they called my work before calling me from 763-645-5349 asked for me said it was a personal matter my supervisor told them i can not receive personal calls at work than he asked for hr dept and asked if i was full time or part time employee. the name he left was jim mcauthy and left this 1800-264-2429 for me to call him back so i did not knowing what it was about and that 1800# goes to a hook up phone chat line for i dont what i owe or to who and i will not respond until they contact me directly i have had the same cell # for at least 5 years not sure why they have not called me guess they must not want my money that bad

So,  I get a call from this number;

"Can I speak to ****** please"

"Sorry but nobody of that name lives here"

"Then can you pass on a message please?"

"Pass a message to a person I don't know?  What do you think I am, telepathic?   Don't call us again!".

The amount of TARP money handed out to a select few companies was astronomical.  What did the American people get...NADA...  IMHO everyone should just stop paying these collectors in protest of outsourcing jobs in America.  If your in collections your credit is already messed up and by taking money out of your household to pay these b*****ds isn't helping you any.  So keep your payments in a safe place in the house.  They can't put you in jail nor can they take anything.  The most they will end up with in court is a lien for which the collector has to maintain to the tune of several hundred dollars every few years.   It's a disgrace what's happening in this country and and until things change...the hell with em.

I have gotten calls from this number for months and am on the state and federal do not call list.
They are a mortgage scam, I believe.

I'm getting daily calls from this number, when the answering machine picks up, they hang up.  If I answer, there's no one on the line!!

Bart is right they're mainly a Medical Debt collection agency.  The lady I spoke to on the phone was very polite and nice, once I told her my intentions to petition for CH.7.  She was helpful in giving me the proper information to turn over to a lawyer and was as nice as pie... just got a 2nd call today as the # is still in their auto-dialer.  if you're getting calls to a cellular phone you need to ASK them to remove the number as it's a cellular number.

Doesn't a credit collector have to send a monthly billing statement just like a normal creditor?  I don't see where a phone call suffices legally to try to collect a debt.  Secondly, does a collector have to serve papers on a person in order to sue in court?  These are two things that I have questioned over the years.  Thank you in advance for a response.

They've called me numerous times, but they didn't leave a message until today.  The message consisted of some elevator music and then a male voice saying "Tanya?......Hello?"

Im sorry J-LO but those people that are claiming they get phone calls from debt collectors at different times of the day and all day long are NOT KIDDING!!! I just got one AGAIN they call me everyday and its annoying also quite frustrating especially since EVERYONE is having problems nowadays. Heres my opinion on the whole thing if we could have more jobs here in the UNITED STATES and stop with the outsourcing so people could get paid and have money to pay their bills we wouldnt have anything to worry about lets start there first., Believe me if either of us were working in this household our bills would be paid off along time ago. They just need to give people a break thats all.

I think you need to brush up on your reading comprehension.  It was the collector's being called slimeballs by debtors, not the other way around.

Same here, they call my cell phone but leave no message. I just blocked the call at a system level, tho, so no more calls will come through!

Wow!  Reading these post only confirmed one thing for me... I block the number.  It goes directly to my voice mail.  If you want to contact me regarding a debt, write a letter.

The response of the collector's will be printed off for future reference.  Here's a website that allows for people to have opinions or questions and the collector's response is to call people slimeballs?!  That's not harassment at all...

They call my cell phone once a day, but never leave a message.  Whatever it is they need, it must not be that important!

800-264-2439 is affiliated credit services, goes straight to "Ethan" in my situation it's for a medical bill (collections)

Horrible people! Left me a message to call back for "credit services" (my credit score is 811 and I have no one chasing me for payment) and the b&^ch on the other end kept insisting that "Jose Martan" (?) lives here or it must be a new number!!  NOT. Never heard of Jose, and I've had my number, alone, for 15 years.  What can be done??!!

I have no idea why anybody at this number would be calling me.  The most annoying thing is that somebody from this number has called once every morning for the past three days.  When I answer the telephone, whomever it is who is calling promptly hangs up.  IF they have business with me, you'd think they would state it politely?

well hell,,i went to their website on the contact us page and they want all my info!!! seems like that would only make matters worse! I want them to leave me alone now! I guess ill just keep on ignoring them until i get a new phone number.

Yes, today again at work and on my cell phone, harassing calls from these idiots. I called their customer service number and requested they STOP calling especiall a work number!We'll see how well they listen. They even left disturbing voice mail messages on the work number and I better NOT loose my job over these people. I don't know them, or what the heck their after, I guess I'll have to inconvience myself again and change my cell number (IF that works!)

They keep calling and hanging up.  They're usually trying to reach other members of my family that used to stay with me and now there's no one except me living here.  So they're harassing ME EVERY DAY and HOURS OF THE DAY!!!  I'm getting irate over this!!!  I've told them repeatedly that these people don't live here anymore but they keep calling!!!!

Just "yesterday", 12Jan2008, I changed my phone number on my Verizon account. And in a 24 hour period I've gotten three calls from people whom I donot know. Two were 800,877, and one was a text msg from someone stating that they'd paid a $300 bill for me and I needed to reimburse them.

That number is for Affiliated Credit Services, they are a debt collection agency, not a sales or marketing firm. The best way to deal with them is to be calm, being rude to a debt collector will only leave you frustrated in the end.
