Anyone know who's number this is? 800-231-2957

These cretins have been calling my cell phone number about 100 times and never left a message until today.  I never answer a cell phone call with the number blocked as "Unknown" or "Private".  They finally left a msg with 800-231-2957, ext. 5118 as the call back number.  Something to do with a Kohls (Dept Store) account for someone not associated in any way with this phone number.  I told them it is a nuisance and to immediately remove my number from their lists.  (I got no answer as to why no one was willing to leave a message any of the other 99+ times they called my number)

in fact the number does not belong to kohl's dept store it's a thrid party collection company called tritium card services who handles past due accounts from kohl's credit. these accounts are from 90 to 200+ past days over due this collection company will collect as much as possible as it can the payments consist from a min. payment to a settlement of up to 60% depending where you live. but like all collection companies the higher the payment they get the bigger the collection agent receives its bonus.

AFTER SEVERAL DAYS UNKNOWN NO CALLER ID, REPRESENTATIVE CALLED AGAIN, I ANSWERED & I DISCOVERED A ED DOUGLAS FROM TRIVIUM COLLECTIONS, WOULD NOT GIVE ME AN ADDRESS, HE DID GIVE ME THIS PHONE # AND WHEN I CALLED BACK ANOTHER AGENT
GAVE ME AN PO BOX ADDRESS, WHICH I BELIEVE BELONGS TO KOHLS DEPARTMENT
STORE .

This number called.   A guy left a message saying that he was attempting to locate a Tony Bowman.  He said that if I was not Tony Bowman to not listen to the rest of the message.  He then left a message stating that he was trying to contact Tony Bowman due to a unresolved personal debt.  He then left a call back number of 800 231 2957 ext 5239.  I am not Tony Bowman, but this is around the 20th time I have received calls for this person.  I called the number that the guy left, then turned on my recorder while I waited.  Got through to a lady with a New York/New Jersey accent.  She asked me what extension, then told me it was unavailable when I gave it to her.  She then asked if I was Tony Bowman.  I told her no, and that I wished for them to stop calling my number.  She then asked how I knew Tony Bowman, and did he live here because they needed to reach him about a debt.  I told her I didn't know any person by that name.  She then started to ask me another question when I cut her off and said I wasn't playing 20 questions with her, and was in the process of telling her to remove my number from their calling list so they will stop calling and leaving messages when she hung up on me.

What could happen if someone listed a car for sale in the regional antique car trader magazine.  Maybe a 62 Vette in great condition.  The number to call, of course, will be 800 231 2957.

Received a call from Brooke Macy at Tritium wanting to talk to my daughter who is married & hasn't lived here in 6 years.  When told she didn't live here, caller then wanted my daughter's phone #.... which of course we did not give!

more likely they got your inlaws phone # by skip tacing(this means somehow you used that phone# somewhere and they found that record), and has leaving person information to thrid party; this is agaings the law and you can sued them. for futher information about FDCPA follow the link.

more likely he was transfering you to an agent. If you aren't the person they are trying to reach, your phone# belongged to that person before you! The only way they will stop calling is that you speak to them and tell them that you don't know such person and they will remove your phone#; but if the person they're trying to reach has multiple debt's you will receive many calls from different agencies and this might take you a while before you don't receive any more calls. I would log each call from the agencies, take name of agent, company they're calling from, the person they're trying to contact, and that you request to stop calling and that you don't know such person. if the calls continue after you told them to stop you can report the company and sued them. this vialotes FDCPA.

These people called my inlaws whose number isn't on my account and left personal info with a man who lives with them (not even related).  Turns out it is a delinquent account, but they are giving out my personal info with strangers!!

We've received 3 or 4 calls from these people (1-800-231-2957) - today they finally left a message, intended for an unfamiliar name (stivartha?) so I called back. The actual phone number they called from was from the 402 area code.
The automated answerer did not give a name, only saying "this call may be recorded for quality or training purposes". A man came on and asked how he could help. I said I was returning a call at ext.#5087 - he put me on silent hold. After two minutes the call disconnected. If they call again I will pick up and ask that they not call again.

Been calling many times.  Today left message to return call and left number to  phone (1-800-231-2957) ext.132.  Caller had strong Chinese accent... could not really understand all she said. A credit card (which I only have one) was something ??? It sounded as if she mumbled her words on purpose so that one could not tell for sure the name of the card.

Tritium I know is a 3rd party collection agency for many different companies and they arent allowed to give out any personal info on the acct they are calling for until they are for sure they have the correct customer on the phone.  If you are recieving calls for somebody else they may have skiped traced a customer and recieved your number as a hit (possbly because they had your number before or it's similar)

I also received a call.  A person by the name of Susan Allen who said she was with Tritium.  The return number that I was given was 800 231-2957 ext.#5112
