If it's really Allstate calling from this number, the caller ID should say ALLSTATE.  If it says TOLL FREE CALLER or something else, it's a scam.  

This 800 number is the one Allstate uses for it's customers to call them and make payments or ask questions, etc.  if you get a call from Allstate, it should be from a local agent or adjuster. Allstate probably should not be calling anyone from this number.

If you get a call from 1-800-255-7828, ASSUME ITS A SCAM!

Just got my second call from 800-255-7828. I answered this time.  It is NOT Allstate, even though the number shown on caller ID is indeed Allstate.  It is a spoofed number.  Caller ID showed TOLL FREE CALLER. If this was legit, it would have showed the company name.

A man with an Indian accent said he was Michael with U.S. Auto Care Group.  He said that auto insurance rates are going up 35%.  Then he asked if I owned a Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, or GM car.  I told him I didn't own a car, and he hung up immediately. Hopefully, I won't get any more calls.

If this was Allstate, they would have known the type of car I own and what I pay for insurance. Also, the caller ID would have said ALLSTATE.  Don't be fooled by the spoofed number, which indeed is the number for Allstate, but that's not who is calling.  WARNING: THIS IS A SCAM!

Just got a call from this number.  I had my answering machine turned off and I didn't answer.  I am an Allstate customer, but if it's really Allstate, why does the caller ID say, "TOLL FREE CALLER"? That doesn't make sense.

I got a call from this number. They were calling about an Alexa or Alexis? They obviously had the wrong number since there is no one in my household with a name even close to those. They called me twice, I don't answer unknown numbers. After looking at this site I listened to the voicemail.  I couldn't catch the name they used after Mrs., but again, wasn't close to my last name.

Got a call from this number and let it go to voice mail.  It was a claims adjuster from Allstate calling with a question about a recent claim I made.

This is Allstate Insurance. It could be from many departments for many reasons. Not a scam. The number is 1800-ALLSTATE. (2=A 5=L 5=L 7=S 8=T 2=A 8=T)  

I got a call, too from AllState about a claim I filed.  It was a recorded message, but they had my name, which creeps me out!  I filed a claim with AllState when I got hit by an Allstate driver a few months ago, but I haven't filed one since - so this is obviously a really messed up Allstate thing, or it's a scam.  I wonder if I should call a different Allstate number and let them know this is going on?

Call from Allstate regarding a claim.  So this is a legit number.  If you get called, it's possible that either you or the other driver has Allstate and calling about a claim (or it's a wrong number).

I got a call from this number today and a voicemail approximately 30 seconds long that was just silence. I am not an Allstate user and I don't have a car, so if this is really Allstate, I have no idea why they would be contacting me. Unless the Allstate claims department butt dialed me...

It's the Allstate Claims department, my best friend hit my vehicle and they are her insurance company so they were following up with me to tell me what they were going to do and what services would be provided to me.

Got a call from this number recently. I don't have any business with Allstate. I think it's the same tele-scammer that calls me at least once everyday (Monday - Friday), usually around the same time, but with a different number each day. I don't answer, and they never leave a message. My policy is that I don't answer the phone unless it's from someone I know. Plus, I won't hear the ringer anyway ... I have the normal ringtone set to a very silent ringtone. Only friends, family and contacts have regular ringtones, so I'll hear when they call and I'll answer the phone for them. Oh, and I have any unknown numbers set to "automatic reject" so they won't even get a chance to ring my phone! I used to really hate these tele-scammers, but now I get a little satisfaction knowing I've wasted some of their time! Maybe if more people do like I do, the tele-scammers will only be wasting the time and resources of the telephone service providers, and then, maybe the service providers will take some action against them. One can hope....

Keeps calling.  I will not answer.  I do not have Allstate.

In our case (today), it was an Allstate claims adjuster, calling in response to a claim filed by our neighbor after my wife accidentally backed into the side of their car. (No hard feelings, fortunately, but theirs was leased and they need to have it fixed. Oh, well.)

This call was strictly legit, but after having read about some of the other experiences people have had with this phone number, you'd think they'd go to a different Caller ID for Allstate Claims that wouldn't be associated with scams and robocalls...

be very careful .... this could be a spoof and i have a complaint in to the fcc.  generally auto ins. companies DO NOT call their customers.  information is handled through the agents - it is THEIR job.  go hahead and give out information to these idiots and you'll get what you deserve.  just because the callwerid shows some information don't be fooled into thinking it is accurate.  yes, this number is an allstate ins. co. (as i redialed after *67) but do i know it was they who called me a few minutes ago when i didn't answer?  no.  phishers & scammers play on trust ... sppofers are great at their money making scams ... pay attention and don't be scammed - call your agent if you have this auto insurance company.

I didn't answer, and got a voice mail.  Turned out to be an automated call from Allstate with information about where to find safety information and file claims associated with the upcoming hurricane.

This is insane.  In this past year we have been receiving phone calls like this almost daily.  This number is by far one of the most annoying.  They won't stop calling!  We are on the Do Not Call Registry but are realizing it's of no value what so ever.  
I also found out that many bogus companies can actually purchase numbers from the Do Not Call Registry if they fill out a form as a Non Profit Agency.  Of course they aren't and the DNCR doesn't bother to confirm.

Babbs, while your insurance may be with State Farm, the other driver could have Allstate and may have been checking to see if a claim by you would be filed against them, especially if the other driver reported the accident to Allstate.  Then I'm sure State Farm and Allstate would have done their back-and-forth to see who really pays for what...

I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the #. Listened to the voicemail and it was a lady ready verbatim a "Thank you for being a loyal Allstate customer. we are calling on behalf of your agent Chad Hawks and are excited to serve you with the same great protection we have served you in the past", or something along those lines. I hate it when companies like that call to thank me for choosing them. I don't want to talk to you! Grrr... Yes I am an Allstate user and they did have my Agents name right.

Yesterday my son was In a minor accident. Our insurance is with state farm. Yet today I received an email with my son's name, saying Allstate had received his claim and telling me to call this 800 number right away. We did not fle a claim as his car was not hurt, and if we had, it would have been with state farm. Weird and a tad creepy.

This is just an automated courtesy call from Allstate to it's customers letting them know they can go to the Allstate website (which they already know) and sign-up for automatic payments of their premiums so they'll never be late.

Allstate ad/commercial on KEZW radio about free Allstate auto club membership even to non Allstate policy holders. This is for a "limited time" so call 1-888 allstate (888-255-7828) now. This is an 888 number and not 1-800 so maybe it's valid? I haven't tried it yet.

I got a call and it was quiet for a few secs, then a guy came on asking for Jerry, told them it was the wrong number. He said "so this isn't an allstate agent" and I said "no", then he said he was gonna have to let them know that or something to that effect and hung up.

We got a call and a letter after an accident. No one involved even carried this insurance agent. They had misspelled names, no return address, and though they claimed they were "The" Orlando, FL office (cause we all know there is only one ....not!) it was mailed from out of state. This is a scam! They call and may you to get you personal information! Caution!
