As a collections agency, the people at Harvard Services will only get paid if they can get money from you; they keep a percentage. For that reason, if you do not actually owe back taxes, you will NOT be able to clear that up through them: they have zero interest in removing a possible source of revenue.

These are scam artists taking over the U.S.. they are on my credit also. There unpro.rude scammers! Scrammer sux!

Appears another Debt Collection Agency has a problem with full disclosure when calling friends and family members under all state and federal consumer protection laws, rules, and regulations. Use of their "associated list" will also find your elderly, vulnerable, and uninformed friends, and family members. Used to harass and intimidate all involved. Let me add, portraying yourselves as the Department of Revenue or Department of Treasury is against the law. I just got a call from a Cedric Jones; I first thought it was weird that I'm in the Chicagoland area and the number that was calling was from area code (773), but somehow my Vonage service knew that it was an OUT OF AREA number.  From what I've read so far, this scammer is operating out of Danville which is way in Southern Illinois.  The guy didn't sound very professional and wouldn't verify anything; all he had to go on was my address.  Also became very aggressive with me when I called this a SCAM.

Received a call today from a lady wanting to collect $144 for a physicans I had never heard of, she was rude and would not send me a copy of the inovice; just insisted on collecting payment over the phone; or choose to get it appeared on my credit rating.  The address she was talking about I moved out in late 2006; thats 7 years ago.

Correspondence gets lost in the mail, I get it; but I should have to right to review any charges that are under my name no matter how long it goes back.

Received a voice message today from this number.  They were looking for someone with the same surname and called, I think, every other person in North America with the same surname.  When I returned the call I heard "Collection Services" from the electronic switchboard.  The woman with whom I spoke acknowledged that I was not the person in question and struck my number from her list.  Sometimes collection agencies just call everyone with a common surname in the area where they expect their subject to be.

I GET PEOPLE ARE SCARED OF GIVING OUT INFO OVER THE PHONE BUT IVE SEEN PEOPLE/BORROWERS LIVES RUINED BY ADMINISTRATIVE WAGE GARNISHMENT AS WELL AS TAX OFFSETS, WHEN IF THEY WOULD HAVE JUST VERIFIED WHO THEY WERE OVER THE PHONE I COULD HAVE HELPED THEM PREVENT A 15% GARNISHMENT AND 100% TAX INCOME SEIZURE. BUT NO THEY WANT TO BE HARD HEADED GET THEIR WAGES GARNISHED AND TAXES TAKEN , THAN AND ONLY THEN THEY CALL TO TRY TO SET UP ARRANGEMENTS...TOO LATE AT THIS POINT.

They are legit, they claimed who they are. They collect back taxes for the IL Dept of Rev.

they called me and left message on my recorder about being from il dept of revenue....i will not call them back...haha...

there are a few types of business that do not have to adhere to the DNC list. A debt collector is one of them.

I get several calls on my cell from Harvard Services. I have nothing to do with them & I want them to stop immediately calling me.
My telephone number is on the excluded list in Ottawa. I will also report them to the excluded list.

recorded message asking for robert jones. there is no one at thia location with that name. called the number back female who answered phone was very aggressive and would not tell me why i received a call for someone who does not live at thisd location.

I got a call from these people, a Ms. Jones. She did not identify herself as being from Harvard Collection Services. Instead, she claimed she was from the Il Dept. of Revenue. My initial call was last week; I called back the next day, after receiving mail from Harvard Collection Services, who confirmed that they are, indeed, Harvard Collection Service, not Il. Dept of Revenue. I then got hung up on.

Ms. Jones called again today, and again identifiedherself as calling from the Il. Dept of Revenue. When I pressed her, 3 times, on who she really worked for, she never admitted she worked for a collection agency. Instead, she said she worked for the collection dept. of Il. Dept of Revenue, eventually hanging up on me.

Even though I admit I owe money to Il. Dept. of Revenue, I will call them directly and deal with them, not with a company that misrepresents who they are. I will also report them to Il. Dept. Of Revenue for this misrepresentation.

If these folks are legit they should claim:
1) Who they are,
2) who they're calling on behalf of
3) a file number or reference #

instaed it's bunch of "this is a business matter" -
no name, etc.

THIS IS LEGIT, NOT A SCAM or SCAMMER -- Renzo Gonzales is a collections officer, whom works for Harvard Services.  I had my accountant check this out and Harvard Services does collections for the Illinois Department of Revenue.  I have made payments trough this service for past due taxes and received statements proving my payments were going towards my State taxes.  My account confirmed that my taxes had been paid off.

Renzo Gonzales  called  our office phone number, asked for our Chairman, he said he is calling from Chicago , IL , he wanted to get connected to the accounts Dept, I asked him to email  whatsoever concern matter to my e mail  id, he replied, he will call in the morning hours, speak to Chairman in regards to accounts payable.

Got numberous calls from this number, one Renzo Gonzales at extention 2352 looking for my daughter, claimed that he was with harvard Services, calling for the Illinois Deparrtment of Revenue. Claims the call is of a "personal nature" and could/would not tell me the nature of the call. I took his name and number but thuink it may be a scammer. I would not call him back without some additional ID.

got a call today...said he was with Illinois dept of Justice and that someone was using my social security number..he had my number ..said it was being "investigated... I am sure it is a scam...don't talk to these people

My mom got a call today from this number.  Renzo Gonzales from the Illinois dept of revenue. He said I left her number as a contact.  What the heck?
