If the message insists that it is important to call them back and they say that you can call up to a certain time then you can be sure it is a collection agency. Seems that all the employment agency's or gone and the collection agency's are here to stay. Please do not call the number back and please just keep erasing any messages. This will ensure that the bill collectors will have jobs and hopefully more job openings will mean that we will be able to be hired and eventually pay our bills.

They called leaving a message like it was a personal call but that does make sense when the call back number is 1 800 it turns out it is a 3rd party Cablevision collections, i disconnected last month and waiting for my $19 bill? and instead got a collections call.

I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND THEY PUT ME ON HOLD..FOR A LONG TIME , I CALLED BACK AND ASKED WHAT COMPANY IS THIS AND THEY PUT ME RIGHT ON HOLD WITHOUT ANSWERING ME!! I DID THIS 5 TIMES AND ALL 5 TIMES THEY DID IT.... IM GOING TO LOOK INTO THIS COMPANY B/C THIS IS SO SHADY I CANT BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH IT!! ANY NEW POSTS PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Nobodys afraid, just no one wants to answer a scam caller or doesn't want to pay a huge debt that might or might not even be theres. lol .. i guess theyre more afraid theyre reach over the phone and grab into their wallet..

Got a call from ID 12223333, which is invalid but they left this msg for a person that not me and to call back 800-269-9488.  I called to see what it is about, The guy won't tell me why because I am not the person they called for and hung up on me lol.  But sounds like a collections place, there were a lot of noise in the background and I heard people talking about payments and payment plans etc.

DO NOT TRUST THE PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLING YOU FOR DEBT COLLECTING.ALWAYS GET A NAME AND A CONTACT # BEFORE YOU PAY AND IF POSSIBLE DO NOT PAY OVER THE PHONE!!!! EVER.I was scammed last year and paid a bill i thought,until a week or 2 later the real company asked me to pay a similar amount. People can get 1800 number easy and act like your cable company.all they have to do is ask YOU where you live and your zip then get your banking info.....I dont answer the phone anymore and if I have to pay someone its by check via snail mail and if they need it fast by wire thats it.always ask THEM for information first and last name, where is the office at,what are the last digits of your account #. dont be fooled like ME!

Called our office 4 times today trying to talk to one of our clients.  We're their account manager but they refused to talk to us.  Setup my VOIP system to forward the call to the local police department next time and every time they call from that number moving forward.  lol.

Obviously its  a Debt because I googled it but why do they act like because they use a first name we are to assume its a friend? No one has a friend that calls from an 800 number. I would actually have more respect if the told me why they were calling on my voicemail.

They called me like 5 times today all from a "unavailable" number. I finally picked up and they wouldnt tell me what company they were calling from.My guess is its cablevision because I do owe a balance.

i got a missed call from a 704 number, i called the 800 number back and i got a greting of "Hello" I asked for the name of the person who answered and i was hung up on,, I called back and the lady who answered was very rude and wouldnt tell me what company they call from. This is Sunrise Credit Services, Inc., a collection company for Cablevision. Apparently, they think that answering the phone and refusing to give out any info will motivate people to spontaneously pay them. I only know this because I called in response to a letter sent regarding a bill I forgot to pay and asked for the extension mentioned in the letter. The person was at lunch and trying to get info about my bill was like pulling teeth from these people... If, however, I was going to try to duck them I certainly wouldn't 1) return a call in response to a message where the person declines to say who they are and why they are calling and 2) give out information to someone who refuses to name their business when asked. Stupid. Is this how companies are trying to collect bills these days? Just state that you are a bill collector for goodness sake. Unless you're calling a psychic...

My sister's cell phone rec'd 3 messages for me from a Lori Sage.  FIrst time I called my response to the 'Hello' was 'what company is this'.I was promptly put on hold.  I called back and got a Mike Johnson on the phone who explained that this was a call center and that there are several different companies there.  He asked if I got a call from them-I said yes and that I wouldn't give him any information and he hung up on me.  REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!

called from blocked number and left message saying call me at 800-269-9488 ext 2162, no name left. Called back and call was answered with "hello?" asked for extension and call was disconnected. Did this twice then asked the person who answered what the call was about and they hung up on me.
