I bought a new home and got a few of these postcards from Mr. Grey and Crystal. I'm not contacting them as it sounds bogus. The cards are too general and nothing is hand written.

the phone number was 1-800-281-6976

I two have gotten the post card recently moved to Florida from Washington loving it so far, but i actually did call the number and they gave me this amazing gift card for being a new home owner i was very much appreciated and i recommend that if anyone gets this post card you should deff. call them, they really aren't spamming anyone. If you actually call them you would know that.

Wow, this spans back to 2009 and probably earlier too. I just got a post card in the mail today saying I have 3 days to call 1-800-281-6976 but no reason as to why I should call. With no return address or post mark (I live in Marion County, FL) there was no way I would call some number just because it says I need to. Thank you everyone here for posting about this and keeping the masses informed! Oh "Mr. Gray", you are going to have to try harder than this, lol.

I too recently moved to FL, (Winter Haven) and have received 2 postcards in the mail saying "We have been trying to reach you.  We have a housewarming gift for you." "Give us a call at 863-248-3734, Melanie"

I did not and will not be calling this number, and am glad I found this post.  If this were truly some benevolent organization that did not want to sell me something and just welcome me to FL, (as Katie is trying to indicate above) they would provide far more information about who they are and what they do.

BEWARE.  DO NOT BE GULLIBLE AND FALL FOR THIS. NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE.

Unhappy that these people have my new address...they're still at it though. Got a random creepy postcard from "Mr. Gray" right after buying a new home. Not AT ALL comforted by the shouty capitals and incorrect grammar of the previous poster either...lol! Different number listed 1-800-986-4617, so maybe this is one of the "copycats" mentioned above, but either way, definitely not calling!

I have received 3 separate post cards from Mr. Gray urging me to call him immediately. Each card says that they have been desperately trying to get in touch with me. There is no identification on the cards or any explanation why they are trying to reach me. I Googled the number I was to call and found this site. I too am a new homeowner and apparently new home owners have been targeted by Mr. Gray, who apparently is the front for a water softener company. This is a scam and I would run for the hills.

I got the memo from Mr. Gray as described below.  From reading the posts, it is no coincidence that after buying a house several weeks ago I received a call offering a free water analysis.  I said sure!  Received a call later to confirm appointment from the person who was going to come by.  When I informed him my wife was not going to be present for the analysis he insisted that she had to be there.  I told him to forget it and to cancel the appointment.  One week later the post card arrives.  Definitely sounds like a high pressure sales job for something you don't need or worse.

Caveat Emptor my fellow home buyers!

I just got the infamous yellow post card in the mail from a "Mr. Gray, Home Delivery.  It too promised a free gift from someone who has been trying to reach me, and it beseech-ed me to hurry and give him a call!.  I have been in this freshly purchased house for almost 2 weeks now and love it!  I was highly suspicious of this post card and decided to google it.. and am GLAD I did too! Thanks to the personal experiences of folks like Zadam and sue, I now know better than to call and not only waste my time... but put a bulls-eye target right on my forehead!.  Thanks again folks.. keep up the good work.. and for god sakes...   Caveat Emptor!

Save the post cards people.  Give them to the county or state's attorney's office.

Location of one of the numbers is just past 301 (Washington Ave) and 4th/5th Street.  It's low income, which makes sense.

REMEMBER!...  if you call them first, then the National (or state) Do Not Call becomes inapplicable to you.

Phone numbers to my house re same:

941-870-4353  Melanie
1-800-281-6976  Mr. Gray

When someone introduces themselves as Mr. and hides all information about themselves, it's kind of your own fault for falling for it.... right?

Some deeper digging turned up a location.  He/She is located just on the other side of Route 301 (Washington Ave), on 4th or 5th Street.  These are old low-income housing.

This should help the investigation.

Indeed, that is a completely bogus webpage.  http://zdicc.com/

That number is still listed at the bottom of the page, with apparently pirated thumbnail pics even.  There are no links, just a cover page to nothing.

.............................

I got a yellow postcard in the mailbox stating anonymously, "We have been trying to reach you, we have a housewarming gift for you.  Give us a call @ 941-870-4353  Melanie".

So they clearly don't have my phone number and this is another method of reaching people anonymously.  There's no company name, and Melanie is an I, not a We.  :)

...............................

Got another card and ran turned up some search.

The other card is in the style of a Memo.

To:  [Blank]
From:  Mr. Gray, Home Delivery
Subject:  Your Gift

"I have been trying to reach you.  There is a gift waiting for you here.  My hours are 9AM to 9PM, 7 days a week.  Please hurry and give me a call.

Thanks,
Mr. Gray
1-800-281-6976"

The two are clearly connected.  Also, as to location.....

The postmark is stamped MID-FLORIDA PDCFL.

Some deeper digging turned up a location.  He/She is located just on the other side of Route 301 (Washington Ave), on 4th or 5th Street.  These are old low-income housing.

I am saving them to give to the county attorney's office to work with the consumer division.

It's a phishing scam as far as I can tell.

They are now using a cell phone number. (863) 816-5198. Guy came out a second time & I recognized the car before he even got in the driveway. Told him he'd already been here and I had called twice to tell the lady we didn't want our water tested (it is amazingly pure right out of the ground). This guy thinks he's smooth. Take your miniature little pee pee car and go elsewhere, bozo!

I recieved the same card and thought it looked familiar. I called and then I remember throwing them out of my home 5 years ago. They sell you hard on water treatment systems for your home. They had the nerve to use our children's health being at risk and the cancer word if we did not buy the water treatment system. That is when I threw there a** out of my home. They refused to leave stating that we were not concerned for our childrens health. That was when I picked them up and threw them off my property and called the cops to report them as harrassing me and my family. After the sales agent got back to the office thier supervisior called us asking to come back offering a discount as a peace offering. Can you believe these clowns??

Sorry to hear you've been victimized. It's a bit late but here's a link that discusses water treatments that don't work http://www.chem1.com/CQ/
A rule of thumb is to never buy anything from anyone who approaches you. If you think you might want to try their product, send them away first without making any commitments, then research it on the net and ask your family and friends for their opinions. If they refuse to leave, call the police. My biggest problem is peddlers who sell magazines and home alarm systems -- both scams -- and I finally had to put up a big No Trespassing sign visible from the road. Best wishes, hope you get your money back.

I received a post card from them when we moved into our new home as wellalong with cards from several other companies that do the same thing. I found the people with "Mr. Grey" up front with me versus the ones from the other companies that wouldn't even give me the company name. They did come to my home, checked the water. It was hard of course but moving into a new home we did not have any extra money. They left the dinner voucher. the other companies that I had out told me the gift was "in the mail" every time I called. Therefore I have reported the other companies to the BBB.

Thanks for the information. I have go0gled as others have. I found it funny when we moved to the trails recently. There were people showing up with truck loads of meat and paintings even before we had the keys fitting the door. I am still laughing at my wife for buying over $700 of truck meat. We could of went and bought 1/2 a cow at a country butcher of fresh meat.Must be new home buyers are all looked on as suckers. I have to see about that NO SOLICITING sign. It really works. This Mr. Gray place I told them I wasn't interest and some clown showed up at my door then I told him again I DRINK BOTTLED water,
