They call me non-stop on my cell # all the time and I do not have an Amex account. I don't answer, so thank you all for letting me know. I won't ever answer now and I will block them on my Verizon call block feature.

Complete fraud! Got a call from this number on my cell. Returned the call and spoke with a heavily-accented woman. Told her I could not give her my account # as I didn't know which one she was calling about. She then asked for my SSN which I know Amex would not do. I asked her to prove she was indeed representing American Express. She said she could do that through my SSN. (Seriously!) I told her I was onto her scam & hung up.
Only one of my 3 Amex cards has my cell as contact info. I called the customer service # on the back of that card just to double-check. Confirmed: it had been an attempt to phish. The agent reiterated that Amex can identify you by phone number or account number but would never - repeat Never! - ask for you SSN. Beware of these crooks!

Calls almost daily.  Says hello then hangs up with no message.  How does this get stopped

They: 800-266-5832 do not want to id themselves? no message left, how do they expect a call back?

This number called after the legal calling time, but didn't leave a message. In CA no business is allowed to call before 8 am and after 8 pm. The called at 8:37 pm.
