I talked to Jennifer on the phone and received an email from Sophia. This is the website given in their email
http://www.statewelfarecard.com/

And also a PDF to fill out
http://www.tanf.us/about.html

They try to bait you by telling you you'll lose out on extra business but the ebt cards are set up through Bank of America and people can easily withdraw cash to buy foods.  This third-party idea of selling/renting their credit card systems in order to easily accept ebt cards is a clever angle and my boss almost fell for it.

Sick and tired of scammers and identity thieves trying to steal what little money we laboriously try to earn.  A lot of us are struggling to pay the bills and put food on the table. Do something useful instead of forcing evil and corruption unto average joes.

this is a scam, heres how it works. They get you to switch processing companies with the bs. if you never accepted cards at your business well then you wouldnt know if you are being scammed. its the businesses that are currently accepting, its slick marketing and before you know it.......

I DID find where "State Welfare Card Merchant Center" was mentioned in the following, and NOT for ethical business practices:
http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/transfirst-card-processers-c214329.html
23rd of Mar, 2011 by   Distributorofmoney  --
"I was never informed about early cancellation fee prior to 36 months, or a $50 minimum transaction fee, or a $295 fee to buy terminal prior to 36 months in our telephone communications. ..."
"Turns out, Michelle doesn't work for the state, she works for an independent company hired to manipulate small businesses in to signing up for these fraudulent contracts."

IF this is correct, and State Welfare Card Merchant Center is associated with TransFirst well, although the BBB gives TransFirst an A+ rating  (http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-reviews/cr ... 0213/complaints ), it's obvious that their users have MAJOR problems with TransFirst:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/directory/transfirst  -- 33 complaints

Really?  Well, then why don't YOU ADVERTISE the company's FULL
--Name
--Physical Address
--Local Telephone number
--BBB report link

"The fax came from 480-393-5568" (previous post) -- is from Phoenix, AZ
800-287-3355 -- http://411.info/business/New-York/New-York/AC ... O/11743194.html   belongs to Ace Messenger Service in New York.

So, how do you explain THAT connection?

There seems to be NO company named "State Welfare Card Merchant Center," either.

I actually started up with them and they are ligit, but the only thing is I have not really had EBT customers.  People tried before I had this service avalible and were turned away so guess I have to start doing more advertizing. The company is real and a friend of mine actually told me about it. She said she has double her earning in the 4 months of using the service.

Unforunately I was busy and exited about the possibility of making more money and filled out the application without giving it much thought until the next day. I also thought it was fishy that they were so eager to get me to sign up and the fact that they kept calling. Any dealings I have had with state or Local entities have been painfull and this seemed to too easy. Not sure what to do now. I have reached out to a ID theft resource to protect myself going forward.

And after 3 months of all these "benefits" (LOL) you decide to look up the number on a site for finding out about unknown numbers and reporting scams, to tell us how wonderful this is for you?

What a crock. Isn't it funny how crowd sourcing sites like this can cut into your illicit profits? You scam must not be very profitable, or your scammer overlords could afford to hire a better liar to shill for them!

I actually started up with this 3 months ago and for my area it was very beneficial. At first I was a little hesitant but then I did some research and realized that this is legal and totally worth it. I've doubled sales last month, and the this company apparently is legit. So if your really trying to start accepting ebt at business then I'd try it out. And it's month to month so there's no contract. So why not?

Hope this message helps some of you out...

Just Got the same phone call and got very suspicious as well. Look up the application on-line and found all of your comments. The application itself does not even look real for a State or Government agency. Do NOT Release any info to these theifs.

I got the same phone call today as of today, July 19th, 2012 about the EBT Cash Debit Card.  I own a restaurant in Chicago, IL and I thought it was legit, therefore, I gave the phone rep. my email address to forward me the info. and application.  He told me that he will call me again to confirm that I got his email.  Few hours later he did call me to confirm, but I said that I only have internet access at home, and that I will check it out.  He still said that he will call me next Monday to confirm.

I thought it was a little weird for someone to be so highly motivated to get me to sign up, when in reality, government aid service usually are too busy to take calls over the phone that there's no pickups.  You pretty much have to go to the office and wait in line forever.  Anyways, when I had checked out the application, it was asking for my personal information like my social security number, home address, home phone and cell phone, federal tax ID number, my most recent credit card processing statement so they can check out my rates!  The whole application seemed very suspicious to me.

I originally thought it was a government agency, but in small print, the application said that it was NOT a government agency.  The name of the company is, "State Welfare Card Merchant Center," that name is deceiving, and your personal information can be sold.  Also, it said that the application was only for "Preapproval Purposes" so that would suck and be stupid if you never hear back from this company after they took a lot of your personal information.

By the way, if people can withdraw cash from the EBT Card, then this application is unneccessary, because people can still use that actually cash on hand to buy "JUST ANYTHING!"

This application seems like a sales company that wants your personal information, plus to sell their service to you like a credit card processing company.

Beware of weird scams like this that I almost fell for.

I was looking it up as it was a number on a faxed sheet talking about state cash aid cards?

It was to a merchant wanting info to sign up to participate.
The fax came from 480-393-5568.

Thinking it some sort of scam.
