I got a "kinda legal looking" flyer in the mail calling itself the Office of Foreclosure Prevention - Florida Housing Services- with no address, just the 800 280 0094. This must be the phishing aspect.

Actually a loophole in the no call law is that if one is doing business with a company then the calls are legitimate. At least that's my recollection. Anyhow, the calls are annoying and often have nothing to do with reality. I am paying my bills and these folks call me even though the checks are clearing. Their records are out of date and they think it appropriate to call early, midday, and late at night. Perhaps we need their CEO's number and we can start dialing him with our complaints.

Sometimes comes through as private.

I haven't answered any of these yet.  I won't answer unless I know who is calling.  But they've been calling regularly.  And we are on the do  not call list.  grrr.

I also keep getting calls from them, when I answer it's a machine saying, "Please hold for a very important call" ....  Sorry if it's important a real person can call and I hate sitting on hold when I want to talk to someone much less when I have no idea who it is or for what..

I've had this number call my cell 3x this weekend. Got a message this morning from them. Automated sounding, and only caught the last part of it.
It says "If you are XXX  XXXX, press 1"  "If you are not, press 2"

I am certainly not the guy they asked for, but no way was I going to even think to press 2 if I HAD answered the phone. I've read this is a possible phishing scheme.

I've received called from this number. I have a ringback tone (when someone calls you they hear music instead of the ringing sound) and I think that confuses them b/c they hang up without leaving a message.

Actually, we owe no one except the U.S. Department of Education anything, and yet they still called us.  We've learned to ignore these calls since they've cast so wide a net as to snare those without a debt in the first place.

If you are getting calls from this number call it back give them the number they are calling on, and hey should remove it. I have been gettin calls at 8:22 everyday for 3 weeks, called them back and talked to a guy named Jered and he removed my number. Its becasue of the person who had the phone number prior to me. You call the number and just stay on the line and talk to a real person.

If I get any more calls from this number I will report them to the proper authority.

if you are recieving these calls due to a debt it is illeagal for them to call before 8am and after 8pm your time... complants can be filled....it is also illeagal for them to call on a Sunday.. Look up your rights in your state for Debtors. in some cases you can place a complaint and a Law Suit and they have to pay your balance off. If you are not a Debtor then you have rights as well.. contact the BBB for help.

It's HSBC Retail services. They probably call me 3 times a day because I am 800 over my limit because THEY charged my card 1200 in deffered interest, yet I pay on time every month. If they don't have the decency to have a live person call or leave a message, I don't have the decency to answer or call them back.

To EVERYONE saying you do NOT have an account with them, why don't you take a look at various Store Credit card statements, ie: Best Buy, JC Penny, Sears, Express, etc. etc. My Best Buy and Sears card are both through HSBC retail.

HSBC says they were with Menards...fraudulent claim..it should have been stated that they were calling on behalf of Menards. Would not give information what the call was regarding so I was unable to send them to correct department. Offered to take number and ask around but he refused to leave a message, saying he would just call back later...guess what...will not get through later either.

They called yesterday and today for my boss.  Yesterday they said there was no message.  When they called today they again said there was no message, but I stopped the girl and made it clear that they would never reach my boss unless they left a message.  She told me they were calling regarding the Office Max account, but would not give me a call back # despite my asking several times.  And then she said, "There's no message, ma'am" and she hung up on me.

Why do they bother calling if they don't want any resolution.  Is it because the caller works on commission?

Answered a call from this number only to hear a prerecorded voice tell me all operators were busy and to hold. I did so that I could tell them to take me off their list. After holding for about half a minute, they hung up on me. Jerks.

One week, I received calls from this number no less than 22 times each day!  So many that they filled my home answering machine and then started calling my cell phone.  It is ridiculous.  We lost EVERYTHING to the economic crash last fall and are in business bankruptcy, yet they continue to call at all hours.

Isn't HSBC the holding company for Bank of Hong Kong. I get these calls once a day like clock work. They never leave any message. Based on the others feedback there is no reason for these people to be calling me, especially on my office cell

I don't have an account with HSBC, in fact I only just moved to the US from the UK and got this phone number so I don't have a clue where they got my details from. I didn't answer the call and they didn't leave a message. Hopefully they won't call again tomorrow.

I have received calls from this number a few times lately, no message left.  Only the number comes up, no name (on my cell phone).  I have no idea how they got my cell phone number or what they want.
