I received a call from US Air Mastercard fruad protection from their Wilmington office at (302) 255-800).  They said they had a caller currently on the other line with my name, social, and DOB who was trying to change my password/PIN.  I called the fraud center back using the number on their website.  They promptly shut down my card, I changed my password, and they are sending a new card.  They did not try and sell me fruad protection services.  My thanks to their professional department.

This call was legit. Instead of calling back the number, I logged into my account, and the alert said there was a suspicious charge on my credit card. I was able to handle it online without calling anyone.

Called for an employee. Listened to the automatic recording just long enough to get his name and his wife's name, then went and told him to call the number on his card for possible fraudulent charges (better safe than sorry with the way scammers spoof legit numbers).

USAir credit cards keeps calling me from this number but I don't have a card- they are looking for someone else and calling the wrong number. There's no prompt to tell them they have the wrong number, and there's no way to get customer service, so they keep calling me. USAirways- get your records straight or make a prompt system that lets people let you know you have the wrong number, as there may be fraud and the victim is not being notified.

I received a call this afternoon, telling me someone had made three purchases at a Home Depot in Texas, using my card's number. The most recent took place only 15 minutes earlier. I live in NC so there was no way I could be in Texas. JMM, getting a call at midnight means they just discovered a doubtful charge on your account. This thread is about 800-285-0196, what's the 719-6423?
This number (800-286-0196) is legit; I hope they catch the crook.

I received a call just before midnight from this number.  They left a message about my having a prepaid master card with them.  I have NO cards with US Airways so I don't know what they are talking about or how they got my number.  Since I have no US Airways master card I don't have access to any number that would be listed on a card to call.   I really don't want to call the 800-number back as I don't trust what is going on.

This number is NOT bogus. I received a call and called back with the case number I was provided. It is a fully automated system - you just press numbers in response. It is genuinely US Airways Mastercard's Fraud prevention system contacting you if a suspicious transaction occurs on your account. I also received a call on my cell phone, as well as an email to verify that the transaction is legit. If you don't want to call this number, you can also resolve the matter with a call to the number on the back of your Mastercard. I'm pretty glad there is such systems in place and don't mind the slight inconvenience at all for peace of mind!

U S Airways MasterCard has called me in the past when they suspected a "bad charge".  This time, they sent an email with instructions to call the above-listed number.  When I called, they were tracking an online purchase made in Texas early this morning.  (I live in AZ , and just got up - so I couldn't have made the charge.)  When I hesitated, they read off the last 10 charges I made on the card - so, I know they were legitimate.  The only thing they tried to "sell" me was expedited shipping for a replacement card.

For the first time in a very long time, Customer Service is alive and well.  Thank you so much, U S Airways MasterCard.

I received a call from the 800-286-0196 number and was told USAirways Credit Card froze my account because of a concern over a "suspicious" purchase.  I hung up and called back using the number on the reverse of my credit card and I seemed to be connected to the same center.  There was no suspicious purchase on my card, but a valid one - and nothing about it was out of the ordinary.  The call really turned out to be a promotion to sell me credit card protection at $12.99 per month.  I declined and they continued to say they will put it on my account and I can cancel it at any time.  I again declined. While the call is from the credit card company, the intent is to sell a service.

This was a legitimate call from the US Airways MasterCard fraud protection service.  They called to confirm that a transaction I made using my credit card was legitimate.

The call was legitimate. Instead of calling 800-286-0196, I went to the credit card website where I confirmed that the transaction in question was mine. Still, if you a receive a call like that, don't answer it or dial the number that they leave you. Always use the number that is on the back of your credit card and get customer service instead.

I received a card (promotion) stating that: Save 50% automatically on iTunes purchases of $10 or more when you use your US AIRWAYS dividend Miles Mastercard.
They did not honor the promotion.  They charged me full price.  Please take of this. You charged me $32.57.  It should be half.

The message from this number said that it was from US Airways MasterCard.  Instead of phoning this number, I phoned the US Airways MasterCard number that is printed on the back of my credit card.  The people at US Airways MasterCard told me that 800-286-0196 was a valid number, but I resolved the matter from dialing the number printed on my credit card, and never actually phoned 800-286-0196.

This is a legit number from USAirways mastercard.  I did have a mistaken charge on my credit card and I found I couldn't use my card later that day.  I called the number back and got fraud detction folks who had my personal security info (mom's maiden name, etc).
