt it was weird so i started looking on the net and it didnt take me long to find these postings.I'm not going to have my bf call him back.

When I receive calls such as this, I tell them that I am neither denying or saying the claim.  Send me the information in writing and then we'll talk.  Until such time, I will not make payment arrangements before I know exactly what this is concerning or if it is even mine.  Sometimes they get ugly and say stuff like "oh so you aren't going to pay your debts?" and I just say NO, not until I know for sure if they are actually mine!  Don't let these people scare or bully you into paying them.  They can sound really convincing and to be honest, I learned the hard way.  One got me for about $500 and then I later found out it was a bogus company.  There is a Rick Williams at this company that will tell you that he will keep calling and harassing you and your references even after he has been told to cease and desist.  Keep track of their calls so that you can report them to your phone company as harassing calls.

SCARE TACTIC ALERT!!!

I'm sitting at my desk, and a call comes in at 1:50pm...Caller ID shows "Unknown Caller." I let the answering maching pick up because that's what answering machines do...they answer. ;-)

Some woman named "Wendy Smith" leaves a very brusque message for me "concerning a pending affadavit of complaint that I received in my office per state of Texas."

Wendy Smith never bothered to identify herself as a debt collector. She did not identify the firm she works for, either.

Wendy Smith went right into scare tactic mode (read this with a scary voice):
"It's to your best interest that you do contact this office today before 6pm. I can be reached at 1-800-214-7838. Case number assigned to the lawsuit is XXXXXX-2X. This is very serious and failure to contact this office...point of contact will be made at your place of employment and/or your home address. Return this call today."

Wasn't it nice of me to keep a copy of this voice message? I think it might be useful in a court of law, except it won't be helpful to Ms. Wendy Smith. She broke the law.

I have received calls from this very number and I've talked to 2 different guys. 1st guy was nice and said his name was dave freeman that he was calling about a debt I had with a company. He actually knew who the company was and the balance. The next time I talked to them I got this guy named emerson abbott. He started threatening me about garnishing my wages and hung up on me. I called back to see if something else could be worked out and he said threatened again and hung up.

I got a call today and yesterday from this number saying he was "Investigator James" and I needed to return his call. He had the last 4 digits of my social security number. He said he wanted to verify my address. My caller ID said "No number" and he left two messages but only one caller ID turned up. Sounds very fishy and I am suspicious how he got my number to begin with. He left this 800-214-7836 as his call back number. How did he get around my caller ID?

Totally outraged by my earlier incident with Mr/ Greg Lewis from CRS, I started to investigate & look for a way to file a complaint. The FTC informed me that CRS WAS NOT a legitimate company and basically are scamming people. She instructed me not to answer their calls or to hang up on them. I also filed a complaint with Greg Abbott, TX Attorney General's office.

I received a voicemail message from Greg Lewis stating that " You or your attorney needed to call asap". I returned the call, but had to leave a message. This morning, Greg Lewis returned my call & the conversation went as follows:

Greg:I'm returning your call.
Me: Who is this?
G:Greg Lewis. You called me.
M: Yes, I did. I was returning your call.
Silence...
M:ok....
G:OK?!OK?! is that all you have to say is ok? I'm calling in regards to a lawsuit that you are involved in".

At this point, I'm confused about a lawsuit, have no clue what he's talking about and asking for an explanation. He starts sarcastically laughing and yelling saying that I know what he's talking about and they are going to garnish my wages. I explained that I understood his position but he would not speak to me like that & I wanted to speak to someone else. He hung up. I called back. He immediately starts yelling about me being rude (which I never said anything out of the way or loud because I was at my desk). I told him that I wanted to see what was going on. He said that I should have been trying to figure out what was going on a long time ago. As I'm trying to explain that I have not received anything in writing or phone calls, he insist that I had. Then he yells "YOU BORROWED MONEY FROM A BANK. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PAY IT BACK"!! I said, "May I please speak to someone else. Is anywhere else there"? He said "sure you want to speak with my boss? He's worse than me". At that point, the angry black woman did appear & let him know exactly what I thought about him & his boss.

Until finding this post, I had no clue what company Greg Lewis was representing. I understand his profession, but at the end of the day you don't speak to anyone the way he spoke to me. I will be researching to find out how to file a complaint against Greg Lewis and his company. If anyone has this information already, please forward to felisha.short@yahoo.com

this gregg lewis guy has been trying to contact me for the past couple of weeks now. little did i know it was me he was looking for becasue he called my moms neighbor first. sope to the neighbor and told them go go get my mother because they know she lives their. my mom was scared and paranoid thinking somebody was stalking her or something. especially since "greg" did not give the name of his company. Since the call sounded very suspicious i decided to call this guy myself to get some info so my mom could calm down. low and behold this guy was looking for me. ok, so. if you are a debt collector why dont you have my address and phone number already. especially since i still have a open account with the business they are collecting for. when i called the guy he was rude, of course and snappy. he wanted to get info from me but i couldnt get info from him. when i confronted him about calling my moms neighbor he didnt want to hear it. a week goes by and he calls my house. i am not home but another family member answers and absolutly does not give my info to him. so he call my neighbor. SERIOUSLY! so i had to start my research JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE DEBT DOES NOT MEAN WE SHOULD BE HARRASED. WE HAVE RIGHTS http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs27-debtcoll.htm
