THEY ARE A BUSINESS CALLING YOU ABOUT A MEDICAL BILL

Received the call. No real information/no person, just a voice asking me to call back.  I don't believe I have any outstanding bills...this will be a blocked number in my book.

Got a few messages from these people. I am sorry but I don't blindly call numbers back to retrieve a message. For all I know, these clowns could be in the Dominican Republic and it could be that telephone billing scam. Certain phone numbers can charge back thousands of dollars to your phone bill. Look it up, its on Snopes and confirmed as true.

I don't have any outstanding medical bills.  I always pay my bills.  I think this company called me by mistake.

These guys are insane in the brain.  They need to leave more details on their message so people actually want to call them back.

Got a call from this number and looked it up.  Was concerned that it was a scam, but also saw that some people were saying it was legit (wife had a trip to the ER last week).  In the message "Nick" from "Business Office" mumbled that he was returning a call on his voicemail to me and to call them back.  I never made a call to them in the first place.  I thought this was strange so I called the number back and got the legit company on the other end and talked to one of their people.  They said that they hadn't called my number and that no "Nick" worked there.  They also said in any message they leave the would leave your name and account number.  "Nick" did not do this.  I asked if they did business with my hospital and they confirmed that they did not.  The operator I talked to was very helpful and I am sure stuff like this makes their jobs hard.  It seems like their number could be being spoofed for phising purposes.  I also did call my hospital's billing department and they did not have a "Nick" working there either, and that all my accounts were clear.  The operator at my hospital also said they hadn't called me and if they had called they would leave info like your name and account number.  Hope this helps anyone who reads this.  This kind of thing is very annoying and kind of scary.  If I could have done it over I wouldn't have called the 800 number and just called my hospital directly.

Leaves message and does not state what its concerning. Call them back, and I get a voice mail. Very fustrating!

I just received the same message.  I do not call back numbers that do not leave information on their identity.  If you are correct that this is collection/AR company, I have a bill that is due on July 5th.  Last I look, it is only the 2nd of July.

Automated call told me to contact the number, not sales or telemarketing related.  Yes, it is a collections agency for unpaid medical bills.  I had one which was I had overlooked for two months (my fault) and I sent the full payment in the same day I got the call.  Spoke to a nice woman and she explained what the issue was and I told her what I wrote above.  It was pleasant and quick and there were no problems.  If you are being called, you probably owe money.  So pay up and you won't be bothered anymore.  These calls just don't appear out of the blue for no reason.  Although I do wish they were messages sent by a live human and not a computer.

Sorry, I'm not available to take your call nor am I eager to call you back..

I get these calls occasionally and what gets me is that they say they're leaving a message for me by name...to pick up my message call this number.

got a call from this number, they claim to represent Lawrence memorial Hospital and that I had a problem with my insurance, I knew it was impossible, plus th claims for the date they indicate had been settled, they new I had been to the hospital on that date.

Received multiple calls from their automated voice service. Called back on a recorded line, and informed them that I was recording the conversation. They are a firm called ROI - "Recievable Outsourcing Information". They are a collection agency for medical offices.

Said they represented local hospitals, But only afer I gave them my name then they asked
my date of birth - which I did NOT give them. Have no outstanding medical bills so this
is most certainly a identity theft attempt/and or SCAM. (and she could barely speak english)
BEWARE...

Recv'd a cut off beginning of an automated voice mail asking me to press '9' to retrieve the message.  It then goes on to say my name and asks me to call 800-243-9797.  After reading the earlier submissions.  I deleted the message and did not call the number.

they called saying it was regarding my 7 year old son but refused to speak to me as they were looking for my ex husband.  They were very rude when I questioned them about how they got my phone number as I've had the phone less time than I've been divorced.  They would not give me any information at all other than it was regarding my son.  As a mother that is the most frustrating thing to be told with out any other information - I mean c'mon - that's just a low blow from even a collection agency.

This is a bill collection agency looking for someone who used to have the cell number currently assigned to me.   I have called them 4 times to ask them to remove me from their database.  They always say they have taken the number out, but a few days later I get another call.   This is my business number and I am sick of getting calls at 3 am while I am in China, and during meetings.  How
do I file a complaint?

Got a call today on my voice mail with this number with the same information as stated in all of the above messages. I have not called back.  I have medical bills, but nothing overdue.

Received a call from 800-243-9797 at 11:59 a.m. Eastern time. Computerized call. Voice said "this is not telemarketing" and that I should press 19 or call 800-243-9797. I wonder how they have access to my cell number. Perhaps someone is selling this information. I did not press 19 to receive the call nor did I return the call. I believe this is a scam and I plan to notify the attorney general for my state. Surely these people can be identified and stopped.

I got a call from 8002439797 and the "computer woman" said. This is not a telemarketing message. We have a message for you, you can retrieve it by pressing 10 or by calling 8002439797"
I called to this number and the Lowell General Hospital (In Massachusetts) answered.
It seems like that I have a bill outstanding.
I think this is a new way to use computers instead of a human been. ( crazy and scary, I thought that was a collection agency!!! )

On voice message caller said they were a sales & marketing service, but did not say what they were selling....and from prior comment entries,I am more likely to believe collection agency.

Received a call from 1-800-243-9797. Wanted me to press 9, or call back.  I never press the numbers, I call back.
Received a message that the number was no longer in service and gave a code of TWT5

I have had a call from this number every morning for the last 2 moths or so. I do not like the fact that when I have called back they do not identify who they are. Legit or not, being shady is not how they will get money out of me. Also, I have not yet spoken to a real person, always a machine. One would think if it was that important they would want to talk.

They have the wrong phone number and keep calling please stop.

The woman calling said she was from a *** Hospital and asked for my husband's date of birth to verify the account. I probably shouldn't have given her any information. I was smart enough the first time she called to tell her I do not give information to anonymous callers. However, she did know the amount of the copay and the date of service at the hospital bill. She did not ask for a payment and only wanted to know when we would be sending the copay. I think it could be a legitimate outside billing department that works for many hospitals.

Got a call from this number, girl who spoke quietly called about a Business matter and to have the person call back.

I called Civista Hospital to verify this phone call. The 800 # is an outsourced agency for receivables. They work for many different hospitals and the phone call IS legit. Just wanted to let everyone know!

Message said not a sales or marketing call - asked for my husband, told him they had the wrong number.  I don't have an outstanding medical bill.

Yes, I got the same message "this is not a sales or marketing phone call " thro relay. So I called back and the lady said that she was in the business office for hospital but never said her name and the name of the business office. I've told her my name and my daughter's birthday to verify. She said that I owe over $600 for hospital bill and had asked if I have second insurance they can bill. She was too friendly. It didn't sound like the financial office from Duke. I believe whoever I talked to may be a con artist. I was skeptical.
