If you call a toll free number from a pay phone it cost them about $0.30 for each call.  If everybody would call the toll free number from a pay phone several times a day their cost of business would increase - perhaps enough that they would go out of business  When calling the toll free number you just have to make sure the call connects.  You don't have to have a conversation.  Once the call connects, even if it’s just for a second, they get charged the $0.30

I'm afraid I can't put my financial faith into a company that is not even BBB accredited.  If they were legitimate, they would have strong legal backing.

Yeah .. I got the same runaround. They are "Financial Protection Center" in this incarnation (they even have a fancy website for you to check out). Made the mistake of sending them my info to lower my interest rates, and promised me that if they couldn't save me at least $3600 in a year that they would give me a refund. I should have known there was a problem when I didn't receive the "Welcome packet" in a timely manner. Have been leaving messages for almost two months, because nobody ever picks up the phone, all you get is voicemail. Stay away .. it's a scam!  Very sorry I ever listened to them.  Filed a complaint with the BBB of Atlanta, someone from FPC called me the very next day and made an appointment for me with one of their financial advisors .. HA! They never called back at the specified appointment time.

You guys are idiots.. this program actually does work. And they do save you money. I did this program for my grandmother who is in debt and they have done wonders for her.

To all you people who are saying this is a scam... its your loss.

well it is really unfortunate that you all can call that company a scam but have never actually tried it.  It's a shame how so many people are in severe credit card debt but are to afraid to let someone help them.  This company is legal and really do help.  I have used them personally

I've read all of these statements and am a person who received a call from Financial Protection Center and find the "qualification process" that everyone is stating to be true...my only defense in these allegations are that these are all from people who DID NOT enroll in the program, so how do you know if it's a scam or not if you never got to find out if it ACTUALLY works???? They have a full refund policy, and I actually found all of their gurantees to be fulfilled and beneficial...

Hannah Lowery from Financial Protection Center called wanting to negotiate interest rates with our credit cards. She gave us her name and number and then told us about their "guarantees". She told us the call would be recorded and that we would recieve copies of the recordings so that they would be bound by law to do what they say. Everything sounded great at first until she told us that she would have to charge our credit card $1895.00 but it would not do anything to our minimum payment and it would not effect us. While we were on the phone I got on the computer and googled the company. Luckily we found this site before it was too late. When we started reading we told them we were not interested and hung up. They called back about 7 times. The first number she called from just said "private number". When she called back the caller id said Atlanta, GA and the # was 678-741-5400 but the # she gave us was 1-877-317-6098.

I googled the company and found this web page. Thank you! I declined their services adn will stick to negoitating cc rates on my own.

I just received one of these calls, it's everything each one of these people has said.  I researched the information while they were giving me a sales spiel and found out about the scam.  I hung up and called my credit card to cancel the card and have a new one issued, just in case they tried to charge me the $1295 anyway.

First it was a recording, saying credit card services could offer me a lower interest rate, but it was a limited time offer.  I hadn't caught the name of the company, so I pressed the button to see which card was calling me.  Immediately I was wary when they said they could negotiate with any of the 500 some odd credit lenders.  I made the mistake of giving them my account number when prompted, fooled momentarily by the provided reasoning: Just this account number and zip code isn't enough for me to make charges with.  They needed to validate the amount of debt I had and that the account was in good standing.  When she asked me for my name and address I vocalized that I was wary and that I needed some sort of proof that this wasn't a scam.  She tried to tell me that the account manager later was the only one who had the authorization to give me the phone numbers, email addresses, and websites I require, and that she didn't see why I was so concerned.  When I continued to protest an 'account manager' broke onto the line and handled me, going on and on about why they needed to validate the information and so on.  I had found a blog mentioning that this set up was a scam and said so to her--that's when an 'account manager' broke onto the line with a quickness. (Something I have never experienced with a real company, this 'monitoring' he spoke of.)  He tried to reassure me that this was only validation of information.  The fact that he had to type in my name and address further bothered me.  If it was validation, they wouldn't have the enter the information in.  After this they sent me to another account manager for more validating, where he gave me the 800 number: 1-800-231-5064, his name was Justin Baker, and he worked for the company Financial Protection Center.  He made sure I wrote all of this down, a method to reassure me that he wasn't hiding and that he was honest and legitimate.  While he went on about how he could save me all of this money I looked up the information and found this website.  Everything said here was exactly what was going on, and everyone said it was a scam.  I hung up while he was still talking, and while I cancelled my card with my credit company, they tried to call me back no fewer than seven times.

