Don't know if I'm to late. There's a scam where scammers call and hang up. You get curious and call back that number. Then your put on hold immediately without knowing it's like $2.99/min. You don't know because you're put on hold right away.
How money is made that way, I'm not sure.

I do not know if the call I received was from 800-225-6709 as I did not use star 69;  however, the caller,"Tina" did have a Filipino accent, did say she was calling from the Philippines, and did say she was calling on behalf of SPT.  She called it a survey on recycling and asked me a lot of personal questions that I was uncomfortable asking (am I married; do I have a pet; do I own or rent; how long have I lived in this house; what field do I work in; what field does my husband work in; how long has he worked in that field; is he part time or full time: am I the 'lady of the house'; does anyone here have asthma; do I recycle; and...  what's my first name.  SEVERAL times I told her I was not comfortable answering her questions; she just kept saying, just one more question... I should have just hung up. I feel paranoid giving ANY information out to a total stranger from some weird unsolicited call. At nearly 9 pm.

I hung up on them twice yesterday but I am assuming that their Company policy is not to give up until they talk to someone since they called again tonight. The Company "STP" is named for the initials of the names of the owner and their son. They operate from the Philippines. I told them that I was not interested, to remove me from their calling  list and threatened to report them to the CRTC since my number is on the "Do Not Call List". At least I think it is. i am going to re-verify since I am getting more nuicance calls than I should.

I've received 4 calls from that exact 1 800 # over the last 24hrs.  I only answered one of the calls and it was a females voice in a foreign language??!!

Had several calls from this number starting 0900 UK Time today.  The caller ID varies ( even during the call ! ) from 'unknown through a prefixed 41 - which I initially took to be the misdialled code 141 we use to 'cloak' or hide our caller ID from the recepient - yet never showed 'international' - strange.

I refuse to answer wiered caller ID's - simply logging the details. My UK number is on the Telephone Preference Service List supposedly to prevent unsolicited Spam calls.

There really is a market out here just waiting for some bright software writer to develop a program to either automatically disconnect or fight back against these wilfully malicious timewasters.

This number called me 14 times today over about 3 hours and once when I was home from work. They also called last week wanting to do a survey with the lady of the house and asked me if I recycle, I told them not to call back but they obviously didn't understand what I meant.

Asked for the man of the house..... She called my business. I told her it was a business, and she hung up on me.

We have had numerous phone calls daily from this number.  When we call it back we get a message 'this number is not available from your calling area'.  How do we STOP this invasion of privacy?

A lady with a foreign  accent twice, the second time promising a gift for a survey
she had taken earlier.   It was a phony.

Today I got 5 or 6 calls from this supposed number! So I decided to look in my cellphone instruction book and see if I could block calls from that number. It turns out I can block those calls, but only by blocking ALL calls from numbers not in my list of Contacts. So thanks to these phone terrorists, now I can not get a phone call from anybody whom I might know, but whose phone numbers are not saved in my phone's list.

Yes, a woman speaking English with a foreign accent asked if I was the man of the house, then after I said yes, I listened for about 5 seconds before I hung up. Since then, they keep calling 3 or 4 times a day, but after seeing that hated phone number on my caller ID, I do not answer.

I am still deciding on what I can do to get them back for the harassing calls. Either I can never answer them again, or I could answer once and scream: STOP F*%@ING CALLING ME, STOP F*%@ING CALLING ME,  STOP F*%@ING CALLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 calls in 2 days including one late in the evening.  There is no answer after my greeting BUT there are these caller ID's...V06160542340051 and V06161031420051

Three calls just today and the day is not over yet. No message is left. When I call back, a recorded message states that this 800 number is disconnected.  Therefore, the entity or person behind this number is not really calling from the number displayed. I have been on the "Do Not Call" list for years, not days, not a couple of weeks. If I reverse scam these scammers, the appropriate regulatory authorities will be immediately contacted, including the FTC, FCC, local police, etc. I would not doubt that this number is associated with another number that calls before or after I ignore a call from 800-225-6709. The other number is 800-334-5698; and again a number with a recorded message stating to check the number and try again.  One would think with all the tracking technology that someone's government somewhere would figure out how to shut down these telecommunication foot sloggers.

Called three times today with a bizarre caller ID where someone's name would be - V05110928240047 or similar - changed slightly every time. Left no message either time.

I get calls from this number every day. I try to call back and it says I can't from my area, which is Alberta, Canada

As a rule I don't answer unidentified callers and I already have quite a list of scammers; This one is a new one; Just called today first time.

I GET THIS EVERYDAY FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS.  'THEY' ASKED FOR THE 'MAN' OF THE HOUSE.  ONCE 'SHE' STARTED TALKIN', I JUST HUNG UP.  NOW WHEN I SEE THE #, I JUST PICK UP THE RECEIVER & PUT IT BACK INTO THE CRADLE TO DICONNECT.

I have had 3 calls from this number in the last 12 hours - 2 in the last 1 hour......

I have been receiving callls from this number regulary. When I answer, they hang up. I also am in aLBERTA cANADA AND AM UNABLE TO CALLL BACK

June 12/10 - got a call from this number. She asked if I was the Lady of the house. I am. it was a one minute survey on the air environment.

We get calls from this number regularly sometimes as often as 30 minutes apart. When we say, "Put me on your do not call list" they hang up WHILE WE'RE SPEAKING to get around it, and then call back within an hour. They hang up every time, while we're talking, but continue to call. Hate them.

My phone is registered on the " do not call list " but I still get calls from this number ???

I wish these damn people would quit calling my number!!!! Why can't something be done about this 800 225 6709?? I do the reverse number and some female says that this number is out of the area. Why don't these jerks get a life and quit harassing society!

Finally got someone to talk to me, they gave me a 403 area codse nume that doesn't exist. These calls are coming from the philipinesClaim they are doing a survey. Looked up the number and it does not exist.Supposedly for a company called SPD. Told them they were not to call again

wow... just out of curiosity I typed this number into google as they've also been calling me constantly for the last month or so, just the rest of these reports, they never leave a message... except for one instance when all I heard was "hello, hello... hello??, then a click"

they've called up to 5 times in one day... and they always call at least once a day.

I'm glad I looked this up.

I NEVER answer 800 numbers, unless they leave a legitimate message.

Update:

They called again - this time there was a person on the other end, so I pressed the caller for some answers.

They are a company operating out of the Philippines under contract from a company known as SPT for a one-minute survey. I was not interested in the survey but asked for company information and headquarters as well as what the letters of the company stood for, to which the caller did not know.

I asked if the letters were STD and suggested that they stood for something a little less ?proper? but the caller insisted that the letters of the company were SPT.

Long story short, after I explained the harassment from the number of calls over the past month, she said she was sorry and would remove my name personally from the list. We?ll see how long that lasts?

Let me add that on the name displayed it sometimes shows up as the following: ?V06270614230052? ? Does that mean anything? Or does it simply mean that the same fruitcake has called again? They called again for the second time today and I was actually home, no answer. How can these sleaze buckets live with themselves?

For over a month now I have consistently received at minimum one phone call per day from this number. I?m never home when they call so I?ve not been able to get any information. If someone can get me a web address, I?ll make sure we are all off their lists?.
