This is a scan DO NOT give your information to these people they will get into your account and take money from you. DO NOT PAY. If you have given out any sort of information call your local banks (eg WAMU, Chase, Wells Fargo). I called WAMU and they told me I needing to close my account and re-open it since I had given out the information. They still call me up to 10 times a day... at my parents house which I dont even live in!!!

I continue to receive calls on my cell phone from 800-280-9441 at all hours of the day and night. Caller ID only shows number, no name. Caller never leaves a message or sits quietly for a few minutes to see if someone will answer. One time I heard heavily accented voices in the background. I will not return calls to without first knowing who is calling. Number does not match any numbers I have for my credit card providers.

This number calls every 20 minutes and never leave a message to call back or to who they want.  If it is Washington Mutual or Chase they can go "f" themselves, says my wife.  She never missed a payment and after they merged they canceled her card.

These people call me at least 14 times a day. At times the number would call simultanously one minute after the other when i refuse to answer. On their voice message, they leave just thier number and hours of operation which doesnt include sundays. They call me on Sundays as well. I reported it to my tmobile account and they couldnt even detect the number on my call log. I have picked up their call and hung up, i sent the calls directly to voicmail and i even waited for the ringing to stop. How can this number not be detected.

I keep getting calles from this number too, so I googled it to see what it was and I found this page. It's an automated message that is left saying to call back this number. I do have a WAMU/Chase card, but I don't know why they would be calling. As I write this I got another call. I just hit ignore and it goes to voice mail, but it's so annoying!

I keep getting called from +800-280-9441. I don't answer, they don't leave a message. When I call the number, it starts out as a recording for "Card Services", and says to enter card info, or wait for customer service rep. It doesn't identify who they are. I do not give my cell number out to creditors, just my home number. I smell scam.

If you answer any questions, expect identity theft.  They do not know who they are calling they are phishing and you provide CC info, SS number and your name.   You're bank, CC company etc. all know your information and they do not and WILL NOT ASK anything over the phone.  If they have a problem with your account they will send you a formal letter or notice.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM !!!!!  JUST HANG UP !!!!!

Got 3 calls in as many hours -- one call an hour! -- yesterday. Just before 10a it's started again. I ignore most 800 calls like this unless i have them listed in my phone's contacts. I KNOW i don't owe anybody money, and i've NEVER had a WAMU account in any shape or fashion! How do we get these calls to stop??!

These people keep calling and never leave a message.  They've called 3 times today already (Sunday) and it's only 9:00am.  We had a WAMU card in the past but it has been paid off for months and we were never late on it.  We've only had our phone number for less than a year so could be calling for prior owner of number but I'll be darned if I'll answer the phone.  This is so annoying.

I keep getting calls from this unknown number.  It'as 800-280-9441.  I looked it up online and this is the first page that came up.  I do have a wamu platinum card, I will admit that I did go over the limit, BUT my payment isn't due for another month, so why are they trying to contact me.  Are they incapable of waiting for my due date?  What the hell?  It's the first time it's happened, but there is no need to harrass any customer for payment.  Why do they think that they will get a prompt payment if they harrass you?  All anybody has to do is turn their phone off.

They called wanting money.  I told them I just got the phone and didn't know who they were calling.  They wouldn't take "No" for an answer.  I hung up and put them on my "Blocked Caller" list.  They can call all they want and nobody will answer.  Thank goodness for call blocking!

They didn't call ME, but when I called CHASE to work out a deal on my card, that was one of the numbers they told me to use when contacting them.

That number is part of the collection dept for Chase.
CHASE took over what used to be "Washingtom Mutual" (WAMU).
WAMU took over what used to be PROVIDIAN (the person above said it sounded like "carribean").

As for calling parents and jobs and such looking for you, believe it or not... they CAN do that.

Collection agencies have the "right" to look for you at any number which might lead to you.

However, they can NOT say anything that might be threatening to you - or make themselves out to be law enforcement or something like that.

They should also NOT be asking your friends / family for their SSN #'s.

I read up on all this stuff since I am currently going through some financial wrangling (having been downsized from my position and doing everything I can to keep my credit / credit cards / mortgage up to date).

That said, it's always a good policy that if someone calls YOU and asks for personal info, to tell them NO, and that you'll call that company back.

Then, look up the number to whatever card/ account was calling you and speak to them.
IF they need info, as long as YOU originated the call, then it's ok to give personal info.

I receive an sms from my mother stating that my father (parents are divorced) received a phone call asking if he used to be married to my mother, and gave her first name. He said yes, then they stated they were looking for ME, in which case he said 'don't know, never heard of her'. (haha) They asked my father personal questions, such as for his SSN which he wouldn't give them and many other questions. That's none of their business. From previous posts this appears to possibly be Wamu, I DO have a CC with them, however they have NO RIGHT TO CALL MY PARENTS! WTF!? My father is NOT responsible for my debt, haven't really spoke with him much in the past 20 years but definitely NOT responsible for my debts. And what's really irritating is I'm not behind in my payments. Oh and my father lives almost 2000mi away, yeah that's totally close to me and of course I'd be there...duh. The number they gave for me to call: 8002809441

JP MORGAN CHASE - 972-512-9505 appeared in my caller's ID.  I did check who called using my cellphone.  A woman with an Asian accent answered and asked whether I have a WAMU card. and ask questions.  Was suspicious and hanged up.  Then a message coming from a man with a Pakistani or Indian accent left this number to call  1-800-280-9441.  Chase and Wamu never call my house ; neither my cell phone.  Who are these people?