I'm glad I was smart enough to see the warning signs, glad that I looked it up, glad that I got to my card in time, and gladdest that this site was here to help me validate the worries I was having.  They get you where you know you're weakest: Saving you money on the terrible debts we've created for ourselves.  I hope this site continues to help others and be careful!

1(800)231-5064 refuses to provide you the company name for a reason.  It was previously reported as Clear Breeze which has received many complaints online (just Google to find out).  Clear Breeze is now morphed into Card Member Service and Financial Protection Center, and probably many other names in the future when it is caught up with fraud complaints.  Publish your complaints to protect other potential fraud victims.

Got a call from Ray Anderson at 800-231-5064 x2123 trying to charge $1800 to my credit card up front ostensibly to save me at least $4000 in credit card interest in the long run.  But pay attention to the words he used.  They will charge your credit card a large sum of money up front just to SHOW you within 30 days that they could save you more money in the next several months and years by negotiating lower interest rates for your credit cards' balances.  It was a boiler room sale pressure tactics to swindle credit card debtors of their credit card money.  They went by the name of Card Member Services and Financial Protection Center which are not present on the open web.  When Ray Anderson forcefully transferred me to Linda Manton for verification of my qualification for their credit card interest rate reduction service, I refused to sign up  and insisted them to send me the service info in writing first.  They started having various managers and supervisors persuading me to take their offer because it would no longer be available upon the end of the call if I declined and later changed my mind.  I knew then that it was clearly a CON.  You could be the next target so beware of this high pressure swindle from these people.

Caller "Ray Anderson" said they represent a company called Financial Protection Center offering to negotiate lower interest rates with my credit card companies. Asked for information on how much debt I have at what interest rates etc.
They transferred me from person to person, reluctantly gave me answers to my own questions and tried to convince me to let them charge $1495 fee to my credit card account!- then became beligerant when I said I wasn't comfortable with that. After hanging up, I called the phone number they gave and got a recording saying no company name, just that I had reached customer service and the office is closed-call again.
I immediately called my credit card company to report that I have not and will NOT approve any charge to this company! I also added credit protection to my account. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Financial Protection Center Mark MacDonald ext 10506 8002315064  They said that they needed to verify my credit card balances to make sure I had 3000 of debt.  They wanted to verify that I had a card with a higher available balance. Thought it sounded suspicious.  They are very convincing.  The name on caller ID was James Anderson and phone number was 863-467-8918.  I tried to look company up online at same time and there was no information available.  I also checked the BBB.  I found this website by just listing the phone# in a google search.  Glad I did!  I canceled my cards IMMEDIATELY!

Tried to run 1400 on my credit card saying they could save me money. She stated that since it was recorded they could not take me and that by law the I was not responsible. They put me on hold called my credit card 800 number to verify standing and that I had enough balance for their fee. THey said I was approved.  ?????  They don't know anything about me income or any thing else. This led me to believe this was not legit. During a hold time I called and put a hold on my card. After I found out what it was renegotiating rates I told her I did not want to have rates renegotiated. They said I was an idiot and why was I still on the phone after I said no.  I hung up.  She told me her name was Destiny Davis  at 800-231-5064  ext 2010.  I called 800 number they are open 10:00 5:00 eastern. She sd the name of company Financial Protections Center.

yep - i fell for it.  they caught me at a weak moment, because I need to have some interest rates reduced.  It's the clear breeze folks and they didn't give me their name.  They gave me one, but it was bogus.   I called my credit card to stop the charges, but they said it would have to post before they could dispute it and that's how I found the name. I really want them to be real but I doubt it.
